| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 7/28/2008 1:45:06 PM | OP... so what you're implying is that women are too stupid in general to realize that they've been played... or at least not as good as men on average to realize when they've been played. Yeah right!
And you're also saying that women *NEVER* play men... yeah right. I know of plenty of instances of that.
Oh and I have many MALE friends who more and more have been victims of misleading and un-savory behaviour. Behaviour like dancing sexy with you at a club and then leaving with another guy. Or being told that she's just hanging out with the girls tonight but then you see the girl french kissing some other guy later on. Or even after dating for a while, suddenly no more returned calls and you find that she started seeing some other guy. Yes... women do that too.
If a sexist law like you propose were introduced, I would vigorously fight to either have it struck off the books or have it applied to men and women equally.

Posted: 9/25/2008 7:34:18 PM | | Don't know about laws to protect the vulnerable but there should be something. I haven't been tricked into sex per se but I have seen some use some pretty interesting stories to get a woman's sympathy. Mental manipulation. In this case the harm is the long term effects to the woman. But then again this is only online, right? I don't believe that is a valid reason for manipulating vulnerable women into agreeing to sex or even to agreeing to sex talk. Predators come in all shapes and sizes. It is wrong and makes one very cautious about meeting new people on line.

Posted: 9/25/2008 8:04:55 PM | | I love your comment...because the sad thing about "stupid" people is if they knew they were stupid they would do something about it. So if you really feel that someone was able to "trick" you into having sex and they weren't holding a knife to your throat then you are truely one of the stupid people and perhaps you should just stay home and not date. Life is a judgement call, trust your instincts, you can stay at home or encounter life...but either way you are responsible for saying "yes, " learn from it and move on. Don't beat yourself up too badly, experience builds wisdom.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 9/25/2008 10:07:02 PM | | This is the reason a woman who does not want to be a victim should know how to play the game. It is a human nature that "a person wants something for nothing." I don't believe that a man develope love that fast, lust in a blink of eye yes. For man is born polygamous ,and they are competitive species. Deceit, lies, conning to win is their game, but if a woman beat them with their game, they change into a good man. It takes two to tango, hahaha ,so you need a law to protect not to be bedded by stranger ,and term it second class rape ? what about his counter defense that you enjoyed it so much and crying for more ? Let us not be silly, and use our God given intelligence for our life. | |

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 9/25/2008 11:08:10 PM | ~OP I feel this way on your topic ... One can not be tricked into doing somthing that they choose not do.
Should there be laws no I think when you are two consenting adults then it's more a less a mutal thing. The funny thing is so many online are dishonest and there is lots of deceit as well as shallow games we all play not just one sex but all male / female as the person says above I totaly agree it takes two to tango not just one.
Use your head and not for a hat rack and also good common sense many people and there lives are ruined from being accused of rape , you can't rape the willing what will the defence be if there were such laws in affect ?
I'm met someone personaly that was accussed of such an act and he did not rape the girl he was sent to prison for crime he did not commit and he set there broke beaten felt defeated and then realized that he was not guilty that he was set up the girl cried rape when it was consensual sex he did some time for a crime he did not commit this is so wrong and this thread makes no dang sense!
This induval lost his business , home and his good name to a small town , community that wanted him to hang cause the girl cried Rape and was willing ! She more than consented to the act of raw sex.
I agree with the Maddy ...It is down right ridiculous!!!!
As the person above say use the intelligence that God so gave you ! -Brenny- I'm Out !.................................................................

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 9/26/2008 1:44:41 AM | To protect one from being "taken advantage of" is not restricted to men or women,,,one is never tricked once they become more worldly,,,as a man who does understand your "experience",,,all one can do is learn from the experience and move towards the next sunrise,,,place that behind you,,do not hold it against anyone in the future,,,take your time and really communicate learn about that new person in your life,,as sooner or later they will enter it,,,yet in all fairness,,,from what you expressed,,,it seems that you were fine with the inter reaction,,,,yet it was afterwards that they walked away,,,,that can happen even after many years of marriage,,,there is alot more going on in your sensuality, sexuality,,,your ability to screen out those players,,,before even the first date,,,did you ever think that maybe there is some common reason why they walked away ,,you do not express if any communication took place afterwards,,,thats the key issue,,,what took place after wards,,,you see even just a date with NO sexuality,,,something takes place during and after the date,,,if they do not call ,,,or RETURN the calls,,,that is also a type of rape,,,rape of all the emotions shared, expressed,,and shared,,,yet nothing physcial took place,,,I know myself,,if for any reason I seek from the other what ,how, why did anything change from what was communicated that we both learned from and advanced ourselves, self improvement,,,
To have even the first face to face meeting and not discover we would be compatable,,,than yes,,,i8 would like to learn how it could have been avoided,,,yet if no answer back one just looks inside themselves,,turns to the next sunrise and moves on,,,,anyone who can provide you any answer NOT knowing the full 3 sides is fooling themselves,,,A side,Bside, and the facts ,,,somewhere in what your not communicating is a combation of AB and the facts,,,thus the real truth, real reason,,,,
Learn, experience, self discovery and move on,one only loses dignity if they allow themselves to do so,,,never keep reliving the bad,,,or the beautiful may pass you by while your distracted,,,HAVE a great day,,,Dave:)

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 10/5/2008 5:09:29 PM | | America is the land of "Buyer Beware". I'd be willing to vote for a law such as you suggest...IF it were applicable against women who lie as well. You know...women who claim to be blonde, but aren't. Women who wear wigs, false eye lashes, fake fingernails, etc. Women who claim to be sellf employed, but turn out to be single moms on welfare. Women lie as much as any man...or more. The sales pitch is not what counts in sexual contracts. When you consent to have sex with someone you are saying "I want to have sex with you", and he is saying the same about you, and neither of you is lieing about that. If the reason you want to have sex with him is because he said: he is single, he loves you, he is a virgin, etc, etc, and you belived him, you are SOL legally. Mild fraud is allowed-even when selling cars/etc-because of the "Buyer Beware" principle of American law. It says that if someone tells you a big enough lie, and you are stupid enough to believe it, you deserve to get ripped off. So...once your law gets passed, and the courts are clogged with 10 million sexual fraud cases per month, and there are no courtrooms, judges, clerks, bailiffs, lawyers, etc, to try the murderers, rapists, armed robbers, etc, and you get upset about that, what will you do...vote to repeal the sex fraud law...or vote for higher axes to hire more judges, etc, to deal with serious criminals? | |

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 10/6/2008 12:12:02 AM | | Maybe some guy tricked her into sex by claiming he was Will Smith's bodyguard and would get her into Will's next movie if she did him. If so, she has no chance in court under current law. If she changes the laws so such sex fraud is punishable, she will have to pay MUCH higher taxes to fund the prosecutions/punishments. I wonder which she will hate more then...the higher taxes, or the sex fraud tricksters. | |

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 10/6/2008 2:28:37 AM | You know the question was ludicrous, how ever a little amusing. A small modicum of funny. As in one side of my mouth, the right side I think lifted a fraction. What is the amount of the fraction? Hmmmm I'm a girl I don't know. We don't whip statistics out of our azz....
I'd say it was maybe 2% amusing, 98% pathetic need for more women's attention since the OP was being so heroic as to suggest actual judicial legislation of men's bad behavior.
Wow wonder what the % of men who would support THAT bill in Congress would be....?
What's far more amusing - like 99.99% amusing are some of the people's posts within this thread.
I don't approve of recycling threads from the late 70's so that we dumb azzes have something to new and exciting to DO on POF on the weekends, but apparently it works for the Admin.
I'd guess by pulling a number of out of my arm pit that 93.5% of POF people do not approve of the rehashing of topics on the weekend, yet 72% of the people online on POF continue to respond to them,
in spite of the fact that 86% of the people who created the antiquated threads in the first place have all now died.
60% died from Cancer.
17% died from Heart Disease
12% died from complications of surgery
42% were killed in a car crash from the results of having unprotected sex 98% of their adult life that caused them to suddenly suffer from STD related blindness - "hey it just happened! Suddenly I was blind!" - the other 2% thought the blindness was caused by masturbating as a child. They thought this just before driving into a 50% birch and 50% Colorado Pine tree that had suddenly sprung up infront of their vehicle. (Don't you hate when trees jump infront of your car?)
57% simply died of old age while waiting to date someone who was date worthy and put up with their chit long enough to hook up.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 10/6/2008 3:16:34 AM | If you had sex under 'false pretenses'...and then you find out something that had you known at the time, you know you would not have done the deed...
Thats like every decision you make every day-we all look back at tons of things and think-'had I known'..I would have chosen this instead of that.
It is called hind sight for a reason.
Im not making light of this-It is hurtful to be lied to.
Go slow, really get to know the person before you give so much of yourself. Remember, with online, you have no clue if someone is being honest. Keep that in mind as you are getting to know someone and follow your intuition.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 10/8/2008 2:27:24 PM | I totally agree with OP.
Most people know it happens all the time. Lying, coercing, schmoozing, big-time, done by men who only want sex.
Some - lots of - women are lonely and vulnerable. They're emotionally-based. Guys know this. Some even laugh about it and get a kick out of it. Especially when they're able to "bag" some poor woman who thought she was special, but "should have known".
Exactly HOW should she have known? Does she need psychic abilities? How would a woman know when a guy she likes, who is being sweet, attentive, romantic, and acting interested, might be lying the whole time about how he feels about her?
It is so sad to read here the continual blaming of people who were duped and fooled. Those people feel bad and dumb enough without getting insult added to injury.
And the women on these forums who regularly assign blame to the duped women by saying they should have known - honestly, NONE of you've ever been fooled by a guy, then dumped the minute after he got his? I find that very hard to believe.

| Do you think there should be laws against people who trick you into sexual encounters! Posted: 10/8/2008 8:37:54 PM | Seriously, how do you get tricked into sex? And if there's any inkling of it not being what you want, why are you there? And if the other person is not sincere, well, I guess it's a chance we all take. Hopefully, the sex was good.
"I think it might be more useful to have laws against stupidity" - I'm with poppabear.
And while we're talking about laws against trickery, shouldn't we hold our government accountable ... in that instance we all just got screwed ... no consent involved ... and not even an inkling of good sex. Let the players be players, stop the government from being players ... with our money and our future!

Posted: 10/12/2008 10:28:59 PM | "Ooops!, I tripped and fell into your vagina" Now THAT would be an accident....right? LMAO despite our seemingly infantalized society you cant legislate every behavior that you deem to be "morally unethical". We would be a nation cowering in fear of sex, for fear we would have to go to court and prove to THE WHOLE WORLD! (btw) that that sexual encounter was NOT rape. Its called taking personal responsibility, you get burned, you suck it up, put your big girl (boy) panties on, LEARN what not to do next time, and MOVE ON. Period.
