Is long term a myth?

I didn't use to think long term was a myth. I was married for 31 years before he died. Now that I find myself in unfamiliar dating mode, I'm finding it very difficult to even find someone to date. Talk about wanting something in seconds, minutes, hours...a person is rejected by looking at a single photo. People don't take a chance to even meet for a drink and the person they've rejected could actually be the best thing to enter their lives. I could add more to this but why bother? I can only change my way of thinking in regards to dating or looking for long term. I do doubt I'll be with anyone for 31 years again, but forever would be wonderful.

Dusty, I think that's one of the most genuine posts I've read on these forums. And I think it's an example example of how text can convey a persons emotions/feelings. I suspect you might be one of those elusive great females...so don't sell yourself short.

our culture of convenience has many casualties
long term relationships may just be 1 of them
I was discussing long-term relationships with a co-worker much younger than me and she made reference to her newest long-trm relationship of 3 months
and than I had to end our conversation and rush off because my microwave popcorn was done and I only had 15 minutes left of my lunch break
I suspect this what happens in many could have been long term relationships: rushing off because there is a perception that there is very little time left to consume all of the conveniences out in the world rather than enjoying the company of the person right in front of us
