| Valentines Day in Red Deer? Feb 16th? How YOU doin'? Posted: 2/2/2008 7:08:35 PM | The facebook event page:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=7817217922
Nothing really new to see there - we tossed it up because there's a shatload of people who could potentially be invited who are NOT on POF. Though last time we had 180+ people sign up on POF, and about 35 on Facebook.. lol. So far we're at 23 this time around....

| Valentines Day in Red Deer? Feb 16th? How YOU doin'? Posted: 2/5/2008 5:54:12 AM | I should say here that there are supposed to be more rooms available now at the North Hill Inn. I talked to Danielle the other night and she said that a block of rooms were probably going to be freed up. I guess there were other groups planning to use them but that fell through.
Ok then, I'm going back to bed.

| Valentines Day in Red Deer? Feb 16th? How YOU doin'? Posted: 2/5/2008 4:53:00 PM | Hey everyone,
Alright, so the silent auction deal has fallen through. See, I'd need to obtain a license to sell tickets for a silent auction (gaming rules), and I'm not about to take that route. So here's what we're going to do instead.
Those who still want to donate an item from the business they work for (promo items, etc) are invited to do so. What I'm going to do is use them as door prizes. I'll give away tickets at the entrance to the back room (or have people do it in 20 min shifts). It won't be a perfect system, but hey, it's a fun night, who cares. The deal will be, when a product is won by someone, the DJ will announce the company that donated the item, so your company will be getting some exposure at the same time. So far I have had some interesting items offered from you guys, so keep it up!

| Valentines Day in Red Deer? Feb 16th? How YOU doin'? Posted: 2/7/2008 6:28:22 PM | | O.K.....for those of you travelling to Red Deer, and to those of you who don't want to wake your roommates with 'sounds of love', there is a block of rooms booked off at the North Hill Inn under the name POF. They were previously unavailable, but they are open now. And Rob, the posters are in and are going up around town as we write! | |

| Valentines Day in Red Deer? Feb 16th? How YOU doin'? Posted: 2/11/2008 8:56:19 PM | OK...less than a week away!!! Wow, TC...I can't believe you took on another of these events! Can't WAIT! You always put on a GREAT event!
So...for anyone feeling kinda shy or nervous about attending the big event at Wild Bill's by themselves (it can be pretty intimidating for most), or for anyone who just wants to show up and have a good time and a couple of drinks and meet some people before the event, the pre-meet is at my house again!!
For obvious reasons, I will not post the address or my phone number in the forums, but if you are interested in coming, send me a message. I will send you the address and directions, and my cell number for in case you get lost.
This is a GREAT way to meet a dozen or so people and get to know them before heading out to the large event. EVERYONE is welcome!! Bring friends if you would like.
Like last time, I will be supplying mix and snacks. Just bring whatever you want to drink. I have had some emails from brand-new POFfers, so it looks like this should be a GREAT time!!!

| Valentines Day in Red Deer? Feb 16th? How YOU doin'? Posted: 2/12/2008 2:08:16 AM | It should be known, as always, that I endorse the pre-meet idea. I used to host some at my place, but I decided that it was easier for me to let others do it so that I wasn't tied down with people at my place when I had to hit the road to the main event. Sometimes the pre-meets run a bit later than a host like me would like, and that's not a bad thing, but it is if people at the pub are wondering where the heck I are.. lol.
If you're shy, you can bring a friend to the pub, OR really stick your neck out and come to a pre-meet. Why is this good? Imagine coming into a room with 100+ people you've never met. Hard eh? How about coming into a pre-meet room with 15 or so people? Less chance of you being ignored, and I guarantee that.
Oh, and in case this was a topic of confusion..... A Valentines Day POF event doesn't mean you have to be single. You and your special someone are SO welcome to this event, simply because this is a VALENTINES DAY event. C'mon! There are going to be some door prizes that will relate to YOU! Not just the single guys and gals.
Lastly, this is a challenge to the veteran POFers out there. I know you're signed up and coming to have a good time, and I know we don't get paid to keep people interested in POF, but how about some of us milling about with some of the seemingly unknown people we've never seen before? I tend to do it a fair bit while being a host, but some of these events still get a reputation for being kinda clicky (because a fair number of us DO know each other). I could probably do better. What I want to see is everyone having fun, and for the veterans, yes, fun, but target some confused/scared faces. I'm betting this could make things even more fun. I'm SURE of it.
