What's Your Fried Egg?

There is a difference between having a preference and being an a55hole about it.

You sir, are being an a55hole about it.

So what are my preferences? Did you check first before opening your mouth? Clearly you didn't.

Call me naiive, but I think that it's the way a preference is expressed, rather than the actual preference that lands people in trouble. Human nature dictates that people are going to be defensive if they feel that they themselves, or people they care about are being attacked.

The only thing I believe I express a preference for in my page is that 'Republicans need not apply'. I don't say anything about how much a woman should weigh, their height or anything. I have dated women TWICE my size, taller and shorter women etc etc etc. I don't see why the hostility to the posts I left or the attacks on me based ON those posts comes from.

Where does being an 'a55hole' come out of them?...unless someone was primed before they comprehended which I think may be the case.

I think you all need to step away from your computers and go get some fresh air!

I think the hostility on the womens side is because so many of us "bigger girls" frequently get shot down by guys. I'm sorry to say it's the simple truth.

It doesn't matter how wonderful my personality is... there are going to be men of all heights who are going to make stupid comments about putting down the fork and getting some exercise. That's just mean and uncalled for.

My profile doesn't say specifically what I'm looking for, if someone emails me I'm definately not interested in for some reason, I'm going to let him down nicely.

We all have preferences... the debate going on here isn't going to change that.

^^^actually, I wasn't referring specifically to you, but more to the spirit of how preferences are expressed in general, whether it be short men, heavy women, older women, men of color, women with large breasts, these have all been the subject of threads in the Califorum.
What do you mean Republicans need not apply? Them are fightin' words mister!

I know what you mean. One day I was out walking for exercise and a girl driving by screamed out the window "YOU'RE FAT!" I'd like to say I wasn't hurt by that, but I was. Being fat in gay society might even be worse than it is for fat women, but even if it's not, I can relate.

What do you mean Republicans need not apply? Them are fightin' words mister!

Oh God, you voted for Bush? Never mind, off topic post, off topic post, let's just move along.

Hey GrnEyed, I've read many of your posts and always enjoy them. I'm sorry that you have noticed the '"bigger girls" frequently get shot down by guys.' but I'm absolutely NOT one of them!!!! The putting down the fork comment I made was directed at men and women, not just to women, I've tried to clear that up with later posts. And indeed, not everyone can or maybe wants to be thin, thats fine. I have a wee bit of family history of obesity and HAVE to make an effort not to blow up in size and endanger my health. My best friend always complains about how women overlook him because he is 'chunky' but he still goes home and eats pizza and bathes in beer, whattchagonnado?

And Barbe1963...'What do you mean Republicans need not apply? Them are fightin' words mister!' :-) Indeed they may be, I guess thats a bit of baggage left over from an Ex that could see no wrong in anything they did..ahh now this post could really go on from here!!! :-)

That's exactly what I mean, what kind of mean and nasty person would do that?

The answer is not as grey as you try to make it, some people are lazy and don't take care of their health/appearance etc.
If we want to discuss not taking care of themselves... I see as many thin people wandering around with the very same problem. Grooming may just be more important in dating than weight.
So these guys represents me? I have no problem with my height, but I'm getting painting whole brush thing.
I said a lot of men, I did not say all men. It's enough of a statistical anomaly to have a complex named after it.
I'm not the size of a couch either...why? BECAUSE I MAKE THE EFFORT! I could sit on my ass each night and pound bars of chocolate like they are made of air but I CHOOSE not to.
I know people will think I am nuts, but chocolate is not that exciting.
The women rule the forums, at least the California one. I do find a huge amount of hypocrisy here in what a man is "allowed" to express and what a woman can. Not from every woman, of course, but a good amount.
This should not shock anyone. Women are better communicators than men are. The brain circuitry and hormones that make women so much more attuned the emotions of others are very real. We have better hearing and better verbal skills, this would translate over to an arena of discussion that is centered on emotional responses.

As a man, you are allowed to express whatever you want, and often many do. The fact remains that men are more visually wired than women are, makes them more prone to be superficial about how someone looks. The centers for sexual activities in a males brain are almost twice the size and with more connections than women. In a lot of ways, it is a biological imperative.

There is some good news for women, did you know that worldwide, there are about 105-107 boys born for every 100 girls born? Better work on those social skills guys, your odds are not improving.

More boys die in early years and more young men die than young women through risk taking behaviour. In later years men die more often than women at work as men usually have riskier jobs. But no matter, even if the planet gets down to one single man and several million women when asked every woman will always 'have a boyfriend'. :-)

149.1 million ...The number of females in the United States as of July 1, 2004. That exceeds the number of males (144.5 million). Males outnumbered females in every five-year-age group through the 35- to 39-age group. Starting with the 40- to 44-age group, women outnumbered men. At 85 and over, there were more than twice as many women as men.

We live longer. So perhaps you should be looking for older women if you want to improve your chances.

The death rate is a 7% higher variance for males than for females.

Of my last two long term girlfriends one was ten years older and the other two so I have been paddling in different pools ;-) I ,like everyone, may think they know what they 'want' but when the rubber actually hits the road what you actually face and fall for may be more than you hoped for and quite probably wrapped in a totally different package than your expectations predicted.

Great! I guess it's a good thing I like younger men. And their height has nothing to do with it!

I forgot to mention this came from the US Census.
