Because if they are attractive they will be inundated with mail from dudes who are 15 to 50 with everything from pics of his chevy to his Johnson. Alot of women prefer to lurk and send a pic with their initial email. Some women don't need to be rated, they know they cut it offline. They don't want the attention. They don't need it. | |

I also have no problem in initially chatting with a guy who has made the same choice regarding photo postings. At the same time, physical attraction is an important component of any potential romantic connection, and thus, photos need to be swapped relatively early in the communication. | |

she kept saying in her messages that if i wanted she would send me a picture to my mobile phone, we kept chatting on here but i never really responded to her wanting to show me a picture of herself.
to be honest as we were only really chatting it didnt really matter to me if i seen what she looked like.
one evening i phoned her and she mentioned that she thought she didnt look nice.
it still wasnt really an issue, anyway in the end she sent me a picture of her self and i thought she looked really nice.
what was her problem.............
a lot of women dont post pictures for the same reason and of course for a lot of others too.
if some one doesnt feel comfortable then they shouldnt do it under pressure but i think a lot of women would be surprised at how many guys would message them if they had a picture up. | |

Do yourself a huge favor. Don't bother. When they say "prefer not to say" in the "do you do drugs?" box, IT MEANS THAT THEY DO DRUGS!!!
Same idea with not posting a picture. I have a couple of not-that-great pics, but at least I have something! If you have something to hide, then you obviously shouldn't be taken seriously.  | |

Most people still want that typical dont fall for my looks first fall for my personality hole fairytale. Its a fact attraction starts with looks no matter how shallow it may sound. | |

EXACTLY!! I had a guy (maybe the same one???? lol) do the same to me and I promply got rid of my pics. Really creeps me out that someone else can save MY pics to THEIR computer to do whatever they want with them. When I do contact someone, I always say I'd be glad to send a pic through private email.... once there has been some contact and I can get to know the person a wee bit. | |

my point is that the majority of males would react so very differently in the same situation if it were a woman stating to a man what she was doing with " his " pictures.

Compared to the wham bam thank you ma'am types...who won't consider taking the time to talk to you unless you have a pic b/ they have no interest in investing the time unless you were reasonably attractive aka doable as that is all they're pretty much after. So it screens out a good 70-80% of the men on here. Quite an efficient process/system IMO. | |

I am not here to hook up. I'm here for the forums-to discuss and debate the goings on of today. I'm in a happily exclusive and committed relationship. I adore my man, and I am not looking for anything else from anyone else. Why post my picture and give someone else false hope when they see me in a search? I want my intentions to be clear, and not putting up a picture makes me that more conspicuous.
As for someone getting mad when you ask them for a photo, well, I cannot answer that. Obviously, everyone else has given some excellent reasons. Perhaps they are shy about how they look, or perhaps they are simply unable to post pictures due to employment issues. You're really best discussing that with the person involved. | |

I will agree - I do not want someone drawn to me based totally on a picture. This is why you email, chat, talk, meet them - to find that out. I had one woman wanted to meet me 'cause I 'had gorgeous blue eyes'. As flattered as I was - that isn't the grounds for a relationship.
However, don't you feel there needs to be 'an attraction'??? What about for you??? Don't you like to see the person?

2) They might want a guy to be interested in THEM and not just what they look like.
3) They might be hiding from stalkers.
4) They might be in a job where they're not allowed to post their picture on a public site.
5) They might be tired of all the losers just commenting on their looks.
6) They might be fed up with the IE offers.
7) They're not really women. LOL!
lol! That was a good reply. You really hit on what I would consider the more common real reasons the pictures are not there. As far as number 7 however, I would think that a fake photo would be posted in that situation rather than no photo. | |
