| Why do divorced women have so many dogs?
Posted: 1/5/2008 11:37:28 PM | Well as a divorced woman, I only have one dog. All my divorced friends have cats. I always thought that they became cat ladies... isn't that the stereo type LOL
I only have one dog and he is old and once he is gone, no more. No kids at home, no dog at home. I will be able to come and go as I please.

She doesn't like the footy or the wrestling. She doesn't have her friends around screaming "scull scull scull". She doesnt 'time' me when I go to the shops. She never tells me what I should be wearing.....dog or man?.....mmmmm let me think about it. | |

They would rather trust and be with an animal. The man is in second place to a dog, sad but true in many cases. | |

Posted: 1/6/2008 9:23:12 AM | The main reason, like the responses on here, is unconditional love. Also, a sense of companionship. I was both a dog owner and a cat owner. Had a cat, but gave it to my mom when I had to move after graduation. Nothing is great when coming home and feel wanted and loved. Coming home with your pet waiting for you and rushing after you.
We can learn alot from our pets, like when our spouses come home from work just atleast greet and make them feel wanted...not demand a beer as soon they walk through the door...hah. | |

It's not the same as getitng an aged cat or dog, they form such a sweet bond with you get them young.
I am Legend (the movie) has a great example of it. The only friend Will Smith has is a cute puppy by the name of Samantha. I suggest you watch it = ) I want one! | |

Posted: 1/25/2008 10:59:32 PM | As much as I dislike most cats I would probably choose one over a dog for the simple fact that having a dog in the city just wouldn't work for me. Cats are obnoxiously independent and that would be better.
But... I hate litter boxes. Therefore...

I have 2 dogs and 3 kids living at home.My dogs are not a substitute for my children. We have dogs because we love them. They are loyal, loving, don't answer back and are always pleased to see you. Where can you find a man like that ?????

Maybe they like dogs more because they can be an alarm system or protection?
They probably just like the companionship of a dog.
They ARE needy, after all, and dependent. Hmmmm... maybe their previous husbands were too? :P

where did you find this wonderful piece of information ? I'm sure all us divorced women would love to know.
2)They ARE needy, after all, and dependent-
divorced women are not necessarily needy.In fact, you will probably find that divorced women are stronger and not at all needy,unlike a lot of younger single women who have not yet enjoyed the wonderful enjoyment marriage can bring (yes,I am being sarcastic !) being divorced does not mean you are desperate ! If anything, you actually get fussier and won't just settle for 2nd best anymore !
