Apparently there are some males of the human species who still carry some dominating post simian genes and like their ancestors when exposed to the scent of females in heat or in anticipation of meeting one, will excrete bodily fluids and seek to wallow in their favorite mud hole. Natures intent of course how else could it be, is that the stronger the scent the more intimidated the potential adversaries will be before the rival beasts lock horns in battle to win the favor the female....who probably is holding her breath for the ten seconds the buck needs for his deed before keeling over, all four pointed to the heavens.
There are some who suggest the subsequent females morning sickness is related to to this.

WE ALL smell....some more "distinct" than others....
Perhaps it's in the foods we eat....
If the old saying....."you are what you eat" is true, then logically....you smell like what you eat is (sometimes) "smellably" obvious... | |

Of course men shower. All the men I associate with play hard, usually work at dirty, outdoor work and they all keep exceptionally clean. Clean hair, clean teeth, clean skin, and they smell good. Like soap and water. And not doused in a bunch of perfumy crap either.
Occasionally you might run into some weirdo whose personal hygiene sucks, or someone that may have a temporary health problem giving them issues, but blanket generalizations such as, "do men shower". C'mon. Grab a brain.
Hardly an appropriate forum topic.

The opposite to men who don't shower is women who apply too much fragrance. There was a blurb on the radio saying that researchers have found that these women may be depressed and that depression and a poor sense of smell seem to go together. So my guess is that the researchers would probably find that men and women who don't shower regularly may have a poor sense of smell.
A related question - Don't you just hate when someone tries to cover a bad smell with perfume or cologne? | |

If we look at their greetings of one another, with the sniffing and nosing of private parts, they do have an edge. They don't have to wait for the other to remove clothing before running, they know "up front?" what they are about to "get into?"
Seems like it may be a much more civilized way to handle personal hygiene issues without the escape issues that sometimes follow?   | |

Posted: 1/10/2008 9:40:13 PM | sadly the problem is not that people ( men AND women) don't shower or bathe, it is that they do not use anti-perspirant ( NOT deodorant) immediately after.
THEN, they choose to douse themselves in too much heavily scented products that knock people over initially upon first smell and again once the odour pressed through the top coat of colognes/perfumes.
Next thing is many people wear the SAME coat day in and day out and how often does that get washed?????????? No brainer there as to where the smell build up may come from. | |

One day me and him were discussing bad habits, and he said "I don't have any bad habbits"...I was quite shocked and I told him basically he had bad Hygiene habits..I'll never forget his mortified look of shock. I feel bad for being so blunt, but the guy stunk! So that night when I came home from studying he was all showered and washin his clothes lol He kept it up for awhile but then revereted back. I have kept in touch with him over the years, and he has cleaned his act up quite a bit, He's a great guy! He just had to learn to shower lol I do feel bad for being so blunt though..Hopefully he doesn't read this lol | |

Posted: 5/12/2008 11:46:44 PM | Most men stay clean to keep up a good appearance towards others. As for the younger generation, a lot of boys who use the washroom don't wash their hands afterwards, right into their dating years, coming out and holding hands with their girlfriends.
But compare that to women giving a guy a blow job and then kissing him right afterwards. Many women think there's nothing wrong with that. If that's the case, then you ladies won't mind if the guys lick your privates, getting stuff all over their face and then kisses you, right? How is that any different? | |

I worked with a fab guy once...and he smelled so freaking bad...he showered every day... and went swimming before work even....rode his bike in from Coquitlam to downtown Vancouver....and ...well... a bit sweaty...the problem was more his clothes..which he rarely washed! | |
