Do I have recourse?

I say watch American Beauty, and see how Kevin Spacey exit's his job. There might be a lesson there. Maybe there's some sort of harassment thing you could do with even being asked that question.

OP...about your most recent post...

I know that you want what YOU think you deserve...
But I'm sure at this point in your life you've found out that this isn't always possible.

You're working for a shortsighted company that's skating on edges of sexual-based harassment as a policy.
You MAY be successful w/ a lawsuit.
You may not.
In any case...you probably won't gain much financially...and you'll never work for company again.

If you have a marketable skill...that will allow you to find employment easily...you might consider getting out in the job market ASAP.
If you do not...you might strongly consider getting job training of some type as soon as possible.
Either of those options is going to require energy and effort that you may find in short supply if you engage in a lengthy legal entanglement.

Just some more thoughts.

I acknowledge that.

However, I think you misunderstand my goal.

I want to leave on my own terms, without suffering financially. I think it can be done. I can take anything they dish out.

I am already in the process of job searching, I'm still performing my job duties and in a surprise twist....suddenly people are being real nice at work....maybe not so much of a surprise, even though this was supposed to be kept quiet.

I will wait to see if the pay cut has taken effect on my next check. If it hasn't, then I'll just keep working and looking, which will achieve my goal. I'm no crusader, if I can leave without suffering financially, then I don't care about being wronged....I'll have made my point and moved on.

The difference is Spacey scammed and lied about being harassed, I'm not going to lie or cheat....if I do, then I've lost my dignity, even if I did win. I'd rather walk away empty handed knowing I played it straight.....no pun intended.

Or better yet, "Fight Club".
