I'm not asking what to do lol, I'm just curious about the laws, if any. It's only a curiosity - not a crusade folks lol.

But it'd make a good POF name. ShoppingCartCrusader -- Able to leap small children in a single bound!

You take a picture of you with an S shirt on and a shopping cart, maybe some super-stylin' googles. The guys would be diggin your rack! (You know that one on the bottom where you put the dogfood)

I'll bet its not taken and with that much sex appeal you should snap it up ASAP!

Wildheart.. It does work :D
I had a broken trolley once that kept locking all the way through the store. People kept looking at me oddly forcefully pushing a trolley containing hardly anything like i was really really weak, or had bought super heavy bread or something. I suppose i could have got another trolley but i thought it was fun and was like being at the gym for free. Would i do it again? Yes, yes i would. :D
Maybe they should have a warning about that?
WARNING "These shopping carts may force you to look like a total spack infront of the other customers!" Just incase someone sue's for emotional damage?

Okay, so the sign says:

Please return your shopping cart to the dock (or whatever it's called). We are not responsible for any mishaps/accidents.

So, does this mean they ARE responsible if the dock is full?! I have no problem returning my cart to the dock, however when the dock is full - the cart is still outside and can potentially damage a car. I was parked right beside the dock today and noted that.

Anyone know the laws concerning that?

Not a lawyer...just a former small business owner.
Signs like that are put up to discourage minor complaints and some nuisance lawsuits.
If your vehicle is damaged and you complain loudly and long enough (or send a lawyer letter),most business will pay you just to go away.
The lack of a sign (signs) leaves businesses open to potential lawsuits, so they post them.
