| Myers-Briggs Personality type...if you know it? Posted: 2/6/2007 2:02:14 PM | A great fount of information... which, at least to me, begs a question. What is the relationship of MBTI to romance? Are there studies that indicate, like those in astrology, to stay away from this type? Or that one is your perfect match? The only application that I’m aware (and I admit that my exposure may be limited) concerns large corporations with an armies of human resource professionals that help teams of people work better together – that by assigning the right “types” of individuals to certain areas/functions, or by balancing a team, increases productivity and job satisfaction. As always, just curious.

Well there are a couple of different 'theories' when it relates to personality and relationships. The only thing they all seem to agree in is that extroverted and introverted types tend to be attracted to each other.
MBTI suggests that any two well balanced personalities can have a relationship. But there are those that it might be a lot easier with. www.personalitypage.com has some information on the types and relationships.
(re: bugs bunny - there seems to be more fictional characters based on my personality than real ones).

| Myers-Briggs Personality type...if you know it? Posted: 8/2/2007 12:33:25 AM | | I most often come up INTP. Depending on mood and the wording of the test, I sometimes get INTJ. The POF personality test reports ENTP. That is so wrong. No way in hell am I an extrovert. | |

Posted: 10/30/2008 11:52:11 PM | i am not sure what you mean by opposite paradox... me i am an ENTP...but i barely made it into the Extrovert catagory... i was close to being an INTJ. i think i am one of those assimilated introverts. i can be shy at times...etc.
maybe you should ask a psychologist or something...etc.

INTJ
I = 100% N = 62% T = 75% J = 22%
Hmm...you sure about that? The "J" I mean. If it's 22%, that is what you are NOT. You'd be INTP (unless you mixed up and the 22% was the P not the J).
This test works on scales, with the higher percentage being what you are (letter wise) not the lower number. Just sayin'......

| Myers-Briggs Personality type...if you know it? Posted: 11/5/2008 7:54:37 PM | Agreed BigDaddy, INTP and a fairly strong P at that.
When it comes to relationship or work issues and personality I tend to not put much stock in that. There are too many variables that go outside personality and you can only use this stuff as more of a personal development and team building tool. To take it further than that is getting a bit too J for me.
I think compatibility is really based on the person. You can get MBTI to apply but how a 55% Intuitive relates to Sensors is very different than someone who scores 90% as an Intuitive. I score around 89% Intuitive and have a very difficult time relating in any kind of meaningful way to a Sensor. I'm only 52% Extroverted and prefer introverts but not because I'm so extroverted but because I'm not. A highly extroverted person would tire me right out. I'm an ENTP and we are the most introverted of the extroverts already. Unlike our ENFPs cousins we need time alone and will get b1tchy if we don't get it.
I know ENFPs that would not date an Introvert because they find them like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.
When it comes to work, there is most definitely a draw to certain areas BUT that doesn't mean a person can't do a job very well in another. For example NTs CAN do less stimulating jobs if they are motivated by say wanting lots of extra time just to pursue their own interests. Don't underestimate the drive of an ST because the job they are pursuing is not in the field they "should" to be in. If that field pays a lot of money to pay for their other interests, that could be the motivation that drives them to be a far greater success than someone who had the personality for the job.
If we keep developing these tools, at some point they are going to have to add to the Human Rights Act that a person can not be discriminated against based on their personality or we have a Gattica like society going on aka J like utopia and P like purgatory
Ok, I might be exaggerating a little bit but it was to prove a point.
