| Where do you hang out? Posted: 2/12/2008 7:25:03 PM | I hang out on the seawall in West Van... the book store Lynn Valley....I sit in my van up at Cypress Bowl Lookout with the cd player blaring... in the summer I spend a lot of time at the beach with the kids... I hang out at Ambleside or Jericho .....long leisurely afternoons to relax...read a bit...and feel the warmth of the sun on my skin.
I am so not a shopper or a consumer.... one weakness....I can't do the hardware store ... they see me coming and they roll out a cart for me. I must resist.

| Where do you hang out? Posted: 2/12/2008 8:00:03 PM | I have been doing this for years... old cemetery. Old cemeteries give me a feeling of awe and respect for history, even more than architecture or old churches . I get really grounded in the respect that I am standing among stories and people whose lives meant as much to them as mine means to me... Its so peaceful and solitary...
(ok, ok Iam weird, but almost sure that Iam not only the one...

[I sit in my van up at Cypress Bowl Lookout with the cd player blaring... /quote] Me and the last train wreck would sit up there in my truck and wait for the fog, day or night. When it would roll in we go at it like rabbits! She had this thing about getting caught in public. And that's one of the normal ones!

| Where do you hang out? Posted: 2/22/2008 8:08:43 PM | | Maybe I haven't been single long enough (going on a year sort of) but I don't really hang out anywhere alone. I usually have a friend with me. Most of the time that friend is male. Hmm... maybe I do need to go do stuff alone sometime, I might be scaring off the guys by hanving a man with me. | |

If I see a woman in the company of a man it is a reasonable assumption that the two are a pair. Yes, I know assumptions make asses. I think most fellows would spare themselves the embarrassment of looking foolish of flirting with a woman accompanied by a man. Some men tend to get rather possessive and jealous of their gals and resent another guy paying attention to them.
If she is with another woman there are other possible explanations but the risk of a nasty confrontation is markedly lower.
So yes, you might want to swim solo, or at least change the gender of your companions on social outings. If you do go with male companion perhaps you can find a way to make it more obvious you aren't a pair.
Tight lines!

And if you like dogs you can go to the one of the many Dog Parks with your dog or by yourself. (Dogs are handy for that. They will help you find friends. That's what friends do for friends) You are not the only one who is bored being alone.

| Where do you hang out? Posted: 8/20/2008 10:54:20 PM | It really doesn't seem to matter where you hang out these days..being a single woman, I find most men will not approach me anyway out of concern there is some guy back at the homestead waiting for me...its just the way it is!
So this year I have decided to take a different path in my life. No more supermarket hopefuls for this gal..lol...I am taking fall and winter dance classes at our local rec center and I am getting up and out of this house in the evening. Also considering some other classes to occupy my spare time...lol..if indeed I will have any left...
Best to hang out doing the things you like, rather than trying to do the things you think will find you that special someone...it only works that way in the movies...

| Where do you hang out? Posted: 8/21/2008 5:53:22 PM | Go for a drive out away from people and traffic. Lynn Canyon is a good spot or sit on a log down by the river here in Richmond. It's magic finding your own little corner in this world where you can think, meditate, relax, unwind without constant interuptions. Not many places left like that in the lower mainland. | |

Way to go CC! I suspect this will lead to some great new friends and maybe even the special guy you deserve.
Ummm.... I remember an admission some time ago you don't wear high heel shoes. Hope you don't wear the work boots to dance class.
Just teasing friend. Seriously I wish you the best of luck, on and off the dance floor.
Me, well other than one exception I don't really hang out much anywhere. That might explain my dismal social life. Perhaps I should take dance lessons too.
The exception is Coffee Club. Several buddies meet at coffee shop, play a "hi-lo" game to see who is going to buy coffee for his friends. We've moved to Breakwater Books, a bookstore/coffee shop and I was surprised how many women buy books.
Maybe they are just lurking, you know, hanging around, hoping for some fellow to offer to buy them coffee or talk about the "Handyman and Home Repairs" book she bought?
