one friend who insisted that it was better to wait for at least a couple of months..that way the guy would stay around.
If your friend feels she has nothing else to offer a guy other than sex that is worth sticking around for, then she has a whole different set of issues to deal with.
The right time is when both people agree it is the natural time to do so.
For me I take my time because I like to get to know the mental, emotional and spiritual sides of people. That enhances the physical side when the time is right. I have learned that through many years of physical only relationships. Sex is easy, love and connection is not so easy. When you are patient enough to find the latter then it is very rewarding when you do. Hence I really have no set time table.
On the flip side, I do have issue with people who hold back to have the other person prove something to them or to keep them chasing or any of that crap. That is manipulative and shows me the quality of person they are. They can keep on walking by when that crap goes on.

Yes she does have some issues.
I think some women have a whole different set of ideas about sex to men.
Personally, I think each case is different and depends on the two adults and what they are looking for from the relationship.

I also feel two people who are considering getting intimate should be able to discuss the topic openly...after all if sex is something you are considering sharing with someone you should be able to talk about it with them otherwise the time is not right between the two and you should not even be thinking about it. | |

Is this a long distance relationship where you've spent a long time getting to know each other? Is it a prospective long term thing or a fling?
IMHO, if you've just casually dating, sex before you know something is really there doesn't improve the relationship, it complicates it.
I'd rather wait however long it takes to see if we're compatible on all levels (including talk about sexual preferences, desires, likes and dislikes) before throwing that in the mix. | |

Posted: 1/7/2008 11:27:13 PM | I've been in relationships where we had sex on the first date, and the relationship lasted a long time. One lasted for 4 years, another lasted for 5.
And then I have been in relationships where there was NEVER any sex between us.
It all depends on how things progress between the two people. Sometimes the fire is just so hot that it explodes, almost immediately.
Ask yourself this...........Will the guy respect you in the morning? And will you respect yourself afterwords? If the answer to both questions is "YES", and if you both really want to be with each other, sexually, then what is the problem?
