It exists in the very beginning of getting to know someone online. You see the picture. You like the picture. You like what is said in their ad or profile. You being to talk and we allll show our best qualities when first getting to know someone. You like what you are getting to know, thus the feelings of a crush. Reality comes when meeting someone and finding out if there is still a connection or not. Either way, it's all fun though. :-) The new, exciting feelings are great!!! Enjoy it!

Posted: 1/15/2008 6:14:25 AM | I think most crushes suck for shy, introverted people. At least for me they do. Past crushes in which I could actually overcome my fear and act on them, have ended up with the crushee getting uncomfortable and avoiding me. lol
I have a painful crush on a woman at work, who was very talkative and paid a lot of attention to me in the beginnig is now spending all of her time with the funny,outgoing, class clown of the workplace, who I find myself hoping will have a crush himself with a trash compactor  j/k
Maybe the best thing I like about crushes is the daydreaming of all the scenarios in which she will reciprocate said crush. | |

Posted: 1/15/2008 6:33:05 AM | I had a crush on a girl several weeks ago... but I snapped out of it and got a clue - I'm sad to say... oh well. There are other benefits to being grown-up.
Anyway, I just thinking out loud here, and thinking there should be more POF events where singles could actually gather by choice of venue. Some do not favor gathering at bars. If anyone online is from STL, MO. and would want to help me organize some alternative events, contact me.
ABSOLUTELY I agree... so what we gonna do about it...
There should be regional calendars where people "register their interest" in going out on any given night... then they can participate in a thread which discusses where they might want to meet and at what time.
I'm in favour of groups meeting up and then going to places like live bands or whatever... it's not actually a date as much as hanging out.
Guys can meet up and go hunting in packs ;)
Gals can meet up and giggle in gaggles.

Posted: 1/18/2008 5:32:04 AM | Well, it's quite a coincidence that I posted something about this a few days ago... there has been a small attraction to someone I know @ work for awhile now. The man is married and definitely off limits. They have been married for 20+ years. For the past several weeks both of them have been acting very differently, something is going on in that relationship, don't know what, none of my business. (I don't see them that often, just once in awhile) Anyway, yesterday, the husband flirted with me in a major way. Previously, it has been just small flirtations, but yesterday it was pretty bold. The crush level went up to 90%. HOWEVER, it is going nowhere....he is married, end of story. Just a secret crush of mine.

His body was beautiful, his lips were inviting and his touch would melt me. Just to see his name on my mobile send shivers of passion down my spine.....It took me ten years to feel like a melting candle. Unfortunately he extinguished the wick and reignited it with his ex.

Little crushes liven up my day.
When i was a teenager I used to look for someone to crush on everywhere I went. A crush in every class. A crush on a guy at church. etc. Kept me from getting bored to death. Gave me a focus for my fantasies.
Still works, I have to say!

I work on the same floor with someone that I have a crush on... and when I see him or we talk... I get so nervous and flushed. My heart starts racing and my normal way of being, which is soooo talkative... well that doesn't exist because I don't know what to talk about and I get all shy. And what I do talk about with him... when I think about it later... I think to myself, "man!!! that was random and didn't make sense!" hahaha!
It's weird because I'm normally confident and I'm not shy towards guys at all... regardless of their looks. Just certain guys make me feel like that. I'm thinking I get like that only with guys that I can take serious. Like I "would" allow myself to really like them and would definately consider them for a relationship.
It's a neat feeling to have again as a grown up. But trust me it doesn't feel any different then when I was in High School. | |

Actually, I don't know if this is considered a crush that I've with another POFer. We talked and emailed -- but haven't met in person yet -- since first week of Oct 2007. For the first 8 weeks -- we had NIGHTly hourly talk on the phone before bedtime interspere with short phone talk when he take a break running errand -- away from his tight business chores/conferencing. We both acknowledge love for each other verbally and in emails ... But we still haven't met in person. So is this a crush? | |

It can be an awesome feeling and yet gut sinking at the same time. Hence the word "crush". You fall hard, and then you can be crushed by your crush. Which is what usually happened in my case. lol
I would love to know what it feels like to have a crush on someone that has a crush on me. That butterfly feeling you get in the pit of you stomach, the sound of their voice, the excitement of knowing you will see them, and the thoughts of things you want to do with them. OOPS, sorry, too much info. I think a crush is what leads to hopefully a mutual attraction and then forms into love.
So yes, I have a crush at the present time. Who is he? HAHA, that's part of the fun, not telling.  But.... I will say, he is a beautiful man with a wonderful soul and I get chills down my spine at just the tought of him. Now, do I think he will ever be mine, seriously doubtful. True meaning of crush. | |

i TOTALLY have a crush on a guy at work. i get excited when i know he is going to be there and every second i am around him i feel like i am on cloud 9. i havent met anyone in years that has made me feel this way. the butterflies... the giggles.. the smiles. just seeing him for a few hours puts me in a good mood for days =)
