Why do women take compliments as flirting? I used to pay a woman a compliment where I felt one was warranted but have since stopped even trying........because......too many horny-dog, rude, obnoxious, sexy-crazy and perverted men in this world have ruined this for the rest of us! (and we wonder why women are so defensive......duh) This, imo, is a plausible cause among a couple other less common causes. ________________________________ The reverse is true as well: Compliment a guy, say hi or give him a smile, and some will think you like him. The context in which a compliment is given, the manner in which it's delivered, subsequent interactions, etc.. should be taken into consideration before an assumption is made. Hopefully most adults gather more evidence before making a judgement. If not, well, life goes on. MistressDolly

Why else would a man stop and compliment a woman on her looks? Let's be honest. You're hoping she'll compliment you on yours, and you'll end up drinking coffee somewhere. Otherwise, why would you even say anything? compliments make me feel insecure around the guy because i don't consider myself a looker....its just plain weird when a guy gives a compliment and doesn't know you...its more creepy than anything else and yes its a sexual thing as far as i'm concerned Right. I agree with you ladies. The nerve of some guys. Every guy who compliments when you're not interested in them should be shot. Then the problems will be solved.

B/c we are. It serves no purpose to compliment someone unless you're expecting something from doing it. If you tell a cute girl she's cute, but you have no intention of doing anything w/ that, then you might as well tell her the color of her shoes. It'll fit the trend of supplying useless information.
