But if you are looking for a similar line of faith, your original post sounded exactly like you might like studying the Bahai faith. (I'm not a member, but there is a beautiful temple in Chicago that I want to see eventually.)

Good one! A friend recommended this to me recently... certainly I will look into it.
Thanks for the reminder.

Well you know if you look at the book of Acts in the New Testament, a couple of things are pointed out which really strike me as being at complete odds with modern religion.

first there is talk of the UNKNOWN God, and that means for me, that the world back then did not know the higher truths otherwise it would have been known.

second, there is mention of attempts to REASON with those who actually believed!!!! And when reason failed (Acts 19) utterly, there were no more attempts!

I could go on and on about the confusion which seems rampant in todays religions, but I dont have time right now. Sorry!

How can you beleive in anything like that with no evidence to support it. Do you beleive in anything about your daily life with no evidence. Yet you beleive this.
IS There a God?
There can be no answer to that question. Anybody who states that there is or isn't, is just not thinking deeply enough. To know that a God exists, would also imply that you know Gods will, etherway, You have to be a God to know a God exists. The question is meaningless and should only be used for speculative fun. If there is a God surely It would be wise enough to know, that it is imposible for any human to beleive in one. So I think going to hell if I dont beleive in God is out of the question. Infact A God would probably make you go to his heaven for not beleiveing in him because it is the wiser choice given our human abilities.

I have a thoery about our reality too. But I don't beleive it because I can never Have proof. I just talk about it for fun.
The thoery is this.
Life is like an advanced video game. Super beings decide to play. To play you have to be born a baby in a random location and make it to the oldest age with the most major achievements. When you start this game you will have no knowledge of who you are. The only knowledge you get is gained from how you grow up and your genetic bonuses.
Video games are getting more and more advanced, soon we will have virtual reality video games, and then whats above that, total virtual reality where you can;t tell the difernece between reality and virtual reality. This Scenario is possible in our future, and this leads to further proof that it is imposible to know your reality and if there is a God.

Lots of books that support your idea. The first ones I read many years ago are these:

"Chariots of the Gods" and "The Gods were Astronauts." Both by von Daniken. I have others in my home library by other writers.

Even the Bible says there are other spiritual beings. "And the Lord said,'The man has now become like one of us... (NIV 3:22).'" There are angels and so forth. Regardless of what you call them, they may be guardians in a way.

No, your hypothesis has merit. A lot of merit!

One mystic religious branch suggests this that originally there was nothing. Then that which was undefinable created an identifiable spiritual image and a family of others to be with it. For want of a better name they called it God. God, however, had a creator. And the kabbalists call that creator Ein Sof which means an entity beyond human understanding. This God evolved over time and many universes were created.

And from other texts, these multi universes have beings of their own. And each of us has our counter part in one or a few of them. If the strings of our being are being pulled in a counter part universe, those strings may be in the hands of higher level beings.

Yep, your idea has merit and similar ideas have been thought through out the ages.

I love those books, regardless of what the sceptics have deduced of them, they still hold many theories to me have stood the test of time.
