It really is very simple.
When you open your email page there is a link called:
Local Get Togethers, Events and Discussions etc! Click on that.
Then you scroll down to: Missouri Singles Events and click on that.
On the Next page you will see "Create Party Thread" - click on that and enter the info. Make sure to put a title, place and date or it will not get green linked. The mods will delete it if you don't do this.
Now you are all set - so what are you waiting for?

Amber...I hosted an event in May, it wasn't HUGE but it didn't matter, it was just right and we packed the place in Ballwin; I had a blast and everyone else did too, of course it helped we had a band, I do have a few feelers out for the Christmas Party and the Idea for the Children's Homes once again, for bands, I've contacted 4 so far, I have to wait and see..other than that, it's not hard, just contact the venues you attend for fun on the weekends and see if they'd be willing to have us. And then go from there.

There's a singles dance in St. Charles Friday night, at the Heart Of St. Charles Banquet Center. Bob Kuban sponsors it and him and his band plays at it. He has a DJ that plays when they take breaks. Admission is $10 a person & there's no drink specials, but it's usually a good time. Mostly classic rock from the 50's & 60's with some 70's as well. He has a website you can check out for info. It's www.bobkuban.co click on singles night out and it will bring up the info.

So other than the Fish Float...what are everyone's plans for the holiday weekend??

Amanda and I are seeing Martina McBride on Friday, at Riverport (or whatever company is hosting it now!) courtesy of Harrah's! If you have a Harrah's card, and are interested in going...you may wanna call them with offer code STLMCBRIDE and see if YOU can get two comp tickets, too! ;)

Saturday is Six Flags...OMGawd...have not done that in YEARS! LOL

We're going to Mark Twain Lake with a buddy of Jerry's; his Mom owns some property out there and a nice size pontoon boat; other than that, it's another lazy weekend by the lake..we were at Lake of Ozarks with Laura (er a Yolanda) this past weekend, had a blast! Especially when we toppled off the seadoo into the Lake, not 100 ft from the resort, couldn't have planned that better! You all will have to have a visual on that as no pics were taken, we were all on the seadoos!

What a blast, I'm so ready for another fun weekend in the fresh country air and sunshine!

Kat ~ 6 Flags, have fun but mainly enjoy the Martina McBride concert; I cannot go due to Lake plans, but would love to see her; have fun at the SIX as well, the Evil Knieval is my new favorite coaster!

Trixie Delight - thoughts and prayers going out to a great band
Posted: 8/27/2008 8:00:42 PM
While everyone is out and about this weekend with their Labor Day activities, keep one of our favorite bands, that some of us gals enjoy going out to listen to from time to time, in your thoughts and prayers. Trixie Delight has lost a great guitar player this morning. Steve Burton, 39 years old, passed away this morning due to complications from being sick. Steve was a very talented guitarist and will forever be playing his music from above. This band is truly an awesome band and if you ever get the chance to meet them, they have great personalities on the stage as well as off the stage. They posted a bulletin on Myspace as well as their website in regards to this and have cancelled their shows this coming up weekend. I know my last memory of Steve is watching him play on my birthday at Wentzville Park for the 4th of July.

Rock on Steve , you will be missed!

This just goes to show that tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone. Live each day as it's your last and don't take anything for granted.

Teresa - sorry to hear about the loss of the band member. I know that this is a good band and my sympathies go out to them. As you say: This just goes to show that tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone. Live each day as it's your last and don't take anything for granted.
I live by that thought since my car accident in April 2005. Not only was I lucky to live but also lucky that they didn't amputate me at the hip but instead pieced it back together. Carpus Diem!!!!!

Everyone have a good Labor's Day Weekend!!!

An update on what Theresa posted about Steve of Trixie Delight.....

Collections are being done for his funeral expenses as well as a trust fund for his son. Steve had no life insurance, or even a car for that matter...and with his life ending so abruptly, the St. Louis Trixie fans are really needed!

http://www.trixiedelight.com/DonationsforSteve.html

Donations can be made online, as well as Kelly and the band will be circulating the bars they play, passing the hat, this weekend.

I am working on a donation spot at the Strat, as well...though it has been a bit since they played there. Two of the spots they frequent often and will most definitely be at are That One Place (Fenton) and House of Rock (Ronnie's Plaza in St. Louis Co)

Thanks!

I know, Laura...VERY sad. Very frightening, too...as he thought he only had a flu. :o(

Trixie and Just Mr. have been my two fave bands for YEARS....have some hilarious memories of Trixie at That One Place...OMGosh....when they had two female leads...and I have been hooked ever since! Once saw Kelly at the boats when she was just out having a night out,...and she is a RIOT!

Hey Kat so true ya just never know when it's your time. I'm glad you posted about the donations for the funeral too. It such a shame that people have to pay such astronomical fees just to be buried/cremated whatever.
Never saw Trixie when there where 2 leads but I'm sure it was awesome. I do remember the last time Denise and I went to BBB just standing there and watching Steve play. Strange thing is I was only watching HIM... premonition? I don't usually do that either. I hope he is at peace in heaven.

hey Susie, I might be down that way tonight. I have a wedding reception to go to this evening and depending on what time I get out of there I might head down to St Charles to get out and about for a change. I'll send you text if I decide to come down to see if you all are still there.

sorry I missed the good time there. I used to go there before I turned 21 (which was many ages ago) and have gone there just a handful of times since, but we always had a good time. I ended up going to the local bars out here in Troy last night after the reception, had a great time and am thinking that it's high time I get back out again and stop playing hermit because of my surgeries......unfortunatly though the smokey bars is doing a killer number on my throat.

I see we have survived (almost) another long weekend; heading to wineries today.
I think I'll be glad when Tues rolls around so I can rest LOL

Had fun at Mark Twain Lake; went out on a friend's boat for a trip around the lake, had lunch and almost ended up as an overnight adventure..you know, no cell service, no oil in the boat, all oil containers empty, good thing the water patrol was out and about, they came right away, offered us a qt of oil and we made it back to the main boat ramp.
Hung out at the house yesterday, the guys cut his mom's grass about 6 acres worth! I laid around most of day, wasn't up to par, feel much better today!

Well Dave and I went motorcycling ride with Clint up and down 94 thru the Winery area on Sun. Nope, didn't stop to drink just enjoy the beautiful day. Today Dave and I went by ourselves over to the river road and stopped at the Dock Restaurant in Grafton. Good thing I was wearing my swimsuit - decided to go into the river to cool off. It was so nice that I didn't want to get out to get back on the bike. Hope all had a good weekend.
