| Myers-Briggs Personality type...if you know it? Posted: 2/3/2007 2:25:55 AM | To msg #247, you can google to get more information, but here is a place to start:
http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/mbti-basics/
I don't have the actual percentages, but over the years I am consistently labeled INTP ... my I,N and P usually score close to 100%, with my T somewhere in the 60-70% range. I think that's why MB seems to nail my personality so well.
I don't have the reference, but I do remember reading years ago that if a woman was unhappy in her marriage, she was most likely married to an INTP! Oh well.

| Myers-Briggs Personality type...if you know it? Posted: 2/3/2007 5:38:32 AM | ENFP here...
Extroverted 37 Intuitive 41 Feeling 17 Perceiving 37
As marked on a scale where 50 was showing a “very clear” preference.
I like what www.personalitypage.com had to say:
"As an ENFP, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you take things in primarily via your intuition. Your secondary mode is internal, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit in with your personal value system.
"ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it."

I took this test the first time when I was in my mid 20s. The company I worked for was experimenting in using it to build teams. We had a two day training-seminar to identify our types and discuss what it meant to ourselves and others in the work place. It really gave me an appreciation for others and the way they approached things, and how I could better work with them. I was an ESFJ.
I've taken it twice more on my own over the years, and although some of the percentages have changed, I''m still an ESFJ.

| Myers-Briggs Personality type...if you know it? Posted: 2/3/2007 9:36:45 AM | OTOH, its just a general indicator of personality types.
Communication skills, match in physical attraction, outcome expectations, in stage of life objectives and core social values, as well as mutual trust, respect, honor, etc - typical traits of friendship, seem to be necessary, too.
Its what you do with the information that counts. Read up on your personality type and the types you most likely are compatible with.. Understand your weaknesses and strengths - weaknesses can be modulated or compensated by an SO, provided there is counter-compensation in the offering of partnership.

INFJ - same as gandhi and mother teresa. when i was really young and i took it, it came up INFJ/INTJ split.
As Myers published 'Introduction to Type' in 1962 and Gandhi (Mahatma anyways) died in 1948, I wonder who administered the test?

| Myers-Briggs Personality type...if you know it? Posted: 2/3/2007 12:06:59 PM | INFP..... It is my understanding that many INFP's appear as extroverts to others, but that is because we can perceive and identify with other people's inner lives.
Very few except those closest to me, believe me to be more of an introvert...
But I adore the company of Extroverts & apparently my best matches are ENFJ & ESFJ

| Myers-Briggs Personality type...if you know it? Posted: 2/3/2007 8:16:24 PM | | I'm INTP. Something like 45 I, 40 N, 10 T, 15 P... I don't remember the exact numbers there but oh well, 50 was the max at least. I've taken the tests over some number of years and always scored that way. | |

| Myers-Briggs Personality type...if you know it? Posted: 2/4/2007 1:13:28 PM | ENTP - The visionary
Some other ENTPs...
John Malkovich Alexander the Great Lily Tomlin Bugs Bunny
I was tested at work and lots of times subsequently. I only squeek in E by 52% so can bounce between E/I pretty good. I don't find it really changes my personality though, I'm a pretty typical female ENTP.
