| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 6:27:31 PM | Re the OPost:
As a former policy maker, I was shocked by the "political/regulatory" mentality underlying the idea proposed in the Opost. The law and its courts cannot protect people against all kinds of ...... (beep), that is how we have almost wound up in modern societies with too many laws and little implementation, because they are too many and too complicated. A mess.
For any law to work, the problem it seeks to address has to have some characterisrics that make the law enforceable in practice, not theory. Has the proposer considered the side-effects and abuse possibilities of such a law? If implemented, it could destroy man - woman relations!
We have enough bad laws in all aspects of life to need another one.
And as the post above this one wisely notes:
"If you do not want to be used for sex and then be thrown away, you want some consequences against someone doing that sign a contract. A marriage contract."
I agree! The legal instruments for what the Oposter is concerned with already exists: Marriage! No sex before marriage is the way for a woman or man to address the concern voiced in the Opost!!!! Simple as ABC!

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 6:31:33 PM | And maybe we could pass a law that prevents women from getting fat after they get married and quit trying. Or maybe we could pass a law that women must continue having sex after marriage as often as they did while dating. Or that they stay inside the budget. And limit the number of pairs of shoes they can have.....
Obviously this post came from a woman who got dumped and is looking for people to pat her head and tell her it will be alright the NEXT time she shacks up with a loser.....
How did a post that has been done to death last 10 pages?

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 6:43:56 PM | Did anybody reverse the situation? I haven't read every page here..
OP, if you're still even reading this. You date a guy for several months. You sleep with him. It is the worst sex you ever had. You end the relationship even though you told him you loved him. How much time do you think you should have to serve based upon this law you proposed?

Posted: 1/4/2008 6:57:38 PM | This thread is like that****oach in the backyard that you step on and walk away....and it tries to crawl away after getting stepped on.... then you stomp on it again.... and walk away.... and even though it has half of it's abdomen missing, it's is still wiggling it's legs around trying to escape.
And i'm tempted to keep returning to see if the lil sh*t is dead yet. I didn't think this would last 10 pages.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 7:09:16 PM | | Females have a choice to spread their legs or keep them closed. There isn't a law because you can't be tricked into having sex. Instead of blaming the guys why doesn't the girls look at themselves to see why they are sleeping with someone that would do that. The guys might be dogs but the girls are stupid enough to be their chew toy. | |

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 7:09:42 PM | Let's try something here:
do you truely think the act or practice of deceiving, concealment or deliberate distortion of truth for the purpose of someones sexual gain is duplicity that the law should protect??? Replace sexual with financial.
and maybe should be seen as second class rape?? Replace second class rape with fraud.
because lets face it tricking somebody into bed with lies and conning them with the promise of long lasting love and maybe more!! is kind of wrong! Replace bed with matrimony.
And now, to answer the question:
do you think there should be laws against game players that trick you into sexual encounters and dress things up in deceit Sure... when there are laws against gold-diggers that trick you into marriage and dress things up in deceit.
isnt casual sex meant to be a both party consented thing on both sides! Sure... but frivilous sex is something you agree to. I've never been tricked into having sex with someone. If this is a problem you have... meh... maybe you should learn from your mistakes instead of expecting the world to protect you from your own poor judgment. I'd like to believe I've learned from my mistakes, but if I haven't and end up making the same ones again... shame on me. The law can't protect me from myself, because ultimately that's where the onus lies.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 7:12:38 PM | WELSHFUCHSIA...........I think it took a lot of courage for you to bring this topic up for debate on the forums.
A law preventing people from manipulating another into having a casual sexual encounter....... I don't know, but why not.....there is a law for everything else. Rape has become a crime but now there is a new line of thought for these predators.......you can't rape the willing, so they toy with the emotions of unsuspecting people who are truly seeking a relationship that includes more than the physical act of sex.
So how do they turn the unwilling into the willing...........by lying of course........they make you believe you are the most wonderful person on the planet and that there could never be anyone more special than you. Anyone who needs an ego boost would lap that up like a kitten with a dish of cream placed before them.
Years ago, people made business deals by word of mouth to con another out of their money which soon became outlawed, hence the law has created a paper chase for that. To con another into having casual sex by waving a possibly happy, healthy and fulfilling life partnership in front of them............what would be the difference? Both are con jobs......one is for money......the other is for sex. Maybe we should take tape recorders with us on dates and in the bedroom, if it goes that far.
A little older, a little wiser, I don't listen to words too much anymore.........I spend a lot more time analyzing their actions.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 7:18:31 PM | To Eastsideeddie ..... ... I love your comments!!
To those that think there should be a law against stupidity, then remember that if and when you get conned in one way or another.. consider yourself stupid instead of a "victim/pigeon". anyone can fall victim to a good con, whether for money or sex or some other thing. Remember the recent cons of people losing their houses from identity theft etc? Who does the law protect? the conartist or their targets/victims? Who are the ones you lable "stupid"? the young and naive and the elderly. Are some people that insensitive to other people? When has sex become so meaningless? To some people sex is to be shared with the one who shares your heart, not one that cons you into giving it away on false hopes.
And this business of good sex/bad sex.. remember fellas, when you point a finger at someone, there are 10 more pointing back at you! Some folks just can't measure up...
As for pulling up one's bootstraps and dusting themselves off to lesson's learned, yes, they should become wiser. It's a life lesson. That's for the young. ... could be your daughter that got the shaft. I raised my son well, and he had the girls chasing after him... he was a good catch and alot of the girls were riffraff... so I certainly defend young men and all men that get conned by unscrupulous women. How dare they?? Put them all in the stocks!!
FYI/ on the lighter side: Regarding stupidity and laws against it.. It's called Darwin's Law of Natural Extinction!!! they give out awards for that!!
This was definitely consensual and deserving of the award: (20 June 2007, South Carolina) A 21 year-old couple was found naked in the road an hour before sunrise by a passing cabbie. The unconscious, injured pair was taken to the nearest hospital, where they died without regaining consciousness. Authorities were at a loss to explain what had happened. There were no witnesses, no trace of clothing, and no wrecked cars or motorcycles.
Investigators eventually found a clue high on the roof of a nearby building: two sets of neatly folded clothes, and nothing else. There was no indication of foul play, only of foreplay. "It appears as if [they] accidentally fell off the roof," Sgt. Florence McCants said.
Safe sex takes on a whole new meaning when you are perched on the edge of a pyramid-shaped metal roof.
This is a true Darwin Award trifecta: TWO people die, WHILE in the act of procreation, due to an ASTONISHINGLY poor decision. Bottom line: If you put yourself in a precarious "position" at the edge of a pointy roof, you may well find yourself coming and going at the same time.
Ironically, one of the deceased was named, "Tumbleston." (Some reports list the name as "Tubleston.") ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Betrayal of Trussed 1999 Personal Account (30 April 1999) NOTE: Since the potential Awardee survived the incident fully intact except probably for his marriage and his career, this incident is only an Honorable Mention. One night, firefighters rescued a German billionaire businessman from a swiftly moving blaze threatening his suite at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the German city of Cologne. Big deal, you might say. That's what firefighters are for - to save people from fires. It's just that in this case, they also saved the businessman from a kinky S&M situation straight out of the Marquis de Sade.
The sizzling saga began shortly after midnight, when the tycoon hired a 28-year old dominatrix named "Ramona" to bind, gag, whip, and otherwise humiliate him in his $400-per-night suite. (Golden showers, anyone?) Ramona was really no different from anyone else plying her trade - she was outfitted in fishnet stockings, chain-mesh bra, six-inch spike heels. And she was packing the usual equipment, too - cat-o-nine-tail whips and other nasty sex toys. It would all have been just another session of normal S&M sex, but then a fire broke out in the adjoining suite.
The fire broke out in the $1700-per-night suite occupied by billionaire computer mogul Charles Wang of Wang Computers. While Wang was taking a bath in his sauna, the fire broke out. Unaware of his neighbor's in-progress sex session, Wang tore into the hallway and began warning the other hotel guests to flee. Ramona heard Wang's warning about the fire, and heeded it. She dropped her whip and left her client tied to the bed and unable to call for help. (She wasn't a "stand-up girl" for either normal OR abnormal sex!)
When hotel workers and firefighters began a room-to-room search for endangered guests, they entered Ramona's suite and stumbled across the bizarre scene that looked like something out of a triple-XXX porn flick. Firefighters then stopped laughing long enough to fetch some cutting equipment to free the red-faced, beat-red tycoon, while still battling the flames. Evidently the tycoon's clothing was destroyed and the hotel workers couldn't be stopped from blabbing, either, because, "He was very crimson. People cheered him in the lobby as he ran out with just a sheet wrapped around himself, which certainly added to his embarrassment," a fire department spokesman said. Authorities refused to identify the wealthy executive, other than to say that he was a "senior business executive" with a wife and two children. (Not much longer!) They added that the kinky caper could easily have cost him his life.
The unnamed executive was one of 244 high-powered guests at the Hyatt for an invitation-only business summit, which was also attended by such bigwigs as Ford Motor Vice President Nick Scheele. The $1700-per-night suite where the fire broke out had also been designated to be President Clinton's suite as he attended the E-8 Economic Summit two months later. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(3 March 2002, England) As Kim and Paul left the Sheffield pub, they noticed that a streetlight was burned out, creating a pool of darkness on the road. Unable to rein in their passion, they began to canoodle -- consummate their relationship -- on the asphalt outside the pub. Witnesses said the couple was lying right on the white line, kissing and cuddling.
The passionate pair were warned of the danger of their coital position not once, not twice, but three times -- by a car driver, a bus driver, and a pedestrian. An off-duty paramedic honked and shouted, "You want to get up, otherwise you'll be run over." The man simply said "Cheers, mate," and the paramedic heard a female laughing. A bus driver swerved to avoid them, and drove past with wheels on the curb. A concerned pedestrian shouted to warn them that another bus was headed their way.
Despite these disruptions, Kim and Paul continued, oblivious to the approach of a small, single-decker Nipper bus. The bus driver mistook the undulating shape for a bag of rubbish in the poorly lit street, and was unable to stop in time. There was a dull thud...
Kim and Paul were struck and killed at midnight. Paramedics found Kim lying on her back with her jumper pulled up, and Paul between her legs with his trousers pulled down.
The only downside to this timely removal of lunacy from the gene pool is the fate of the bus driver. Despite the couple's irregular actions, and a police investigator's statement that "to expect a driver to anticipate a pedestrian lying in the road is out of the ordinary," a judge fined him for careless driving, and his license was revoked for six months. Fortunately, his employers consider him an excellent employee, and plan to give him other duties for six months. Relatives of the victims said they were glad the driver had kept his job.
This tale surely answers the Beatles' question, "Why don't we do it in the road?"

As one poster said, didnt there used to be the facility to sue for breach of promise many years ago which reminded me, in view of the original post, there may have been (in some cases) sound reasons for the ninetenth century classification of women with lunatics......

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 7:43:07 PM | I could read through all ten pages of the post but I’m going to skip ahead… LOL
For all intense purposes I do understand what the OP is suggesting, but there should never be any type of law against this, because there is no way to prove it…and in many cases could just be that one person decides the relationship is not working and nothing more...
As several people have said, no one can Talk you or Trick a person into sex, if they are a mentally functioning adult. They can lie through their teeth and say they have deep feelings for you or that they love you and you end up sleeping with them weeks or months into the relationship, but how do you prove that was trickery? Maybe it isn’t in many cases….
I know that for me a relationship has to have both aspects that have chemistry and it has to be sexual and emotional. (but not in that order) And for any person on here who is not 20’ish or a virgin, (I don't mean any disrespct there, I'm just saying) you know what I mean when I say that the way a person has sex with you reveals a lot about their personality and how they feel about you as a person; an extremely selfish person in bed, is an extremely selfish person in other ways, but maybe they can hide that better for the time being…
Most people who are just ‘players’ man or woman will not wait around for months to sleep with you, they’d just move on. So chances are that in a lot of these instances emotional attachment happened, but there was no compatibility in the bedroom. Hence the reason people may move on after that because they realize it won’t work out…
Since there is no way to determine which is which, it would be a horrible thing to try and convict someone of a crime in that circumstance…People should wait longer before sleeping with the next person, if they feel they are constantly being taken advantage of in this manner…Otherwise they need to own up to the fact this might happen and not place blame solely on the other person, and just move on…
There are laws to protect us in these types of instances if money starts disappearing etc and it's a scam, or in the instance of a marriage that appears to be a sham provoked by one person.... but past that, while we are single it's our own responsibility to give sex or not, and if we give it to a person undeserving than the blame falls on us and no one else...

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 7:43:55 PM | Men play games online all the time, I do understand she saying she was "tricked" into having sex because they may make you believe they are serious about a relationship, in my experience these are men who don't have their act together either financially or emotionally and all they can do is try to score and then vanish, in truth you are better off, they really have nothing else to offer and are only looking for validation. As far as a law... just don't trust anyone who professes their undying love in a couple of dates. Try reading the horror stories on Ivillage.com about online dating... it's all a game that is why I don't take anything seriously that goes on here.. and I apologize to those who are sincere, it is not my intention to offend anyone, I just haven't met anyone like that online. Real life is different very different. | |

Posted: 1/4/2008 7:56:48 PM | Im sorry nobody gets tricked into having sex, since you consent to it how is it that you are tricked? like I said earlier, its some people that ignore the red flags and gut feelings and let there emotions act without the benefit of intellect.
Sure some men play games , but when will some people start using their common sense ???

Anyone who needs an ego boost would lap that up like a kitten with a dish of cream placed before them. Or pitch it out like a fork full of bullsh*t! Which is exactly what the op's friend will hopefully do when the next "deceiter" comes a callin because she's already seen evidence that he'll not be giving her what she thought she was looking for.
And, OP I still believe in this instance that your friend was not deceived. I don't think he would hang around for months to just get some..unless he had others he was having the pleasure of while he waited for her... If this is twas the case, then she should have seen those clues. I think we all agree that it still hurts regardless. But to inact a law against it is impossible. Like I said, maybe a social-worker run program for the perceived, deceived would be a more feasible solution.

Back then women WERE kept dumbed down and "chastity" and virtue were indeed valuable...
Here a more appropriate quote for you....
It is better to keep ones mouth shut and appear STUPID than to open it and remove all doubt.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 1/4/2008 8:16:05 PM | 1. How do you trick someone into havign sex? It sounds more like your freinds date low lifes who like to lie or maybe they thought they wanted more and found out your friends are nuts and wante dout of the relationship. Maybe your freinds are sluts and sleep with anyone they meet. If the sex is consensual its not a crime. Rape is when sex is forced or the person in incompacitated and does not have the ability to say no. There is a clear definiation there. what you are looking for is to crimminalize the act of sex for pleasure and to punish men. It sounds like you may be a feminazi. Waht the hell is inner dignity. Tell your friends not to date creeps or to have sex with people that cant; be trusted.
I enjoy sex and usually end up having it early in the relationship. But if I don't like or trust the girl then it is not going to happen. There are people who will tell lies. Hell I a man have been used too. A lesbian used me for sex to take her virginity. she never told me she was a lesbian. She brekaps upw ith me 2 days after the sex and I find her a month later int eh women's center at my college french kissing another girl.
You seek to punish men for what crime lying? unless they are spreading rumors or lying in court there is no crime. It is not a crime to hurt other people's feelings in fact some people will get offended for any number of reasons. Tell your freinds to date guys who come form good families and share the same values as your friends. That's my advice.

How do you trick someone into having sex with you?........well, the same way another tricks another into loaning them money.....and the other party has no intention of ever paying it back. Manipulation and a lot of sweet talking. Judge Judy has several cases on her show like that.

There's a solution: Take them to small claims court and in front of a room full of people try to prove how you were "tricked" into concensual copulation.???
If i was a guy and i heard a girl had done this i would go on as many dates as i could with as many women as i could and spend as much money as i could on them, then at the end of the night i would ask each one of them to have sex with me. When they said no i would ask for them to then pay me back for half of everything I've spent if they refused i would take the receipts of my purchases for the date and sue them all for the money.

A girlfriend of mine went on a date with a guy and it didn't work out, and she eventually fell out of contact with him. MONTHS LATER he calls her on some random day while she was out shopping and he demanded that since it didn't work out, she should give him money for half the date.
