He played stand-off in 2003 & 2004 (and did perfectly well, especially in the 2003 GF & the 2004 WCC)...before some dopey feckers had the wonderful idea of bringing in Iestyn Harris. 
Burgess what a talent... Yep, if only we had some pace in the middle of the field to take advantage of his offloads. At the moment, there's only Platt. The rest of the time, he's offloading to slow & static players, who might as well not be there in support anyway.

hopefully legend Brett Stewart and his team will see us through this season to be the best in Australia for 2008 Stewart was quality all last season - and it was one of the biggest nails in Manly's Grand Final coffin when Crocker smashed him out of the game. However, I think you'll need a few of the others to step it up a few gears if they're going to cmpensate for the loss of Monaghan & Hicks...and still manage to improve. | |

Which disallowed try are you talking about? In my opinion, the Kearney try that was ruled out for a supposedly "forward" pass was the worst decision in your game against Cronulla. | |

Posted: 4/5/2008 11:00:55 AM | As much as this is a departure from the pace of the thread, I like how Canada and the US national teams have been working hard, developping a following, building the sport in North America.
They have moments where they compete but it's an upward struggle to capture enough of a fan base to allow these two teams to make it into serious contenders. | |
