So far I've seen a lot of places to go to buy stuff, but really no place I'd really go to hang out. So far I miss my Fry's Electronics and my local airsoft store from the States and haven't really found much in the way of alteratives so far. It seems like the Grouse Grind is the most popular activity for most people here, judging by how much I hear about it. That or lighting up lol. Anything else? | |

I guess I'm glad I never learned have to play poker or I'd be giving them more money but it's fun.

I parked my piece of $hit car. Hopped out to go into my apt building and saw a guy hanging out by our Apt dumpster. He asked me if I had a spare cig. I didn't have one for him but thought......huh!......maybe he knows something I don't. Maybe I've been waiting all this time on POF when...hey? The real dating site could be right where my dumpster is!

Now I have the strangest urge to keep my eye out for dumpsters whilst in town. There must be at least 3!! lol
My 'token' post .. Mostly to say "HEY!" to my friends waaaaaaaaaaaaay out thar in BC land.. was a time I could hang out here with y'all .. sigh .. oh well, maybe I just need another toke..

Posted: 9/6/2008 11:11:36 PM | Well, I just came back from Urban Fare (not my normal grocery store, but it's fun once in a while for treats. I was looking for a particular brand of ginger beer). There's always that idea of meeting someone at the grocery store, but I have yet to start a conversation with a stranger about my groceries (aside from asking someone tall to reach something on a high shelf for me). I think they should have a singles night, hee hee. I hear that Wednesday is singles night for the Grouse Grind.
I like parks too (lots of different ones). I also spend a lot of time going around the seawall (biking or walking), and I like wandering Granville Island (again, getting groceries). I often go into the HMV on Robson. I like Japanese style pubs (izakayas) to eat. I tend to go to Book Warehouse to look for books. I'll drink at a bar at English Bay with a buddy, but actually the reason we go there is because no one really bothers you there. But all the other places I go alone and would probably be up for being approached by a cute guy. I go to coffeeshops too. I like the Yale. There's apparently a blues place on Main St. I should check out one of these days. | |

Posted: 9/7/2008 12:40:21 AM | | I do walk my dogs alot in the parks in my community which will tolerate them,aside from that I hang out at the ladys club I joined (yoga/ dance classes) I also use the recreational facilitys here in Nanaimo a lot( swimming/gym) Im not a bar fly sort of person I have a natural aversion to crowds,preffering to freqeunt places which cater to smaller more intimate groups where conversation is actually an option. I have heard of a cool sounding place here in Nanaimo The mermaids mug ( they have a web page) Im going to make it in there one of these days......... | |
