Posted: 11/13/2005 7:11:16 AM | Wow, 20 years? Congratulations on that! I have been here....two weeks? Perhaps a little longer and have met...3-4 guys and have two more that want to go out this week. I've gotten a LOT of e-mails and in turn have written a lot of e-mails. I don't normally like dating, I enjoy being single and keeping my brain on track of what I want to accomplish in my life...but so far it's been fun. :)
I do count first meets as dates, and most of them were dinner and then something else like a walk or a drive. I've found for the most part that the guys tend to be nervous in the begining and I'm honing my "help them be comfortable" skills. :) I'm becoming quite good at keeping the conversation flowing and getting them to open up and talk about themselves.
As for that, I've only met one man that there was enough chemistry to meet for a second date...which we did. I did, however, have a wonderful time on all of my dates and all of the guys were nice people with some great traits. But then, I tell them up front I don't do "casual sex" (which has gotten me in trouble one or two times). :)
Oh, and I completly agree with Plucky ducks "ten commandments". If your opening line has anything to do with my looks, no matter how good your intentions...my brain automatically shoves you into the "losers looking for ass" catagory. ;) And you had BETTER read my profile or you arent getting anywhere with me.  | |

Really I have no expectations hence saving myself from the disappointments. A couple of times I was challenged and was disappointed by men who act like they are single yet they are married..be truthful guys, say it like it is....perhaps im picky to a certain extent but at this time in my life I feel I have a right to be. three where dislikes without follow ups...
One is recently an affair now but this wount last too long I think.
One of my dates is a friend now. We start to make some business together.
She is not my type but honest and a good personality, worth to make an effort!
I found an exellent female chess partner on here!
Yes, shes not my type either, a bit gaga but wow that girl play....

relationship with one for a brief time
sex with 2 (LOTS of sex with one)
not bad dates but no connection with the most
2 boring dead dates which left me wondering how life can be so dull.
met a few VERY sweet girls who I still talk to and would date anyday I suppose. | |

For me, the only part that requires effort is deciding if you want to meet the person. Since I'm just looking to make friends, it's a little easier for me. The guys that want more (right off the bat) are the ones I usually don't decide to meet. | |

been here like almost a year I think not sure
had 8 dates- made allot of great friends
2 were somewhat serious but then again I was probobly the only one taking them seriously,
6 of them well it just wasnt mean to be and the last one I was told "it would be in my best interest to date him, well I figured hey give it a shot I liked his confidence. I should have known when it went from meeting for a nice date only for him to stick his tounge in my ear (unwanted of course ugh) and for him to do some further really undescriable things that made me want to get out fast, did I realize that it became a "Ah Hell No!" date. But I still hang in there and well I am a sucker for the forums. | |

My answer is that I enjoy dinner and try to have a decent time anyways. I do not need to want to bang someones brains out to have a good time out and make use of the time we allotted together for good times either way; ya know? (I know, this may blow the socks off of some, but hey)

I met my B/F on here...we talked 4 a while online ...then on the phone... then met n a very public place... then went 2 a more casual place 2 talk easier... the beach was 2 far...so we went 2 a park near by... I was on POF 4 about 1 month B4 we started talking... we have bn Cn each other since July 2005 ... is funny when we met it was as friends... that was all it was supposed 2 B... but we R very comfortable 2gether n enjoy each others company... I have bn talkin 2 a few other people that I would consider them 4 friends... there R really nice people on here ...but then again I have met a few (very few) that were NOT!!! It's all n what U R lookin 4... Thanx 2 POF I found a really sweet, kind, gentle man and I am glad I got on this site... I hope U all find what n who U R lookin 4....So I guess the answer 2 the question that started this thread is 8 months n lots of great dates.... just all with the same man!!!!  Best 2 U ALL!!! took a break in July...found a my fishy in August-it did not work out....
somebody from BC contacted me in October - she was getting a job in my Country...
She is with me now and has asked me to move in with her....well it seems pretty serious. | |
