with this person I get nervous and tong tied and simply lose my ability to communicate. To the point I come across clumsy and socially goofy. I actually like the feeling. She is very attractive but this isn’t about looks. There is just something about her that makes me weak.
I know that feeling!!! Great isn't it!!!!
That's the feeling we all crave!!!! It stays with you for hours!!! Even days!!!
And you're right ...it's not about looks. It's that "chemical reaction" you have when you're in their presence. They just "turn you on" ... and they can do no wrong. And you can't wipe the smile from your face when in their presence ... or even thinking about them. It's ... magic!!!

Create a plan.

Drive forward.
Complete the mission.
I suppose I can get up and do it one more time.

Why can't you drive forward and accomplish the mission?

If my buddy were to ask me out, quite frankly I think I'd be terrified. I wouldn't know what to do. I'm so practiced at being friends with men, that's all I understand. lol, not necessarily a buddy, just someone I might be interested in....know the feelin'

They do??? Heck, I never got OUTA that stage, lol. I still am terribly shy when it comes to someone I'm interested in.
I've had a few crushes, just never let 'em know. Sadly, two of them could have been more had I known it at the time and not been so damnably shy. They didn't have a crush on me, just liked me and would have given it a shot had they known how I felt. Oh well, better to know years later than not at all I guess. Come to think of it, I don't think anyone's ever had a crush on me...if they did, they never let on...would be nice to know ....I just don't think I'm "crush" material, lol. | |

People usually don't let on about crushes, do they? That's why they're crushes--they exist in the purgatory, or in the grey space between sleep and wake. They aren't supposed to be part of our everyday reality.

Yeppers... had a serious crush from our first email exchanges. I'm "never" nervous but when we met I was immediately transported back to high school. lol,
All these months later and I'm still walking into walls, losing my train of thought and tripping over my own feet.

Posted: 1/13/2008 9:58:31 PM | Actually, no they didn't have a crush on me...we talked after running into each other like 25 yrs later, and in talking about old times at school and whatnot, I confessed I had onced crushed on them and they were like, that's cute, shoulda let me known. We could have gone out and seen if we could have been more than pals. Then they went on to tell me who all they'd crushed on, lol....which was fine. So, no...if anyone ever had a crush on me, lol, it wasn't those two guys, they were just school pals.
Actually, yeah, where I come from, it's always been that if one had a crush, their best friend made SURE the crush knew it....but since I never let on, my best friends (both males) never knew. They just saw me as their geeky pal, lol....and when someone would ask 'em who I was crushin on, they'd just say "are you kidding? Prolly the author of some danged book!"  | |

Unfortunately, this person enjoyed using this to his ego-filled advantage and just used it for all it was worth. I do get crushes on people and love the feeling it brings. Crushes are awesome. I've always got a few crushes on the go... they make life more fun. Most are of course completely unattainable - actors, sports figures... but hey, it's fun nonetheless. I've also had forum crushes, and real life crushes, which are also fun. I'm quite happy to enjoy the crush itself... I tend not to pine for it to go anywhere. | |

We giggled whenever we were near each other, the flirting was outrageous, we had a hard time not touching each other. (as in not being able to walk by without reaching out and touching each others arm, shoulder or whatever) People thought we were an item, no matter how much I said no, most did not believe it. The chemistry was amazing. There were reasons that we really couldn't/shouldn't get involved (nothing to do with having other relationships) so we didn't but i sometimes wonder what it would have been like. In the end it was good we never went further because now we are at odds most of the time. (same reason we could not get together) Sometimes we just look at each other and I know he is thinking what I am. It was fun and I have to wonder if it could ever happen again with someone else. Something like that seems like it would be rare. | |
