Posted: 7/17/2009 3:45:48 AM | | Isnt one of the beauties about this site the fact that you can tell the truth and not have any problems coming back from it? if you are overweight, show the photo, tell the truth and people will email you if they stil like you or not if they dont, same as got to be for age, height, kids, marital staus etc. I mean going to a pub and chatting to someone without this information on here is got to b worse, telling girls you like take that for instance! | |

Posted: 7/17/2009 4:19:03 AM | I think my real age is more impressive than if I were to knock 15 years off. I think the men I have met the show up looking like Dad, do it to meet younger women.
In all fairness I have made friends on here and the men complain about women showing up for a date not only looking much older but also looking nothing like the photos they post on here.

I am not condoning lying but this situation might make people understand but not condone why people lie about their age/
I was talking to a young lady in a bar this saturday she was 26 I am 42. We were discussing going out at some later time. We exchanged numbers and she then proceeded to ask me how old I am . told her 42. She politely said she thinks we have too big of a difference in age .
I understood where she was coming from{her parents were both under 50}.
Now if I lied about my age on a short term basis I would have got a better result.
I still wont lie and when you do you eventualkly get caught , but damn sometimes you say to yourself why tell the truth
Uh-huh. And what if you were talking to an interesting woman in a bar and then found out she was a lot older than you thought she was? It really wouldn't make any difference to you?

Wonder what's gonna happen when he meets her 21 yr old son who lives at home! Lying about your age is a big turn off for me and reeks of insecurity. | |

Posted: 9/7/2009 9:23:34 AM | my way of doing things, is the opposite. i will say a much higher age than i really am, ill say 95. if they say, "no really, whats your age." then i ask them, why are you so concerned about my age. you like me right. you think im fairly attractive. so what will knowing my age mean. i have literally refused to tell people my age. they ask, how come i have a problem with age. then i say, im not the one with the problem hon. your one who keeps asking me. I don't feel a number is relevant to anything. Have you ever asked yourself, why are people so obsessed with another persons age.
Heres a little thing to try. next time, someone of the opposite sex askes you how old you are. tell them ud rather not say. and you watch them go crazy. ITs like a drug. they need to know. personally, i don't want a women that takes age that seriously. | |

Posted: 9/7/2009 8:40:11 PM | For the purposes of Online dating or meeting, perhaps age should be optional, but current (within 6 months) photos, full length & shoulders up, should be mandatory! My age limits are such that I don't want to date my children's friends or my parents' friends. Attitude is more important than actual age, but I would prefer to be of the same generation, so we have some things in common.
When I was younger, my business was selling knowledge. Because I looked so youthful, many thought I couldn't possibly know what they were paying me to do. Youthful appearance then was NOT an asset. I even had problems being permitted to sign to have my children treated in the emergency room for their sports injuries.

I get embarrassed when people do the math and figure out that I had a child out of wedlock when I was 17. does age really matter that much. when I see a limit on ages on a profile its a turnoff right away for me. | |

As long as his pictures are recent and he tells you his real age before you meet, it's not a problem. Some people (present company included) look a lot younger than their actual age (their biological age vs. their chronological age), and are interested in meeting someone younger. Most dating sites match people by their age and a lot of people do searches by age groups (i.e. 45-55) which would not show you his profile, if he used his actual age. If this was his only sin, you could do a lot worse ....and that's assuming everything you put in your profile is the truth, and nothing but the truth! | |

If people meet people in person, they don't KNOW your age. Online, you HAVE to list it in your profile. This is one reason why meeting in person is better. I've had much younger women come onto me who had no idea how old I am until I told them, which I shouldn't have. As long as I can keep up with them, it's irrelevant. | |
