both had an effect on me, as they were both things i never thought about before!
"If you had a dream you were so sure was real......."
Freaked me out for MONTHS! lol

| Has a film ever effected you in any way.. Posted: 9/22/2008 6:25:15 AM | I saw the film 'The Devils Rejects' the other week... now that film worries me!!
Also I have a real problem with watching any animal films (Lassie/Babe, etc), as they always set me a blubbering!! Guess I'm just a big softie at heart.
But the film that made me think a little was 'Inside I'm Dancing'... well worth watching!

Leaving Las Vegas. Truly a depressing film about how a man is bent on self destruction.
Best feel good film is "It's A Wonderful Life"

| Has a film ever effected you in any way.. Posted: 9/22/2008 7:51:49 AM | I watched "Poltergeist" when I was pretty young, maybe around 12? It scared me and scarred me for life. That was the turning point when I realised, clowns aren't friendly and fun, clowns, all clowns are evil and menacing!! Fact!
Another film that scared me witless was 'Salems Lot'. And I know it's not aged well, and to see David Soul hamming around with his tight, packet hugging, fawn coloured hipsters and tan leather jacket is perhaps a more scary image these days than the vampires themselves, but oh my, those Glick boys that came a rapping and a tapping on the window - to this day, I never sleep with my windows open, and the curtains have to be tightly shut.

I read the book way back in the 70's and The Glick boy scene is truly scary!!! The film really did capture the scene from the book vividly. I have to admit, I would never answer my window at night for a long time after that myself.

Oh, I remember that one, was on the telly in 2 parts...
Me and my sis went to the local chippy after the first episode and walked home in the middle of the road ( you do that in case something tries to grab you out of the hedge )..I set off to run, she set off to run, chips all over the road before we got home breathless ,chipless and scared half to death..

| Has a film ever effected you in any way.. Posted: 9/22/2008 8:17:03 AM | When i was a kid my oh so responsible dad let me and my brother watch Child's Play, ya know the film with the chucky doll and that scared the hell out of me for years!!
Matrix is a good example but to be fair a lot of the ideas in that film were ripped off from other films or books, even small things such as the blue and red pill part

I hate all these slasher type movies and would never date a man with shelves full of them. But I have been so drawn to Hostel and particularly Hostel 2. Awful awful scenario but very well filmed and a good story.
Oh and snakes on a plane gave me nightmares for weeks so I do try to avoid scary movies.
I have my favorite book Jane Eyre in every film that has been made and I cry every time I watch it, sad cow or what.

| Has a film ever effected you in any way.. Posted: 9/23/2008 1:43:58 PM | | The Trueman Show...with Jim Carey......I just picked it up one night in the video shop for a cosy night in watch. Shows I must be thick..but when the story line was revealed, my blood went cold. Still does now just re-living the memory! I went to a beautiful zoo in Tenerife the Summer after I had seen it.....and everyone was going on about these beautiful penguins who had been born at the zoo in a million pound snow filled 'penguin dome'....I got really upset to think that these penguins had never known 'life outside the dome' and accepted it. Made me wonder if we are all living inside another kind of dome..................scary! | |

| Has a film ever effected you in any way.. Posted: 9/23/2008 1:59:26 PM | Erm for me it would have to be A time to kill Amnistad Remember the titans Tears of the sun Blood Diamond
...films like that set me off everytime...reminds me is that it only takes one person to change the world and its perceptions and also how small the world really is...
I think films are a powerful emmotive tool that can really make a person think about things they have never contemplated before...
Mind you I watched the little mermaid the other day for the first time in years and though I say this rather ashamedly...*ahem* I sort of blubbed at the end of that...now thats sad LOL

Posted: 9/23/2008 4:38:16 PM | Remember the Titans - an outstanding film that I've watched many times, and still amazed at how recent racial prejudice still was , and how much times have changed ( and not ! ) I was also left with mixed emotions after watching " Whose life is it anyway " many years ago, starring Richard Dreyfuss. On a lighter note, Ferris Buellers day off reminds me to enjoy life and keep a lighthearted attitude.
