Posted: 2/29/2008 2:02:50 PM | I've had this done to me and it's gone extremely well, and very bad. We had an understanding that it was ok..as I'm a very deep sleeper.. as long as he woke me up before it went hardcore we were fine.
One time I had apparently encouraged him the entire time in my sleep, made all the same noises as when awake and I didn't even remember in the morning that anything had happened at all.
Then there was this other time i woke up in the middle of it and took a swing at him because i had really been dead asleep, and had no idea what the hell was going on.  | |

An arm gets draped or a hand lands somewhere doesn't usually equate to the same thing as touching someone sexually. I wake up very easily when someone starts touching me while I sleep (because of someone touching me while I sleep amongst other things I don't sleep well anymore). So I usually wake up and can see what the suspect is up to. If he's still asleep, I'm not going to dump him, obviously. But if he knows my boundaries and is pushing them, then it's a different matter altogether. However, msflis, there's obviously a bit more to this story than mere preference. You're a smart girl. I'm sure you can figure it out. For anyone else I'm sure it'd be a delightful way to wake up. For me, it's too reminiscent of other problems. | |

I just do not get it. Two people who have sex regularly and love one another should be free to touch each other casually any time they like, as long as it is not in the shopping mall or something like that. How can you possibly have love and trust if your partner is going to call it a sexual assault when you lovingly touch her when she is asleep? That is plain and simply crazy. I want to know who all the women are here who feel that way so that I know who NOT to date, ever. | |

other-wise...lots of people have a "sleep" fetish....and apparently it's growing...
it doesn't mean that's all they like as some people think...just on occasion.
some women/men say it's ok to rub...etc...but to wake before penetration...
some say...wake me before anything....
some say...sure, go all the way and tell me about it in the morning....
some say...go all the way...then wake me up and WE can finish...
some women say...touch me...and you'll wake up tomorrow without IT...
it's all a matter preference/comfort/exploration limits...
the point is doing/trying anything without prior consent could definitely cause a problem...and seeing as how the majority of people here are adults...I don't get why so many people think that couples don't discuss this matter before hand.... | |

My fav thing to do is to catch her just before time to get up, when she has had some rest. Slid down the covers and give her lip service. Unfortunately, it is not something for the weak heart, cause I have had my head snapped back violently a time or two doing that. 
To date, I have not had it go an untowed way. I feel that it is being invasive and intrusive. Although I am corrected in my thinking and vigorously re-assured that it is ok. I still feel a little naughty doing it. And isn't that some of the fun in life, to be naughty at the appropriate times...

Until reading the latest responses on this thread, it honestly hadn't occurred to me why some people might object to this practice so strongly. For me it is entirely loving and fun; obviously, for others it is a reminder of unwelcome intrusion and a breach of trust, or it takes them a little too close to necrophilia. As another poster pointed out, this is yet another reason communication is so important for couples.
Cheshire, I am sorry if I seemed to be digging at a tender place. Not my intention at all--I was just surprised at your vehemence. And now I understand it.

Then I feel sorry for you. Maybe you've never been in a relationship when touching is welcome at anytime...and when touching more than likely leads to sex. It's not as if you're effing a corpse. The body is LOVING it. And the mind (at some point) feels it and goes with it. We're not talking about screwing an unmoving corpse here. We're talking about a responsive partner who is completely relaxed and uninhibited....not worrying about the laundry, or the car battery, or the kid's sore throat..someone who trusts you and welcomes your attention..whenever.
