It is the power that money provides them with.

Say those pretty diamond rings, the very symbol of marriage and blood sweat and tears in the mines. The gasoline we all use to get to work on and move around the globe, also comes with alot of blood, sweat and tears.
Its time to repent, put on sackcloth and ashes. Eat wild honey and locusts. Its the only way. Everyman should live under his own tree.
Did you ever see a load of crows with wings outstretched sunning it up on a beach, drinking martini's and passing the cubans around while the sparrows went out collecting seeds and worms for the crows?

Posted: 1/10/2008 4:48:21 AM | Their is nothing wrong with money we need to eat and get by, its the love of it the obsession, with it just for yourself when you disregard others and dont, take care of them that is when it becomes sick. Most of us have sheets on our beds and meals to eat and a roof over our head and still want more and more stuff.
People often think having loads of stuff, will give them social approval acceptance by others its just a false sense of happiness its not happiness its an addiction and not satisfied by having heaps of stuff.
Their are millions in the world who have no food, shoes. Funny enough many of the poor people are the most generous people their are and will share with others and help their neighbours out.
Their are good rich people as well Anita ruddick who owned the body shop has left most of the money to the poor, Bill Gates will and others. Its not the money which is evil its a persons attitude towards it and whether a person allows it to make them fearful and greedy or use it wisely and help others out.
We live in a time when their is alot of greed about now I think if our ancestors could see how we live now they would be shocked as many were alot more content. | |

However..... if we during our working lifetimes don't apply ourselves to acquire an adequate mass of it while we are employable, surely the devil will take us to a snowbank when we are down to living on social security. Here in Canada, after years of contributions my Canada Pension Plan benefits would be $618 per month if I turned 65 in 2006. My Old Age Security would be $484. Added together that is a grand total income of $1102/month. My ex-wife spent more than that on just groceries for our family of four twenty years ago.
I'm not trying to say I don't believe in Providence but we must listen to our God given intuition as we pass through life even though it may seem contrary to biblical principles. How many readers here don't owe their present welfare to thrift and careful investment or to a former partner who was thus conscious?
With our money made it's easy to philosophically condemn the evils of money provided our cheques from whatever legal sources exceed our expenses. | |

(1 Tim 6:10) is not strictly the true interpritation of that verse, there is nothing wrong with having riches, its your attitude towards having money and riches thats the problem, the verse gos on to say, For the LOVE of money some people eager for riches have wandered from the faith and have pierced themselves over with many griefs.
Solomon says at Ecc 7 : 12, wisdom is a defence (protection) and money is a defence,
but the excellency of knowledgeis that wisdom gives life to them that have it. | |

Posted: 1/10/2008 9:47:45 AM | It's the idea that money is more important than people that's the problem... Money is a good invention, but it furthers greed... Greed and the feeling that you are better than others causes alot of suffering.
Money? How can too much be deemed a "bad" thing?
When it blinds you to others being hungry... Nobody should have to starve so that rich people can create unused waste.
Somewhere between capitalism and communism is a happy medium where you can work hard for more money but nobody starves and nobody dictates. | |

Posted: 1/10/2008 10:51:05 AM | I think alot of the problems with money can be solved with good management and not wasting it on heavy smoking and drinking and gambling. You can get holidays on the internet for 100 pounds to spain meals and even the taxi picks you up. My friend has just been on a cruise to spain for 65 pounds. You can enjoy life and don,t have to spend alot with good management. You can look good and be stylish and you do not have to wear expensive designer clothes and diamonds. You can have a massive shopping bill or cook good home cookng which does not have all the sugar and preservatives and that junk crap has. You can eat out but do not have to go to the most expensive restaurants all the time.
You can manage your money or let you money manage you, at the end of the day. | |
