Once again though, I'm left wishing the human race would just cross-breed ourselves completely. Get our fill of genetic diversity, and get everyone looking the same (probably somewhere inbetween Indian and Chinese, if we take the population into account).
Maybe then we could finally stop having ridiculous discussions like these.

Posted: 1/19/2008 9:13:11 PM | unfortunately Caucasion females are so ful of themselves that they rarely date at all. They get together in groups, round the latest popular nightspot where they wail about man shortages but, if a guy asks them fora dance they send him packing.
If they marry it's to a millionare that they divorce after seven years. Half settlement!
If they date its black studs but those don't last more than a few dates anyway.

fifty years ago it was a big deal and even considered a mixed marriage, (not allowed) but thankfully society has come a long way since then.
and i know first hand that it can work~ my dad was chinese and my mom was german/irish. they were both american born however, which may make a difference to your question...?
either way, how can anyone say that this would be an automatic culture-collision?! of course it depends on the two people in question. | |

Agreed except that in most other parts of the country that are not as ethnically diverse, I think that (the bolded part) is still the first assumption a lot of Caucasians make. Rather than finding out about the individual, they reject the entire group of people. That's why Asians have more trouble on dating sites. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sure feels that way. | |

My last boyfriend was Japanese AND 12 years younger than me. We had a terrific 4 year relationship. I learned a lot about the internment camps where his mother lived growing up. We also visited Kyoto where his dad was from. Of all the men I have dated, he was the most courteous, family oriented, and truly a great guy. There was no culture collision at any level. I would highly recommend Japanese men! | |

And that proves my point about making assumptions. You see someone who looks different and you automatically think there will be culture and language problems.
FYI, there are many Asian-Americans who've been here for 3, 4 , or more generations - longer than most of you, I'd bet. They may have retained some aspects of their culture but for the most part, they're indistinguishable from everyone else.
Interracial dating is not for everyone. You will get looks and comments and sometimes they are not very nice.
Generally true in areas where there is very little ethnic diversity. Usually not a problem in big cities. | |

Posted: 1/20/2008 10:51:19 PM | My cousin who is a doctor, is happily-married to a beautiful soft spoken caucasian wife. I find that there are less percentage of divorce when caucasian women married asian men, then they married black men or caucasian men.
No offence, but I am telling the truth on what I know.....I heard stories from all of my caucasian women-friends who went with black men that they have bad experience with them (such as cheating, physically and mentally abusive). They are divorced now, but they have their mulatto children. The ending is that the black men end up marrying their own black women. What can I say. I also realized that most caucasian women like black more than asian. No offence, I am telling what I saw & heard. Hey everyone has their own view's points. I said most causcasian women, Not all, like black men cause they are BIG.... and they give them what they need...satisfying pleasure...lolol No offence, they told me themselves. Now they told me if they have known better, they will not have gone with the black cause with the mulatto children stringing along, it is hard to date their own people, let alone asian, too. That is what I have seen, told and heard from those white women who go with black and have mulatto children. I know they will be lot of reponses defending themselves. | |

The asians though seem to play with caucasian women because they look down on them! Think about it, they wouldn't do the same to an asian woman and they wouldn't introduce you to their family either...there's your answer.
There might be the odd exception but in general I stay away from asians and I was engaged to a non caucasian once...:) | |

How can you possibly attribute the actions of one or two Asians you've dated to the entire group of Asians? That's as ignorant as it gets. What if I said all Caucasian women were sluts and ho-bags because an ex cheated on me? Would that be a correct statement?

I wish people would drift further from even the term "inter-racial" dating. And if you think about it, it really only applies to thoes who are 100% yellow, black, white, whatever.
Where does it leave the mixes? Should I really be on the search for girls who are half white, half black, and every other girl I date we would have to be considered "inter-racial"?
Bullshit I say, we mixes should all breed and things like being white and black and asian will all be in the past and we can all date whoever we want!! YAY!!! | |

Wasn't it the Chinese? I thought the first influx of Chinese to the U.S. are as laborers during the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad right after the Civil War, which is why San Francisco has a Chinatown since the mid-1800s.
I remember back to the Japan-bashing in the 1980s and cringe to think what the near future will bring, what with China becoming the kind of economic giant Japan was back in the 1980s.
Here's an interesting question to ponder: What effect the Beijing Olympics this year will have: Will it show a different face of the Chinese to the rest of the world to soften the stereotypes, or will it just harden them instead? | |

Posted: 1/22/2008 1:52:44 AM | Yes, the Chinese were the first Asians on record to come to America. The first groups came over to work as laborers during the California Gold Rush which was before the Transcontinental Railroad.
According to the wikipedia, Chinese Americans are the largest group of ethnic Asian Americans in the US. | |
