| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 9:38:03 AM | | read the contract ,by your own example you have to pay attention in life, if a car salesman tells you 10 grand on a car and writes 20 in the contract and you sign the contract , who is the one really in the wrong? take that to court and you will be ordered to pay the 20 , same with a guy if he promises you a bed of roses ya know there is a prick there somewhere its your responsibility to avoid it . If a guy is promising things in the first few week s and you sleep with him based on those promises, you still have no one to blame but you , just like the car your not getting a caddilac at a hoopty price read the fine print, a guy that makes promises of the future in a few weeks s either really desperate and kinda weirdo or , hopeing you are desperate . | |

There should be rules for people with so little self respect that they risk their lives falling into bed with people they don't know... more rules for those who then blame the experience on the person they didn't know!
Self respect... priceless! I think it is called bleaching the gene pool.... responsibility for our actions... what a novel concept. I have kids, and I am teaching them to be responsible for their actions.... did someone else miss that lesson?

Posted: 4/8/2008 9:45:04 AM | | well allowing your self to be "Tricked" in to sex mav be naive, but to suggest a law to punish people for doing the tricking is pretty much what beachbunnie said , or maybe even perhaps the words as a box of rocks could be used instead of dirt , there are far to many ridiculous laws on the books already ,to suggest more is damn near Bush like

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 9:56:33 AM | I can't believe this ridiculous proposal is STILL being debated after 30 pages and 3 months. A fair number of people shot it down in the first day, let alone ninety, but since it's been 30 pages since I posted my opinion I'm going to re-insert it here (note the language was directed at the OP on page 1): ========================================================= This is without a doubt the most absurd legal movement I've ever heard of!
Aside from the obviously-dangerous precipice of involving the State in personal affairs, you are trying to establish a precedent that would open the gateway to legal repercussions on ANYONE that hurts another person's FEELINGs.
We're all adults here, and sadly some of us wear our hearts on our sleeves and are more easily read than others. There is NO WAY for you to PROVE intent to deceive unless your so-called "player" has left a video tape or dated-journal of his Machiavellian schemes to toy with your gal-pal's heart, along with a step-by-step plan of attack and full legal confession...
The very premise suggested is ABSURD, ludicrous, naive, pathetic and plain sad, for lack of other disparaging adjectives which fail to come to mind at the moment.
Pray tell: did your conned, hapless damsels actually ENJOY the sex when it occurred? If so, it sounds like you're proposing second-degree rape is applicable to any situation where a woman gets dumped after the fact, regardless of whether she enjoyed his company DURING the "relationship"...
How terribly convenient this hindsight-driven "law" would be for the female species...(**turns on sarcasm megaphone**) I can't POSSIBLY see it being abused to their advantage...

Maybe he did feel love for you but when it came down to basics you were no good in bed. You may be half the problem.
Everytime I read this kind of statement, I can't help but think...someone who really cared about you, wouldn't dump you after one occasion of sex, even if it was less than hoped for, would they?..my experience says sex gets much better with time and once you get familiar with each other...or, even besides that..if you really cared about someone, you would at least make an effort to fix it wouldn't you? Or have men really gotten that cold blooded, and unemotional? You fail to live up to his standards/fantasy the first time..he's outta there?...sigh...how sad...
It's particularly funny that men keep saying this like women will respond..oh..thats' ok then..I failed the sex test..lol...that makes me feel so much better...lol..and here I thought he just hit it and ran....
And keep in mind..I'm speaking of someone you supposedly care about , at least to some degree, already...

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 10:10:47 AM | | No.. how do you get tricked into a sexual encounter??? That is ridiculous. Either have sex.. or don't. Your choice. Upset because he lied and is actually married?? Deal with it - guys lie about that all the time, they have since marriage was invented. Rape is a different story and is a crime - rightly so. The real underlying theme here is - most - women's complete lack of assertiveness, thereby opening themselves up to being 'tricked' into having sex. Is it a crime? No, so there shouldn't be a law against it any more than there should be a law against stupidity. | |

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 10:23:33 AM | | This has got to be the most retarded thread ever ! I feel more sorry for the guy who " Strung your friend on for months" as stated in post # 3. I can only imagine the bad case of Blue balls he must of had wait'n months before get'n any play. How bout us men sue women for string'n us along so we can take them out on dates and spend money on them only to bounce once they find somebody with deeper pockets ? If you don't want any sexual encounters either date a 10 year old or a Priest!! Who know's you might be able to get both of them at the same time. But by all means leave us normal guys ALONE .... MEMO: " MEN LOVE SEX !!! ok now you have the freak'n memo hang it up on your freezer ! | |

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 10:29:16 AM | Ive sat and read a few pages of this thread purely because it was quite amusing to see the OP trying to justify their insanity lol.
Ive never ever heard something so daft in my life!!
not to mention that.. you are completely missing out the fact the the alledged "player" may have genuinely had some feeling for the other person which was lost along the way.... im pretty sure that most of the people on here have got into a sexual situation and ended up thinking "god, what am i doing??" IMO that doesnt make you anything more than unsure.. so hey, lets have a law against being unsure too!!
on a less sarcastic note - you also have to realise that to a lot of the population, sex is a purely physical act... not neccesarily emotional as it seems to be with a proportionate amount of women out there so there may have been absloutely no malice intended.
still.... crazy notion!!

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 10:38:02 AM | The inherent problem with the theory of making a law like this comes down to one simple one syllable word....
"Proof"
You can not prove, no matter how much you know that a guy, or in some cases woman, played you and got only what they wanted. Therefore no case based on this kind of law would be able to be tried or convicted unless someone was stupid enough to leave a digital or paper trail outlining their nefarious plot to "do the deed"

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 10:39:29 AM | I think there should be laws against stupidity.
One of the oldest wise-ass sayings is: All is fair in love and war!
Males certainly have the ability to be deceptive , but for the most part are amateurish in that endeavor when compared with the habitual, insidious and routinely deceptive behavior of females especially in our society.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 10:51:05 AM | Holy hannah, i just had to pop in something here. i only read the first page and seriously was both chuckling and amazed at the ludicrous nature of the replies from the OP. And i quote from her: "grow up this is debate! and a place for open opinions and views".. She is so ironic as every post that went against her thoughts, which i believe was virtually every one.. she lambasted with a higher-than-thou attitude.
Wow, while i believe everyone is indeed entitled to their opinion, there are times that the opinion stated really causes one to wonder...
In the example of the car salesman way back on page 1: get the supposed player to sign a contract before the dirty deed, ask him for $10k if he leaves you in 1 year.. there, that is just so sane.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 10:52:55 AM | | your premise is unbelievable! DON'T YOU THINK the police and other authorities have already gotten their foot into america's bedrooms? now you want to give them yet another reason to intrude into individual privacy. if a woman or a man cannot think for themselves on the matter of sex, they have no business playing the game. we need far fewer laws in this country, not more. shame on you for even suggesting such legislation to those eager lawyers-turned-elected representatives to give them and the justice system even more power over our lives. arizonarick | |

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/8/2008 2:16:33 PM | YES DEFINITELY should be a law....
Any woman who is stupid enough to get tricked into sex... should have to pay some sort of "STUPIDITY" fine. She is likely to get pregnant, and be a burden to the state through welfare.. or become a carrier of an STD... and be a burden to the state's Medicaid.
Maybe.. like drunk driving, or speeding, if you do it to many times in too short of a period, you face some jail time...

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 4/9/2008 5:15:56 AM | ^Actually, you'll find that if you can get a goat close enough to a cliff, it'll back up instinctively. Why fight with your hands when you can have the 'real' thing ? lmao
Anyway, seriously, I want to know what a guy says to trick a woman into dropping her pants for him. Maybe it's not actually what he says but who he targets. I don't really know any women so stupid that you could just talk them into having sex despite their stern refusal otherwise. Where do I find these women ? Wait...I know of at least one.

In a way I do think there should be a law against people that decieve others into a sexual encounters. It is not consentual if one person is making their decision based on fraudulent and misleading information. It is definately wrong. Force might not have been involved but it can leave a person feeling victimized.
See, now I thoroughly agree with DivineAdvisor there, we should pass a law against people that mislead us with fraudulent and misleading information... what should we set the jail time at, 20 years sound good? Lets start with GWB, taking us to war over Iraq's "WMD's" - I sure *feel* mislead based on fraudulent information!!
Of course, every new law has to be passed either in your state assembly, or congress (for federal laws).... so I think all those that agree should band together and lobby their politicians for a new law that "lying, providing misleading information to any person, in order to gain any benefit, should be illegal and carry jail time". Good luck with that!!
