That's not exactly true. He played stand-off in 2003 & 2004 (and did perfectly well, especially in the 2003 GF & the 2004 WCC)...before some dopey feckers had the wonderful idea of bringing in Iestyn Harris.

Burgess what a talent...
Yep, if only we had some pace in the middle of the field to take advantage of his offloads. At the moment, there's only Platt. The rest of the time, he's offloading to slow & static players, who might as well not be there in support anyway.

I hope leeds win on Friday.
I don't.

Stupidly in my eagerness to play, I have signed for a local Rugby League side.

Never played it properly before, only as a messabout in training so have a lot to learn.

I have played Rugby for over 5 years, our team was the best in its location for all 5 years. I play anything in the fowards, mostly tight head prop and flanker. Go All blacks!!!

The WCC result was disappointing... But predictably so. The English side always wins, so it wasn't a major surprise. At least Leeds were brough back down to earth with a bump this weekend. Well done Cas!

Everyone's got a win now and the SL table is starting to take shape - sort of... Anyone else surprised by how well Quins are doing?

Irish by Birth, Munster by the Grace of God. Seeing Munster win the Heineken Cup in 2006 was the best day of my life!! Got to to go to the game which was an added bonus!!

Im from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, but my dad is from Limerick, so watching Munster was bet into me!!!

Stewart was quality all last season - and it was one of the biggest nails in Manly's Grand Final coffin when Crocker smashed him out of the game. However, I think you'll need a few of the others to step it up a few gears if they're going to cmpensate for the loss of Monaghan & Hicks...and still manage to improve.

Yes in my oppinion...Crocker was a thug to knock Brett Stewart out cold like that..and even tho we lost the first game this season..cos the video referee did not allow the try that was suppose to be..it just takes good ol Manly a game or two to warm up . We'll be back..just wait and see

I disagree... I thought Crocker's hit on Stewart was perfectly fair. Stewart was just unlucky.

Which disallowed try are you talking about? In my opinion, the Kearney try that was ruled out for a supposedly "forward" pass was the worst decision in your game against Cronulla.

hi again rugbyfan27...yes I knew it would take Manly just two games to warm up. There last game against the warriors will give them the confidence they need to get back up the ladder. With a win of 52 to 6, thats fantastic play, and a hat trick for Brett Stewart and Michael Robertson...what legends.

As much as this is a departure from the pace of the thread, I like how Canada and the US national teams have been working hard, developping a following, building the sport in North America.

They have moments where they compete but it's an upward struggle to capture enough of a fan base to allow these two teams to make it into serious contenders.

We've got James Pritchard (Canada) playing for us at Bedford. Does really well for us every game, great little player.

I play but I don't really watch or follow much internationally just because I don't have access to all the games. If a game's on, I'm there though. Also, watching rugby makes me want to play and gets me too riled up.
