| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/14/2008 10:35:22 PM | | I have a crush on a guy at my gym; he's the most graceful runner I've ever seen. I have no intentions of pursuing it. I just like looking at him. It makes going to the gym so much nicer. Also, I love that he reads The Economist while he cools down. | |

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/14/2008 11:12:54 PM | I have a crush on a fellow "POFer". I don't think he has the faintest idea! (which is good) :)
Cutey | |

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/15/2008 11:02:29 PM | | There's someone I do business with that I find extremely attractive. He's much older than I am -- I don't usually fall for older guys -- and not magazine cover material, but he's funny, I enjoy talking to him, and ironically we both communicate with our clients and handle our businesses in the same humourously, haphazard way. I feel as if I've met a kindred spirit. I'm not sure, but I think he's taken, so lately I've kept our interactions to a minimum. I've asked all my friends and quite a few of my clients if he's single or not, but nobody seems to know who he is. (Sigh!) | |

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 4:33:50 AM | I have a crush on my dance partner. I have no idea if he knows it or not. He's just coming out of a difficult relationship, so I haven't let him know about my crush, at all. It's fun, and I do get giddy knowing I will see him every week. And getting to dance with him is pretty exciting too. I had a crush on someone here on POF, but he was SO not interested in me, and after a while, my crush just sort of died. | |

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 4:49:28 AM | | I have one now and I thought it was being reciprocated, well it WAS, and it was even started by him but he works for me on a project right now and had told several people cose t the project that he ws getting divorced soon so when I made the moves back that he had been making for two weeks, well I was the one that ended up crushed - and not WITH a crush - so I stay the heck away til the project is finished - its actually my new house that is the project so I have to see him and relive the humiliation of putting a move on him every damn day - and knowing that he will be gone in two weeks and I will never be able to even stay in touch with him (yes men and women CAN be friends even if married) - just kills me | |

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 10:10:02 AM | | I have a crush on a POFer. She's 67 and I'm 43. We met for a walk and a coffee and cake last Sunday. I couldn't take my eyes off her, I had that spark. I got nervous during ther week and said I was unsure about things but by Saturday e-mailed her to ask if we could see each other Sunday. She replied that she had only said the age might be a problem to make me fel better about feeling nervous. She didn't really mean it. Can't wait to see her but will be unlike any other relationships I've had. Most girls I've dated have been 10-17 years older than me but she is a little more. Can't wait to see her. | |

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 10:26:39 AM | I seem to get them constantly and always have. I'll have one on some girl at work, or two, and perhaps at the gym, and maybe a half a dozen or more girls I run into out dancing and such.
In fact, I went for a period of a few months there last year where that went away but its back and I'm happy about it... very.
As others have said, it's exciting and enjoyable. When I was very young, pre-teens, I didn't always handle them well. They can make you do silly things. But since then I've just gone with the feeling and enjoyed having it for what it was whether something came of a relationship or not.

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 10:35:47 AM | | I have not had a crush on someone in years. Now I do and really don't know what to do. And yes he is on POF. He just makes me melt!!!!!!! | |
|
| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 10:41:22 AM | I do... here on POF. A couple actually but they have no clue... yet. LOL
I think I will keep my crushes to myself - I rather like the feeling and dont really want to have my bubble burst just yet

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 10:54:10 AM | I was really deliciously surprised recently when I developed a "crush" - complete with all the knee-weakening, butterflies-in-the tummy, walking-into-lampposts-and-parking-meters, putting-the-sugar-in-the-fridge feelings - on someone here. I mean VERY surprised!
As a very down-to-earth kinda lady, I am not given to crushes. As a matter of fact, the last one I had was on my 6th grade teacher! But there was something about the look in his eyes in his picture that drew me like a magnet. And now, each time I hear his voice on the phone, molten lava pours through my veins...
I think people NEED to have crushes - those magical feelings that make life meaningful and have nothing whatsoever to do with common sense or reality-based thinking. We all spend too much time worrying about whether or not something is going to pay off instead of just valuing what we have, for what it is, for whatever length of time we can have it.
Thank God for crushes... They are truly the spice of life!

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 11:01:36 AM | | crushes, puppy love, infatuation all become stepping stones to mature love. I haven't had a "crush" on anyone since my 30's, but I have been attracted a couple of times. | |
|
| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 11:22:31 AM | Maybe "lust" would be a more appropriate word to use instead of "crush"????
It seems to me that the word "crush" connotes youth while "lust" stimulates much more of a mature feeling within......but, what do I know as a senile older man hoping to find a "crush" and "lust" in all the right/wrong places.....
Just my opinion...... | |

I dunno C Deacon... If crushes were about age, we'd quit having them. "Lust" to me is purely sexual desire that is only fulfilled by making love whereas "crush" includes sexual desire but can also be fulfilled (to some extent) by the sound of someone's voice, the sight of them or the thought of them....
I hope that senility clears up for you...

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 12:14:09 PM | I forgot what was to clear up now???.......
OT.......I am glad that we can debate and banter the thought process, and I do appreciate your side of the discussion, and with saying that.......I enjoy hearing my Mother's voice, and enjoy seeing her even more, as I do with my brothers and sisters, as well as I do many other family members and some friends too, but I neither have a "crush" or "lust" for any of them.........
I do believe that the words "crush" and "lust" could be considered one and the same depending on where you are in your life, how you feel, your age and what your intent is......
I have not had a crush on anyone since my teens, but trust me......I have had lusting in my heart and other parts of my body for many over the years........ Maybe the difference is that when young, one stood off in the distance with that crush and when more mature, will try to make that feeling a reality......
Just my opinion..... | |

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 1:35:57 PM | I recall 2 different crushes in my life. Truth is I still recall how if felt. In fact to this day I in a way wish I could meet those two once more. But if I did, I might lose that feeling I had gotten so many years ago as a young teen.
I enjoy now being able to reflect on the joys those emotions had caused. Often we don't look back and when we do sometimes we regret not taking action due to our youth. I never regret anything though. Instead I reflect and smile knowing that it was a good feeling. The moments they'd look into your eyes and your entire insides would quiver, your tonge would get tied and you'd forget the simplist of things. Heck I went 2 weeks trying to remember to ask one young lady her name. Saw her every day and even spoke some, not so sure what I said I was so nervous, but it was exciting because she spoke back to me. Then she'd leave and my friends would ask who is that, whats her name..... I'd give a sigh and go, "I forgot to ask again."
That was way back some 28 years ago. I sometimes wish it would happen to me again. If you reflect you'll realize it was such an interesting feeling. So I think growing older does take a little something away from us. The innosence becomes lost.

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/16/2008 6:24:01 PM | | I had one on a guy I dated last year. It was amazing. I haven't felt like that in years..it was great to feel like a teenager again. It didn't work out, but when I think of him, I still get the flutters. | |

| Have you a crush on anyone? Posted: 2/17/2008 3:10:31 PM | | Well, my crush just crushed me. My friends all said to take it slow, because he had just broken up with someone. Well, now he's dating someone else. I guess I'm good enough to be a dance partner, but not to date. Story of my life. Don't want to have a pity party or anything, but I sure am getting discouraged!! | |
