I think my only issue with God is my need to control my destiny rather than trusting in him enough to just LET GO and allow him to answer...to guide me blindly. That is what faith is all about. I have thought for many months that he was not answering my prayers or listening to me, but I think he was all along, but I kept interfering: I failed to listen when he answered. | |

When something is in the palm of the hand it is ever visible and we are always conscious of it.. that is the way it is with God. WE are in His palm, in his grip and He has said He will never leave forsake or the amplified says release His grip on us.... That is exciting because He knows exactly what is going on throughout my day and cares what happens to me... Yes sometimes we must go through things we may not like but it is all to develop us in to whom He has created us to be.... The interesting thing is that He is in control and He is in charge.. It also says that He would never cause us to go through anything we can't handle... we may think we can't handle it but if we are in it then its because He knows about it.. also He is bringing us through it... WE must trust Him He knows what He is doing and knows what we need!!! He is in charge doesn't need our help... Blessings dj | |

You make it sound like we are destined to go to hell.
God has given us a choice to obey or not.
I have said the same thing that you have just said.
We have to choose which path we will follow.
I accepted Christ in my heart 8 years ago .
It was right after my wife divorced me.
Since then God has taken away my smoking habit
of 3 packs a day, for 26 years, my drinking consists of on average
1 1/2 beers & that is dwindling. My life is so at ease now since I FINALLY
accepted Christ into my heart & asked God to take over my life
and lead me the way I should go.
I haven't met Mrs. Right yet but I don't care.
When God see'e it is the right time she will enter my life
till then I can wait.
I still have trials but now God is with me on my journey.
I have NEVER enjoyed life more than I do now.
God NEVER said to not have fun & enjoy life.
The things God says not to do are for our own good.
Fornication(STD's,pregnancy's,hurt emotions,etc),
Drinking in moderation( DUI's,hangovers,car accidents,etc).
Every thing God says not to do is to protect us not hinder us.
The Bible tell's it all if people would take time to read it.
It won't make sense for the first few minutes or so .....just keep reading.
God will open your eyes to it ....but not until He knows you
really want to understand it's meaning.
It took me 48 years to realize this.
Give it a try......Your eternal destination depends on it.

Preaching is a fine example of this. We all get need to get that visual going in our head ...
The word preaching is used most commonly in the context of being told to do something you don't want to do or you are being told that what you did was bad.
Who placed that particular emphasis on that word btw? That's a good one to ponder later or possibly for another thread subject.
The same as every other subject ever discussed since the dawn of time, Religion , or lack thereof will be what you choose to believe. | |

Our Heavenly Father is the same way only more Loving.
If we do wrong now as adults don't we pay by Prison,getting beat-up,divorce,etc.
God is showing us the way to finacial freedom, a healthy,loving relationship,
in other words..... Freedom from the bondage of sin.
Sin is bondage......sex; you never get enough......money; you always want to
make more money...... even people that kill always want to kill more.....
NOTHING on earth will satisfy ones needs....there is always a want for more.
If only I'd earn 10,000 dollars more then I'd be happy.
You can apply this to every aspect of ones life.
God seen this before mankind was created & so he set rules down....not to
hinder our fun but to protect us from our natural greedy lustful appeitites.
Think about it from a guys viewpoint......
When you have sex with someone you just met or have know for a little while afterwards don't you feel unfufilled?
I never did!
Now if she was my wife I felt so satisfied.
I shared a part of me with her.
I made Love to her.... not just had sex with her.
God says ask for Wisdom & Really want it & He will open your eyes to understanding
His Word.
I know because He has showed it to me.
I still Pray & read for about 20 minutes before He reveals what HE wants me to know from the Bible.
One last thing.
Satan KNOWS the Bible inside & out.
But he doesn't LIVE the Bible.
That is the difference between a Christian & a non-christian.
A Christian is NOT perfect like has been said before....but a Christian strives DAILY to become more Christ-like.
Not preach 24/7 but be ready to give an account of your belief when
the need arises. Help the bleeding soul that you encounter.
Jesus had to Preach 24/7 because he only had 3 years to complete His mission.

What would the world be like if nobody was held accountable
for their actions? Murder,Thefts,Rapes,etc .....would be rampant.
Ther would be no punishment for anything!
That is what the ACLU is trying to do.
They say there is a legitimate reason for everybodys actions.
They were deprived of choclate when they were young....that is why they killed the candy store owner.
That sounds absurd but.....thta is what it is coming to.

Yeah spank me ground me But never did my earthly Father Burn me for not listening .
Didnt god say when they where throwing baby's in the fire for a sacrafice that those actions never came up into his heart.. If it never came up into his heart why should I believe this Loving Heavenly Father is going to punish me forever by fire. Damn Adam didn't even get that.. He just went back to Dust.. Do I believe YES. Do I have faith God is going to do what he proposed YES. But correct me if I'm wrong but a scripture says Faith without Works is Dead.. So we can have all the faith in the world but if its not shown by are works(actions) then it doesnt matter.
Yes Father I believe what you say. For example Fornicators and Adulters won't inhert your Kingdom. But I'm going to tell myself as long as I believe and have faith I can do whatever I please.. Come on now think about it. If I keep fornicating or being a drunkard do I have the right to say I'm saved because I have faith.. NO
You have to follow the WORD of God his way not what tickles you ear...
I have faced the facts I'm not pleasing God by my actions. And I have faith that if I continue down the road I'm heading I WON'T BE IN THAT KINDOM.. I'm not judging anyone. I have read the bible from front to back and understand it quit well and nowhere in the bible does it say I can Judge anyone. Its says don't judge because you will be judge yourself... This is the best subject on this forum thanks for putting it up...

Billy Graham admits he learns
something new each time he reads the Bible.
If you did know the Bible that well there wouldn't be any doubt in your heart.
If you LIVED what you read.
I've said before that satan knows the Bible better than any of us ever could
BUT the difference is satan doesn't LIVE the way the Bible says to live.
That is the difference between a Christian & a non-Christian.
I let God change my life everyday to His WILL.

Bill before you judge me you need to read what I wrote again.... I didn't say I know the bible from front to back I said I have read it and know it quite well... NEVER did I say I know the bible from front to back. There is always things in there that you missed. Always something new if you read it again and again.... Keep tickling your ear Bill mine is not being tickled.
To me when god says don't do something and there is the consequences and you do what he says not to do shouldn't you expect the consequences? YES !!
So when god told adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge and if he did he would positively die. So what happend to adam when he did eat of the tree? Did god look the other way NO Adam eventally DIED did he not? So what I'm saying is I (SKIP) believe that if god say fornicators and drunkards won't inherit gods Kingdom I (SKIP) believe that..
I thought this forum was to give your thought didn't know it was going to become a public debate over what I believe.. You Believe what you want and I don't go after you Bill why are you doing that to me.. Now if you would like to sit down privately and discuss the bible USING the bible it would be fun. But i'm not going to do this over the internet.

1. We should always forgive because we do not have the right not to forgive.
Only Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. I didn't. So, if I
say I can't forgive someone then I'm putting myself above God/Jesus and
in a way saying I'm better than Him.
2. We were not put onto this earth to judge others. God will make the final
judgement on all of us. I learned that the hard way. My son had some friends that
liked dressing "gothic"......I always use to say that those type of people were
evil just because of the way they looked and from what I had heard other people
say about them. Then one Sunday when our church was having an outside service
and the band was playing (and our band plays the type of songs you hear on the
radio, like the station 104.9fm) I see 4 kids standing in front, hair all black and
spiked up, black fingernail polish, white face make-up, black eye shadow.......
and they had their arms raised, singing the songs! They had the love of Christ in
their heart and it didn't matter what they looked like!
3. All sins are the same in Gods eye. Wether you stole a piece of bubble gum or murdered someone. A sin is a sin. It is up to us to ask for forgiveness and believe we are forgiven and really believe it. God loves us all no matter how bad we have been. He knows our true heart. He will know ! | |

I don't believe that it says in the Bible that you are going to hell if you don't serve the Lord. It does say however that only those that believe in Jesus Christ shall go to heaven and live in His house that he went to prepare for you.
Just because I'm a Christian, does not mean I don't sin. Christians are just sinners trying to get better. They go to church to fellowship with other Christians, sing, dance, praise the Lord and soak in the Spirit.
Jesus was the only non-sinner ever!
To accept Him is to
1admit you are a sinner
2 believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and rose 3 days later
3 Ask him into your heart.
Even after you do that....you'll probably sin tomorrow BUT as with all things it takes times to change.
As for all the bad things that happen.....God gives us self will. Someone's will, not God's caused something bad. And Satan is cunning.
It says in the Bible that Christians will be persecuted. Poor Paul, once he accepted Jesus, spent more of his life in jail that out of it for preaching the WORD.
OK I'll get off my soapbox now. Our God is an AWESOME GOD!!!

When God speaks to you you will know it because it will Glorify Him
and you will feel it in your Spirit.
satan will not do that.
God said Pray in earnest & He will not let you be lead astray.
Since when is the bible the one and only document regarding religion?
If it Glorifies God then it is .
Pray and ask God to open your eyes to His Word. I did 8 years ago & He has

If the bible alone is the only word of God , are you stating that everyone else on this planet, the majority is not listening to GOD. I am trying to understand how we decide what to believe. Do we believe becasue we read the words of others and decide it must be true. Why is it that it must be true? Or do we believe because a spiritual leader tells us he believes and therefore we should believe. In the end where do we decide what to believe and why we believe. | |

one gate to go through. That is the many Faiths that show the way
to Heaven.
If you would Pray,Read & Live the way God says to in the Bible
you will have a life changing experience .
I cannot explain how it feels nor can I do it for you only God can.
The Bible was written by man...Yes....But it was God inspired man
what to write.
Has anyone ever wondered HOW we got here & WHY we are here?
We DIDN'T evolve from Fish.....
If we evolved from apes why are there still apes here then?
All I can say is God is changing my life daily & instead of asking me how
or why things are the way they are just ask the Creator & if
you REALLY want to know ......He will touch your heart in ways that

Posted: 2/8/2008 5:06:35 PM | I, like Cherokee, am a relatively new Christian. ( 7 yrs). I chose not to allow God into my life and yet I always thought he turned his back on me. I couldn't understand all the bad things that happen to good people. I also wasn't going to hell cause I was already there.
Man I used to argue the Bible, God, Jesus, the Apostles, the saints etc etc.
I came to believe in God but that was all the further I would go because if I went further I would have to change. I met a man, that was Christian, who became a good friend. I went to church with him and it was nice. The next week one of my best friends went with me. WE both accepted Christ that day and life has never been the same. Am I still a sinner? Yep. But I know the "Good Old Dude" because of Jesus, knows how I feel. He knows my heart. He knitted me in my mother's womb and has counted every tear that I have cried. How's that for a daddy?
As for all the religions.....to each their own. I have a friend that's a Wiccan. I love her dearly so it hurts me that I won't see her walk through the Gates that Cherokee talked of
