Thanks gals, two things we just cannot live without-men and food.......

Blue cheese salad dressing

1 cup mayo ( I like Hellmans)
1 cup sour cream ( Breakstone for me)
1/2 cup buttermilk
a sprinkle of fine sea salt
dash of worchestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon of garlic
dash of tobasco sauce
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
sprinkle of white pepper
1 teaspoon of sugar
6-8 oz. blue cheese, crumbled (I love Maytag but others will be fine)

Combine ingredients, adjust seasonings. Will keep a week at least. Great on lettuce wedges with tomato and bacon, with wings, in potato salad, veggie dip, on baked potatoes, with fried veggies....

Now that gives me another use for my blue cheese salad dressing.....I tend to be a creative person, and I was thinking of chocolate cherry cheesecake and hot fudge sauce, seems I need to think of other possibilites....hahaha.....

Tell you what, moonshine. Skip the casino, give me your money, and I'll feed you. You'll save time and aggravation and get a free meal!

Tonight, something with ocean perch and poblano peppers. Maybe some dirty rice.

Chores!

Hiya naughty you sure you don't drool? I heard green eyes catches and eats gators! . Boy did I feel dumb. Was kinda funny though.

My grille is half an old 55 galon drum. I put some wood in it and let it burn down to coals. Then I put wet hickory and maple twigs on it and move the coals and wet wood to the edges of the grill. I make a u shaped cover out of aluminum foil and cover the loin. I stick a thermometer through the foil into the loin in the middle. As it cooks I raise the foil and spritz some basting mix my grandpa used. I add 1 or 2 charcoal pieces and some wet maple or hickory chips after about 20 minutes. Use a thermometer to make SURE the temperature is less than 350. I usually keep it at 300-325. After the internal temp is about 150 I raise the grill to where the temp is about 200 or so and remove the foil. When the meat is up to 165 I move the rack from the heat and let it rest for about half an hour or so. Grandpa always said to let fire cooked meat "rest" and it'll taste great and not be dry. It sure works for me!

To make the spray get a cup lemon or orange juice, tablespoon of syrup, and about a cup of water. When the spray will go through a spray bottle it is thin enough. It makes a kind of glaze and tastes great!! .

Hey EruditeRedneck: Are you startin' rumors about me? LOL...I TOLD YA already...I TRIED blackoned gator at The Green Turtle Inn on the way to Key West. LOL

Okay..I've been a bit under the weather. A certain "someone" has been keeping me up at night talking for hours on end. They KNOW who they are so blame "them" for making me feel this way. I have lost much needed "beauty sleep" so my resistance is low. Oh well...it was fun while it lasted, I suppose. Guess they're mad that I didn't attend the dance, but I just didn't feel well enough to go.

I didn't feel much like eating so I merely had a cup of my homemade broccoli cheese soup.

I hope everyone is doing well. I'll be back to my "usual good-natured self" soon enough. Ha Ha!!!

Bye for now...~~Beth~~

Well Vulf? Just where were you 4 hours ago eh?
I just bet $140 would have bought enough groceries to make one heck of a dinner! Just paint me stupid!
I came home the loser but a winner at the same time cuz my divorce papers were in my mailbox!

OT: I had a cold hamburger left over from last nite!

After a long day of work and an early morning tomorrow for fun, I'm doing something easy. I've got these "eggplant parmesean bites" in the toaster oven that I saw while I was shopping (hungry and browsing) the other night. Or I may just stick with this red wine I just popped open.

What happened with my picture?? I didn't put that one on as my primary photo, although it is me and it's been in my alalbum a while.
I had too too long a day so I didn't want to cook. Actually what I didn't want to do is clean up if I cooked, so I chose this time honored recipe for tonight:
Start the car at my sisters, 19 mile north.
Drive east for 1 mile, south for 17 miles, take the first exit in town,
turn left at the Burger King, drive up to the squawk box .
Wait for order taker
order whopper Jr without tomato ketchup or mayonnaise and a diet whatever they serve
Drive 1 mile south, 1/2 mile east.
Park. go in house
Sit on couch
Eat
hahahaha At the very first Naughty you said we had to give the recipe so I did LOL.

It's an omen, moonbeam. You're nearly free! And I have more fish!

I did the perch Meuniere style, S&P, floured it and sautéed it in browned butter, and served it with a browned butter and lime juice, capers, and parsley, over basmati rice tossed with a little salt and sorrel from the garden. (Lemon is usual, but limes were cheaper.)

Do you know sorrel? I almost never see it in the store, and it's expensive when it is, so I have a few plants that'll last me all summer. It's a small leafed green, tender, with a nice, sour kick to the lettuce-y flavor. Some people cook it, but I think it looses its best qualities, its texture and tang, when you cook it. Or when I cook it.

Chores!

Vulf

Oh! For dessert, freshly slaughtered pineapple with a bit of cracked black pepper. Try it!

Awe Green Eyes? What a shock that musta been for you darlin! I will never understand why some folks are so mean to others.
And Vulf? The papers were my decree nisi (sp) so I am totally free as a danged bird! Been waiting for this for a long long time! Yipee!!! So watch out, some day I just may take ya up on the offer of cooked fish!

OT: I have this egglpant that I have been wanting to try. Never had one before. So guess dinner will be planned around this silly purple veggie?

I am making a patty melt and a baked potato with a green salad with balsamic vinegrette dressing. Later on I will cook cabbage, squash, peas, turnip greens, creamed corn, rutabagas and corn bread. Add some sliced tomatoes and chow chow and this Georgia peach will be happy.

Just made THREE racks of ribs ..cut in fourths in cooking bags covered with KC Masterpieces BBQ sauce. Then will package them up in foil and freezer bags to heat up on the grill and get that grill flavor and crispiness to them.

Going to prepare some Turkey Tettrazini now as well for a luncheon.

Okay...all..I will talk to you all later.

It is cold and rainy, so I made pea soup and a croque monsieur. Had a glass of milk. That was lunch. I'm unsure of what to make for dinner.

Hot and rainy here, so ordered in pizza. Wasn't in the mood to cook tonight anyway. Neighbors had a fire pit party and I've been up since 3 am after intermitant dozing since 11.

I'm tired.
