| If it's true that matter can neither be created nor destroyed... Posted: 2/5/2008 7:19:02 PM |
By forced collisions, I meant actual collisions of nuclei. When you compress a gas and its temperature rises, you did not produce any energy. You converted the mechanical energy to heat. You didn't get any "new" energy out of the system, as opposed to burning something or using nuclear fission.
Hmm, I may have worded that wrong... You don't just get new energy out of the system, but you do convert mass to energy... Even by burning something you don't get new energy... It's all conversion.

It's an amazing thought really, all the energy that is inside you now has been here since it was created in the 'big bang' (if you believe in such things of course )
So perhaps this existence that we perceive (matter, energy, and all forces) is a stabile reaction to a vast amount of energy. And perhaps there are more complex reactions in other parts of the universe or separate from the universe and even less complex reactions.

Matter and energy are just aspects of form and are the same thing just as steam and ice are aspects of water... Everything goes through changes... There isn't one thing which doesn't... Change requires some type of work, so I'm quite certain all form is made of energy.
Currently the only place we know of that creates mass is the inside of NOVA's and super nova's! It takes a tremendous amount of energy to create a single atom of mass ( the square of the speed of light is a VERY BIG number). Every time a nova creates a heavy element from lighter elements a small amount of mass is added in the process (something like 0.0001%).
When we split a heavy atom in a reactor or bomb this energy is released BOOM!

Interesting... But do we know for a fact it is made there? Could they be pulling energy from elsewhere, like another universe?

Posted: 2/6/2008 10:48:17 AM | | In the early 20th century, scientist like Einstein, Bohr, Heisenberg, Schrödinger and other founders of quantum theory proved that it was not a material world at all. Many of the founders of quantum even had an interest in spiritual matters. They discovered that the physical universe is essentially non-physical. It seems to arise from a field that is even more subtle than energy, a field that seems to be more like intelligence or consciousness than matter. This energy can never be distroyed it is absolute.

Posted: 2/6/2008 2:27:42 PM | Heisenberg(father of matrix quantum mechanics&uncertainty principle) had two Jewish parents, but I'm sure, but he may have been an agnostic, Schrodinger(father of quantum wave theory) drew his inspiration from a woman that he took to the Swiss Alps over a six week holiday, Einstein was a humanist the didn't believe in a God that mettled in things(he also didn't believe much in quantum mechanics anyway, which pretty much lead him to waste the last half his life trying to develop a unified theory based on general relativity). Neils Bohr only contribution to quantum mechanics was his students. His claim to fame was a valiance theory of atoms which only worked for hydrogen. His theory was later modify to work for other atoms. These guy's were legends when they stuck to explaining the physical world with mathematics, not be of any supernatural beliefs the harbored. Having said that, I'm not following you.
As for Novas & Super Novas creating matter, they don't. They disperse it.

wouldn't it mean all living things (including us) turn into some other kind of energy when they die?
I think the better question is: "Is Consciousness a form of energy? or is it just a pattern of energy or matter?"
We still don't have a clear grasp of what consciousness is and how it relates/connects to our physical bodies.

My understanding (and I may be wrong) is that during the implosion of a nova or supernova as heaver elements are made from collisions of lighter elements some of the energy of the collision is added to the mass of the new heavy element.
Heavy elements tens to be unstable with all the nuclei crammed together and the extra energy is used to hold the nuclei together but it gets expressed as added mass. This is called "Binding Energy" See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binding_energy#Mass_deficit
this is why when a Uranium 235 atom is split the mass of the two resultant particles dose not add up to the mass of the original particle. The extra mass is expressed as pure energy in the form of heat and hard radiation.
This is the only example I can think of where nature converts energy into mass outside of the lab.
And yes your right as well they disburse all the new heavy elements as well.
I checked this on Wikipedia and found: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nucleosynthesis and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_fusion

| If it's true that matter can neither be created nor destroyed... Posted: 2/7/2008 7:12:19 AM | Super novae are the reason why Sentient Beings like us exist (according to current theories anyway).
Lighter elements (like hydrogen and helium) are fused into much heavier elements (such as those that make up us) and indeed, in the run away catastrophe of a super nova explosion, it is here, in these extreme conditions of an event whose energy output exceeds that of an entire galaxy (for an instant anyway), that the most heaviest of the elements are formed.
The explosive force of the supernova then disperses these new heavy elements over many, many light-years, to be recycled into new star systems... Hence our Sol system with our Sun being either a 2nd or 3rd generation (i.e. recycled) star.
With regard to mass-energy conversions, the Sun, as we speak, is converting millions of tons of its own mass into pure energy, via the nuclear fusion process. Atomic weapons (not H bombs!) and nuclear power stations use the far less effective method of nuclear fission to generate energy.
In the process of nuclear fusion or fission, the end result has a small, but detectable mass "loss". It is this mass loss which, via Einstein's equation, gives rise to the energy produced in the reaction.
With regards to the reverse process; energy being "frozen" back into matter, this routinely happens in our large particle accelerators, where particles and "exotic" particles are created out of the energy of particle annihilations.
There are (according to the standard model), 12 matter particles in our Universe that are "stable". Six quarks, three flavours of electrons and three flavours of neutrinos. However, their antimatter equivalents can be artificially created (for mere moments in time) in our particle accelerators as well as a whole host of other particles that have different arrangements of quarks. Such as the pion, the kaon, the meson... (the list is quite extensive!).
However, it is quite possible that there are places in our Universe that harbours very stable "exotic" particles and indeed, dark matter, which accounts for 96% of the mass-energy density of the Universe but is invisible to us currently, may harbour such particles.
The picture is FAR from complete and indeed the Standard Model, although very successful, still has some glaring holes in it.

Posted: 2/7/2008 7:19:30 AM | | One of the ways heavy elements are "created" by nucleosynthetic that occur during a supernova(r process). What happens here is that there are lots of neutrons bombarding existing elements. Matter isn't "created" is more of a transformation.

Could we somehow measure what happens to our electrical field at the moment of death? Or does it just break down into something organic?
I don't think our consciousness is purely an electrical field... I suspect their are other forms of energy and possibly other dimensions involved.
There are instances where people have had ALL electrical activity in the brain stopped (extreme hypothermia, etc) and yet fully recovered after being resuscitated. this leads me to believe their is more to our consciousness than just electrical or chemical energy.
PS: Meditation is a great way to explore ones own consciousness, It is amazing what one can discover about oneself.

| If it's true that matter can neither be created nor destroyed... Posted: 2/8/2008 8:28:43 AM | As we get closer to the truth, physics and metaphysics must merge, or in other words, science will meet spirit. The main difference between science and spirituality was: true spirituality you look within traditional scientists look to external sources But now, scientists are beginning to look within, to solve external scientific problems, because almost every day new information is coming out that does not make sense under the old science (such as psychic phenomenon). Scientists are now beginning to go straight to the real source, which is the same source that supplies metaphysics. Therefore, it is inevitable that physics and metaphysics merge. “It was very important that, a long time ago, we made the decision to separate spirit from science. And so we were able to learn how to do science. But now we’ve learned, and we can take on the richer task of learning to do science when consciousness is part of the experiment.” -William Tiller, Ph.D. Science’s approach to The Truth The initial goal of science was, of course, not to separate science and spirit, but instead to understand nature. In early/ancient civilizations science and spirituality were meant to compliment each other and nature. Scientists wanted to understand nature, so they could live in harmony with it, not so they could dominate it. Only until the middle of the 16th century did this really change. Materialism, which is the theory that physical matter is the only reality and that everything, including thought, feeling, mind, and will, can be explained in terms of matter and physical phenomena brought about the separation between science and spirit. Since, under this way of thinking, physical well-being and worldly possessions became the greatest good and had the highest value in life. The world was thought of as a machine, and there was no need for God or metaphysics / spirituality. Then came quantum physics ... The understanding that the material world is not material at all, more like intelligence or consciousness than matter. Science and spirit will have to merge in order to agree. I believe that through quantum physics, science will prove many of the ancient metaphysical / spiritual teachings (as it is already doing) and in the process we will see the convergence to science and spirit.
Or as Fred Allan Wolf, Ph.D. said: “It isn’t a question of science bringing spirituality in. It’s more a question of expanding the circle within which both science and spirituality lie, so that the kind of question we can ask can be looked at from the different points of view that both science and spirituality bring to the table. It’s important to realize that the subject, the ‘inner space,’ is worthy of great exploration. It’s important to realize that the ways we explore the ‘inner space’ may not be the same ways that we explore ‘outer space.’ But the ways that we understand inner space may be greatly assisted by the ways that we understand the quantum nature of the physical world.”

| If it's true that matter can neither be created nor destroyed... Posted: 2/13/2008 9:05:58 PM | Something that i have wondered for a while, interesting to see if anyone could answer for me.
Fairly recently scientists did an experiment with atoms. Using 1 molecule of water (H20), they slowed the speed of which the electron spun around one of the Hydrogen atoms, and immediately the other 2 atoms directly copied it. So they then split the atom apart (being water, its relatively easy to split) and slowed the atom down again. Though they were now apart, the other atoms copied the first. The scientists were puzzled by this, and took it a step further, they went arcoss to a lab in the other side of the US with the same 2 atoms, leaving the first atom behind, slowed the first atom down, and they copied it again.
I was wondering if anyone could explain why it happened? I know it fits in with QP, but there are alot of pieces missing in my mind.

This may be of interest to you...
Below are experiments which leave me with a sense of hope and understanding of what healing is and how it works.... I hope that it does the same for you.
DNA Report
by Greg Braden
Below are three astonishing experiments with DNA which proves that DNA can heal itself according to the "feelings" of the individual as reported recently by Gregg Braden. In his recent program entitled Healing Hearts/Healing Nations: The Science of Peace and the Power of Prayer, Gregg Braden discussed how in the past we lost huge amounts of information from ancient spiritual traditions (when the library at Alexandria burned we lost at least 532,000 documents), and that there may be information in those traditions which could help us understand some of the mysteries of science. To this end he reported on three very interesting experiments. Gregg Braden started off as a scientist and engineer, before he began pursuing these larger questions.
EXPERIMENT 1
The first experiment reported was done by Dr.Vladimir Poponin, a quantum biologist. In this experiment, first a container was emptied (ie a vacuum was created within it), and then the only thing left photons (particles of light) they measured the distribution (ie the location) of the photons and found they were completely random inside the container. This was the expected result. Then some DNA was placed inside the container and the distribution (location) of the photons was remeasured. This time the photons were LINED UP in an ORDERED way and aligned with the DNA. In other words the physical DNA had an effect on the non-physical photons.
After that, the DNA was removed from the container, and the distribution of the photons was remeasured again. The photons REMAINED ORDERED and lined up where the DNA had been. What are the light particles connected to?
Gregg Braden says we are forced to accept the possibility that some NEW field of energy, a web of energy, is there and the DNA is communicating with the photons through this energy.
EXPERIMENT 2
These were experiments done by the military. Leukocytes (white blood cells) were collected for DNA from donors and placed into chambers so they could measure electrical changes. In this experiment, the donor was placed in one room and subjected to "emotional stimulation" consisting of video clips, which generated different emotions in the donor. The DNA was placed in a different room in the same building. Both the donor and his DNA were monitored and as the donor exhibited emotional peaks or valleys (measured by electrical responses), the DNA exhibited the IDENTICAL RESPONSES AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. There was no lag time, no transmission time. The DNA peaks and valleys EXACTLY MATCHED the peaks and valleys of the donor in time. The military wanted to see how far away they could separate the donor from his DNA and still get this effect. They stopped testing after they separated the DNA and the donor by 50 miles and STILL had the SAME result. No lag time; no transmission time.
The DNA and the donor had the same identical responses in time. What can this mean? Gregg Braden says it means that living cells communicate through a previously unrecognized form of energy. This energy is not affected by time and distance. This is a non-local form of energy, an energy that already exists everywhere, all the time.
EXPERIMENT 3
The third experiment was done by the Institute of Heart Math and the paper that was written about this was titled: Local and Non local Effects of Coherent Heart Frequencies on Conformational Changes of DNA. (Disregard the title! The info is incredible.)
This is the experiment that relates directly to the anthrax situation. In this experiment, some human placenta DNA (the most pristine form of DNA) was placed in a container from which they could measure changes in the DNA. Twenty-eight vials of DNA were given (one each) to 28 trained researchers. Each researcher had been trained how to generate and FEEL feelings, and they each had strong emotions.
What was discovered was that the DNA CHANGED ITS SHAPE according to the feelings of the researchers:
1. When the researchers FELT gratitude, love and appreciation, the DNA responded by RELAXING and the strands unwound. The length of the DNA became longer.
2. When the researchers FELT anger, fear, frustration, or stress, the DNA responded by TIGHTENING UP. It became shorter and SWITCHED OFF many of our DNA codes! If you've ever felt "shut down" by negative emotions, now you know why your body was equally shut down too. The shut down of the DNA codes was reversed and the codes were switched back on again when feelings of love, joy, gratitude and appreciation were felt by the researchers.
This experiment was later followed up by testing HIV positive patients. They discovered that feelings of love, gratitude and appreciation created 300,000 TIMES the RESISTANCE they had without those feelings. So here's the answer to what can help you stay well, no matter what dreadful virus or bacteria may be floating around. Stay in feelings of joy, love, gratitude and appreciation!
These emotional changes went beyond the effects of electro-magnetics. Individuals trained in deep love were able to change the shape of their DNA. Gregg Braden says this illustrates a new recognized form of energy that connects all of creation. This energy appears to be a TIGHTLY WOVEN WEB that connects all matter. Essentially we're able to influence this web of creation through our VIBRATION.
SUMMARY:
What do the results of these experiments have to do with our present situation? This is the science behind how we can choose a timeline to stay safe, no matter what else is happening. As Gregg explains in The Isaiah Effect, basically time is not just linear (past, present and future), but it also has depth. The depth of time consists of all the possible prayers and timelines that could ever be prayed or exist. Essentially, all our prayers have already been answered. We just activate the one we're living through our FEELINGS. THIS is how we create our reality - by choosing it with our feelings. Our feelings are activating the timeline via the web of creation, which connects all of the energy and matter of the Universe.
Remember that the law of the Universe is that we attract what we focus on. If you are focused on fearing whatever may come, you are sending a strong message to the Universe to send you whatever you fear. Instead if you can get yourself into feelings of joy, love, appreciation or gratitude, and focus on bringing more of that into your life, you are going to avoid the negative stuff automatically.
You will be choosing a different TIMELINE with your feelings.
You can prevent getting anthrax or any other flu, virus, etc, by staying in these positive feelings, which maintains an incredibly strong immune system.
So here's your protection for whatever comes: Find something to be happy about every day, and every hour if possible, moment-to-moment, even if only for a few minutes. This is the easiest and best protection you can have. If nothing else, be joyous that the criminals have "already been caught" by the Universe! Gregg Braden

| If it's true that matter can neither be created nor destroyed... Posted: 2/15/2008 5:05:47 AM | The electrical energy that our bodies produce comes from chemical electrolites potentials against tissue membranes. As long as these chemicals are present they carry thier respective charge in terms of electronegativity. Most of our bodies electrolites are neutral because thier charges cancel-out due to the fact that these are in an aquious solution of the cytoplasm. All chemicals & materials have some charge but seem neutral because these are grounded.
When we die, metabolism of electrolites ends, mainly because the heart has stopped pumping the blood that carries oxygen. Oxygen potentiates most of our bodies aerobic metabolism. Without oxygen, the tissue cells end their ATP Cycle, which is an electrolite driven metabolisim of phosphate, and the main source of heat for the body.
Spirit energies fall into the realm of meta-physics. Theologists and philosophers have been argueing this since the first spark of intilect. I myself believe that the spirit can leave impressions in materials. And, that after death, that the spirit may linger with or even outside the body for a short time and then it disapates away into the static of the world.
To answer the question: No, it's the same net electrical energy as when we are alive, but the electrical potentials are lost due to homoginization in solution of the charged electrolites.
It's like when one buffers acid and base. Both the acid and the base are present in thier original gross quantity in the solution, but the pH may be neutral because these cancel each other out in terms of the net reactivity.
It was an intiresting question.

Being an empath I pick up energy and vibrations from other sources. Not just humans. I am hyper sensitive to this. I also pick up energy of spirits .. Feelings and emotional vibrations, I think continue on and do not die out.. they are manifestations of experiences which are built upon whilst in this earthly existance.. enabling us to manifest our own heaven beyond our biological death..

What does it mean the world is not material at all? This doesn't make any sense to me. I know a little about physics and quantum mechanics and none of these statements make sense. Quantum mechanics is a physical theory that makes reliable predictions. It seems to me the things around us are in fact "material" and many physical processes obey Newton's Laws to a very good approximation. So what do these statements mean as far as physics goes????

I myself would like to assume that once I take my final breadth, a different "body of light" made of a currently unknown undiscovered, anti-matter property would lead me to my next spiritual domain. Hopefully my behavior and conduct in this materialistic world would allow me to continue to serve a higher Ideal..
