Well because I was trying to be polite and I already knew that it wasn't going anywhere, plus I didn't want him to catch me getting in my car in the parking lot as he was going out to get his cigarettes. I think he got the message not long after he got back, so the date lasted for maybe an hour if that. Just another lesson I learned and don't plan on doing in the future.
Not meaning to dump on you but the reason you gave for not leaving early is pretty weak. You say that you didn't want him catching you getting in your car when he went for the cigarettes, but yet you left when he did anyway. So........... There's nothing wrong with cutting off a bad date early. It helps BOTH people.I don't know anybody who hasn't had some bad dates.Men AND women. | |

I think it would not have been a very comfortable situation for him to see me go to my car after I had told him I wasn't going to when he asked me. I knew the situation wasn't going anywhere, but I didn't want to make it worse by him seeing me leave. I think a lot of people would have done the same thing in my situation. | |

It's funny how people on the net come across as being so normal, and when you do meet them they are nothing like you thought. though I remain to be open minded I try to not take this internet thing too serious, people can pretent to be whom ever they want, I would have got up and leave from the moment he blew smoke in my direction, and the part about you look like you need to have sex I would have been out of there he has no respect. I do hope the next date was much better. there are some serious and honest people on the net I guess you just have to get past all the crazy insane ones to get to the good ones. Free and as much fun ( at least for me since I am not dating anyone at the moment ) as going out and paying for jacked up prices, being in a huge crowd of drunk people and the chance to get killed by a drunk driver.
Going out on NYE was fun when I was younger. But it is like going to bars, you realize that this is a phase and do you remember what you did on NYE 5 years ago unless you got into some kind of trouble or met the woman of your dreams?
You kind of outgrow the need to go out and party as you get in your 50's.
Now if I did have the chance to be in a nice resort on NYE, that is another story but just going to a local place means nothing for me. | |

If you had bothered to read the whole thread then you would have read the part that he wanted me to go to his place or mine, so if I didn't LOOK like my pics and it wasn't me, he wouldn't have suggested that would he Einstein? By the way, most men that meet me say I look BETTER in person than the pics, so gee I wonder why they would say something like that? So I guess this guy was a true gentleman blowing smoke in my face and talking on his cellphone? and not an a$$hole at all..must just be me. hmmm. That sounds like a really lousy date! Hey, his name wasn't Bubba was it? Cuz when I was in Texas Bubb asked me how many times a day I liked sex!!! Yes, it was a 1st date! LOL
Hope your next date was better! Next time... Bail when you feel like it... When he was leaving to go to his car you should have just said... you know my asthma is acting up and I didn't realize you were a chain smoker... It was nice to meet ya... and LEAVE!!!! | |

I must say that I look back at some of the dates I went on.. that I was uncomfortable and if I had them to do over I would have ended them vs sitting there feeling uncomfortable! I'd rather be alone and lonely and happy then with someone and miserable!!!
