| 2nd Glasgow Meet Feb 9th Posted: 1/24/2008 2:33:34 PM | A big welcome to all the new people who have signed up for the meet, looking forward to seeing you all have a good time. Remember and get there early folks, although upstairs only holds about 50 people, downstairs is big enough to hold everyone but don't leave it to chance and come later....there are regulars too so the pub will fill up pretty quickly. I can just see PoF taking over the whole pub that night (which won't be a bad thing) | |

| 2nd Glasgow Meet Posted: 1/24/2008 3:02:40 PM | | Yes I'm keen. A few hours in Glasgow is better than a decade in Dalry. And I could do with a decent pair of trousers | |

| 2nd Glasgow Meet Feb 9th Posted: 1/24/2008 5:10:31 PM | God, I've just signed up for this and not got an inkling of what's in store. It better be casual,. I will be driving over from the East Neuk of Fife but will probably dump the car somewhere easy to find and then bus/taxi to Maltman. Anybody en route welcome to lift, but I ain't searching for you all night to bring you back. Agreed place/time for return. I had never heard of these meets before but will give it a go.

| 2nd Glasgow Meet Feb 9th Posted: 1/25/2008 12:26:12 PM | Thats over 200 now Scrummy even beat my estimation but i just wonder how many will actually turn up and people better turn up early or the bouncers will not let them in. In other words the pubs full. and on a great night to be | |
|
| 2nd Glasgow Meet Feb 9th Posted: 1/25/2008 1:05:49 PM | Oh my!! Even if only half of these people turn up, the place is going to be sooooooo full LOL And if peeps are bringing a friend wel..........................still, I'll be there bright and early, don't want to get turned away at the door | |
|
| 2nd Glasgow Meet Feb 9th Posted: 1/25/2008 2:35:17 PM | Can I just say a BIG THANKYOU to all the kind people on here who have offered lifts, a bed for the night, to meet people coming on their own etc you are all stars
Well, when I took this little project on I obviously didn't realise the power of mass e-mail and every time I log on I shut my eyes...then open one slightly to peek at the numbers...then take a rather large gulp of my drink (alcoholic of course)
Can I also ask people who have signed up for the meet but don't think they'll be able to make it to take their name off the list. Failing that, if everyone is coming then GET THERE EARLY...the pub is big enough to hold a couple of hundred people between upstairs and down....but if you don't get there early it will fill up with the general public, so you can't say you haven't been told if you turn up at 10pm and get turned away by the door staff. If this does happen just let them know you are part of Plenty Of Fish and they may take pity on you and let you in
DRESS CODE: SMART /CASUAL, JEANS ARE FINE, TRACKSUITS, FOOTBALL COLOURS AND TRAINERS A DEFINITE NO
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the night

Never bottle it! It's bad for your health I hear :P Definatly grab the bull by the horns the other end smells and could be messy. Err ignore me I'm tired
Seriously though don't look at it as fear look at it as excitement. I'm going to be there just as alone and that I don't care about one bit. Simple way to look at it is if you don't go you could very well be missing an opportunity you may never get another chance at. No one is going to bite (although some might if you ask hehe) we are all adults and many of us are in the same position. Honestly there's nothing to be afraid of just come along and meet likeminded people and have fun. No one is going to make you do something you don't want to do.
As for work early the next morning. Ouch but you don't have to stay all night if you don't want to ;)

| 2nd Glasgow Meet Feb 9th Posted: 1/25/2008 8:16:37 PM | its great to see so many people signing up. even if only half turn up there should still be a good crowd. i suspect there will be quite a number that dont turn up. but it will still be a good night. so many guys and girls are worried about turning up on their own. if you cant turn up for a crowd of people that are mainly in the same boat then what chance do you have if you manage to get a one on one date with someone? would you not turn up for your new job just because you did not know anyone? mail each other even just to say hello and then you will at least not feel so much like you are just on your own.

| 2nd Glasgow Meet Feb 9th Posted: 1/26/2008 3:40:47 AM | So whats the maltman close to? I stay in Larkhall but im terrible at finding anywhere! | |
|
| 2nd Glasgow Meet Feb 9th Posted: 1/26/2008 4:09:38 AM | Well ill defo be going...looks like it will be a fab night although ill be going alone as single mates are a bit far n few between Looks like a great mix of guys & girls going n look forward to meeting u all
Anyone travelling from fife needing a lift id be happy to oblige.
Also wouldnt mind hearing about places to stay close by as not going to be drinking & driving car to get back home the same night.
And would also like to say to the folk that are concerned about going on their own....DONT BE....a lot of other folk will be doing exactly the same as yourself...which includes me & offers from many folk to meet up are there before actually heading to the Maltman....don't feel alone & not attend just coz ur single without single mates....single folk are a rare breed these days
