The Wide Open Bike Show is at Family Arena on Fri and Sat...Wide Open is a motorcycle magazine...and tickets are $14 at the door, online, or at Hooters. Friday it is 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sat it is 10 to 5.

But I am thinking about seeing if we can all get there earlier like 7:30, I know the band doesn't start playing till later, but it gives us time to sit around chit chatting and gossip gets to fly before the band starts. If anyone wants to meet up for dinner close to there before hand let me know. | |

but yea, best to chow a bit before  ~ and no I don't think I can start drinking at 8 a.m. but hey if you chew a little gum while you're drinking, perhaps your coworkers won't know that you had a little pre-night  ! Just make sure you don't smell like those guys we met in the elevator on Sunday, wow, you could smell alcohol on their breath a mile away I bet | |

Tuesday I got off of work @5:30 had to be at a meeting @6 so I never even got on line ..I had a good time down at Mardi Gras If wante to ya would jave called I could have told you where Broadway and 7th was ( Like 2 blocks from where the truck was parked LOL) We had fun at the house party Even had one of those KING cakes with the baby inside I didnt feel like Dorsett Inn so I told the party to come to me and we just drank and shot pool at my house If you guys are looking for a place to eat friday before the bottleneck you could always come to Holy Spirit Fish Fry its in Maryland Hghts just minutes from Ameristar If you do tell the people serving the food to get me Ill be in back frying up fish ( they also have cheese pizza, speggetti,baked fish, shrimp and all kinda of sides ) I think they stop serving around 7 although sometimes they run out of certain things by then I do believe they have beer and wine Either way have fun and be safe

Posted: 2/7/2008 3:42:36 PM | Hey Porch...guess it is a matter of opinion...but I loved the former shows! Guess it depends on what you are into and whatnot...but less than $20 for 12 hours sounds like a steal to me! (Of course I wont be there for 12 hours, but still!)
If those of us who are going feel up to more, we may pop in at Bottleneck to say hey...but I personally think that place was the rip off! LOL Last time...a Cosmo, a 7&7, and a water ran me $12!

Sometimes bartenders in same establishment charge different amounts, depending if a guy or a gal goes up to order the drinks..weird huh? | |

Posted: 2/7/2008 9:01:45 PM | I wish that my tab was only $12 that night, but mine was closer to the 3 digits. Them damn beers started going down way to easily. Of course, that was after I paid for 2 vodka and sprites that was the same price as 4 beers.
As far as drinks go when you are at the bar, keep in mind for those that have never hung out around bartenders, that if you just want a cheap drink, then you will get the bottom row of liquer, the farther up the bartender has to reach, the higher price your drink will be............guess that is why I am still waiting for them to put ladders in the bars so I can get my shot of Patron Platinum (which not too many bars will carry, and at $200 a bottle, I can definatly see why). | |
