Hey, its a lot better idea to put your sense of humor in your profile than just saying that your funny or your friends think your funny. Let the target audience decide!
We know this is a dating site, but most everybody on here reading, is part of the "Lonely Hearts Club Band" and will not be going on a date tonight. And for purely entertainment value alone this is one of the best venues in town. It has everything you want and more. So whats wrong with one lonely soul trying to bring a smile to another lonely soul even if just for one night.
The only drawback to your approach might be if you were not that funny in person. But this virtual world is created with these tiny little symbols that keep tapping across this sentance. And you can do what ever you want with them. | |

This has got to be one of the best profiles I have ever read, It is absolutely fantastic, you had me in stitches for ages and certainly made me smile  Don't change a thing ! it's wonderful and was a real pleasure to read, it made such a refreshing change from a lot of the usual 'prefer not to say',wanna know anything ,just ask' type of profiles.
Good luck on pof ! and I hope you find a wonderful woman who appreciates your fantastic sense of humour.

I thought that your profile was fabulous, and if you were anywhere closer to me I would totally ask you out.
What you could learned from responses to your question here is that:
1. Although pretty much everyone on PoF claim that they have a great sense of humor, that might not be the case. Surely they can appreciate a good "knock, knock" joke, but anything more complex than that flies right over their heads. Zoooooooom.
2. Lots of folks around here with ADD, who cannot be bothered to read more than one paragraph. Furthermore they seem proud of that.
I'd say, don't change a thing - profile is great (you already know that anyway). It will certainly scare off those who need to be scared off in the first place.
But, I would love to read new versions... just to see how many good ones you can come up with. Being a seer, I predict another delay sometime in your future and am awaiting a new profile.

Yes, this was a Thread designed to draw attention to his profile. If a tree falls in a forest does anyone hear? But ask yourself... does the tree want to be heard? Actually, some people might not grok what I mean by this, so more plainly: it's a work of fiction to be read and enjoyed, so this was a clever ploy to get it read.
One poster asked why anyone would bother to write a fake profile that wasn't believable. Well, if it's fictional and everyone knows it's fiction, no harm done. If someone lies on their profile and is trying to sound believable, then it's deceitful. | |

Saying you run because you've nothing elose to do makes you seem a little sad.
I say move somewhere else, like New York, start a new life, start a night course and start a new job, groom yourself up well and take a photo SMILING!!!!!!!!!

Because they are just not on the same level as you at all, and never will be, their brain function is different, they have to make sense of what they see and read, have a rational meaning to it, if it does not make sense to them, meaning they dont get it, then YOU are mad, simple, so to protect their normal sane heads (their view of course) they have to yell 'away mad one'. But i dont really believe that you give a rats azz about it .. Other than laughing at them because it must be a sad life to be so thought limited... Im trying to think if i ever had the urge to text a really boring, ooh sorry i mean thought limited person, and shout 'YOUR SANE YOU, YOUR SANE'...

After a number of request from POFers. I am going to start writing profiles for other people. I enjoyed writing it and have lots ides. It will be done with the same style-satire,symbolism,irony,dark humor,innuendo, parody ,social references.
In the end, its just meant to be humorous reading( I hope). And therefore get you some interest in your profile. | |

It is apparent what your style is, and I commend and appreciate it. But writing a profile for someone else... that is just deceitful. That is not their words, or their personality. Offer your advice, be an inspiration, but please do not write out their profile for them. Sheesh, were you the kid doing other people's homework for them in grade school?
If your offer to write other peoples profiles for them was also just a joke, I missed it... but it certainly didn't seem like it. | |

I was offended by your apparent trivialization of all the brave soldiers who went AWOL in Vietnam, especially in light of all those brave soldiers who are AWOL in Iraq presently. Other than that, I found it refreshing, if long and tedious. Truly you could benefit from the words of the late, great Elvis Aaron Presley, "A little less talk and a lot more action."

That's what makes profiles suck -- when they have nothing of you in them. It doesn't matter if someone who wouldn't like you reads your profile, and decides they don't want to know. In fact, that's good. They go on their way, you go on yours. But what's bad is if someone who would get you, finds out nothing, and just moves along.
The only criticsm I have is, I found it hard to read it all because of the poor spelling/grammar. I don't know whether English is your native language, and it can be very hard. It looks like you did use spellcheck, but a lot of the time you selected the wrong word. "Do" instead of "due", for instance. Since it's long, I find this very distracting, and kind of makes me imagine an accent while I read it. | |
