Wow. That was you trying to be witty? May "strong and silent" would work better for you then. I doubt that caliber of "wit" will get you anywhere.

Maybe I should rephrase these questions. I agree that romance is different with all people. Some like simple things like touch, affirmation, creative gifts, others like time, acts and so forth. That i get. The question I guess I'm asking, is when you are in the beginning of building a solid relationship, does a romantic man turn a woman off? I understand that there are fake men out there, that women have been burned by them, but there are also genuine men that believe in these morals and attributes.

I don't like the common idea of romance.... bleccch. It's just so phoney.

Real romance is spontaneous and comes from the heart...AND takes into account the nature of the person you are with. I had a relationship once with an English Professor, he wrote me a love poem. From anyone else I probably would not have appreciated it as much, but this guy could write, and it was a natural expression of who he was.

Flowers just make me wonder what he feels guilty about...

the whole "dinner and candlelight" is so cliché as to be ultimately boring. Creativity is always a good thing.

For me... romanticism in a man is only genuine when he let's down his guard and ignores what he has learned through society as being "romantic" and expresses his feelings in a way that shows he's allowing himself to be vulnerable. That will melt a heart every time.

IMHO

Is a romantic man a turn off
Nope not the last I knew, But he better be genuine.

Does this mean he is a pushover?

smacks head Pushover How and what.

Is it bad that he can communicate freely and actually listen to his partner

And he is still single.. Why? does he have 2 noses what?

What can he do to improve his chances of actually getting a response from a woman?

If this man is real. I mean really real. He should have no problems in this area.. Most of us can smell a fake a mile off.

does a romantic man turn a woman off?

No this doesn't turn me off. Actually a truly romantic man is a turn on.. Romance is a very personal thing. It comes from the heart. Romance to me is doing the little things for a person. For example.... Something as simple as pouring that extra cup of coffee in the am.. or bringing her a single flower.. To something as elaborate as a hot air balloon ride..
IMO anyways

OP,

No offense, but this is a silly question. I would wager that most women would not find a romantic man a turnoff. However, you better put your money where your mouth is. ;)

Sassy...YOU ROCK! This ladies and gentlemen is a woman who expresses clearly and concisely and look! she has a pulse. And feeling. What a rarity. Not that all of you don't feel what you write but didn't we all feel her vibe?

Don, You're on the money. It matters. It matters to you. Isn't that what's most important?

AHHH Romance, Chivalry, Manners and depth of character.

Personify the dream. Isn't LOVE grand?
