oh yea don't forget all the equipment to get hooked up to Wildblue, I think they're going rate/discounted for me 3 months ago was $350, no thanks! I'll take dial up for down at mom's any time, besides I'm hardly there, why spend more than I don't have when I may need it another time.

Fri, Feb 29, House of Rock, Rod Stewart Tribute, $5
Posted: 2/28/2008 3:21:16 PM
I talked to someone at the door last night at HOR and they say $5 covercharge, or shouldn't be slightly over that. There is a band opening up for Rod Stewart Tribute at 9pm with plenty of dance tunes come on out and shake it if you didn't have enough shakin' goin' on at the Mardi Gras Party last Saturday night! Tribute band to start around 10:30. Reservations are recommended: 314-842-2550

Well I have never heard of Wildblue...but where I am at...there is NADA available...you have to DirecTV or Dish Network...and I agree with Denise...it is just NOT worth it to pay that kind of moolah for an internet connection, no matter how high speed.

You all have a rockin' time at BBB....Hot Legs, Maggie, and all those goofy classics! What a fun walk down memory lane that will be! :O)

Hey kat, wildblue has three different packages, 49, 69 and 99 the more u pay the faster the download, the 99 dolla one, is like dsl its for business, i have the 49 dollar a month plan and its good enough for me, its 10 times faster than dialup

If you are going to do dish, check out sprint or verizon's nifty little broadband access cards. Both companies cards rock. I was at a police station today, working on a pair of Toughbooks with the verizon cards in them, and they were blazing fast for downloads (I was about 35 miles south east of STL out in the boonies). The Sprint ones are just as fast as well. I'd recommend getting one of those over a dish at home. That way you can truely take your laptop anywhere (well nearly anywhere) and get access.

I, personally don't have either of them, just used both services quite a bit via work. =)

Another huge expense that I find not worthwhile...you have to sign a TWO YEAR contract with ATT for their wireless card....and the upfront cost and monthly cost are just...blech!

KAT, I have to agree.. huge expense that I will NOT do... I have dish and I never watch TV so I was thinking about getting rid of that... oh well.. such is life.

I am spoiled though, at work of course it flies...

**Envy!**

Lucky, if it weren't a darn $30 jump to the next plan I'd get it. But I cannot justify $30 more a month to double decent bw already. I already have their phone service, tho no tv. Don't need it.

Internet all depends on how you use it too. I do tech work remotely from home, & it works out well. Not to mention webhosting & I'm addicted to high speed internet.

Must be nice to have perks like that........I work for a mortgage company, do you think that they will give me a free mortgage........NOPE, Don't think so! But they did just go and name the home of the New York Mets today Citi Field...........guess that is where the rest of my bonus went this year.

Just wait till you call a help desk (overseas) and explain a situation to them, which takes 45 minutes because they don't speak the same language as you, for them to send the job request to someone that sits 5 rows from you, that you could have explained in 3 minutes. Talk about departments that suck!
