| Georgia Motorcycle Enthusiasts Ride For Fun Posted: 3/18/2008 9:10:31 AM | OK! big Notice this time!!! I am hoping the weather cooperates.. There is a big 50cc rally in Suches on Saturday March 29th, it starts at 11:00 am and I would like to be there at the start and then backtrack around the "LOOP" to a good Spectating spot for taking pictures somewhere along the course.. theres a new meeting place just north of Dahlonega called Riders Hill (google it), We could meet there at 10 am and then mosy up to Suches about 20 minutes farther up 19/60, theres also a Venture riders website ride and a Buell rally going on the same day in the area.. Lots going on in the area so the pace will be slow due to all the traffic..
Another good place to meet is at the End of 400 at the shell station on the right, say 9am? anybody interested?
Also if anyone has a 5occ bike they'd like to donate for me to fix and ride in the rally, We could field a POF entry for this rally, Now that would be a hoot!.. check it out on the Web

| Georgia Motorcycle Enthusiasts Ride For Fun Posted: 3/30/2008 8:06:07 PM | | The weather didnt cooperate, but I rode anyway. Had a great time watching the fiddys and taking pictures, the ride home was long and wet(all day), I dont think theres enough riders on here to organize any kind of meet-n-ride but I will keep it in mind next time I have a planned event, the next 50cc rally is at deals gap memorial day weekend. I may have an entry by then.. come out and join the fun! | |

The twice a month ride sounds good and the weather is getting right for it. I ride year round, except for rain. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

| Georgia Motorcycle Enthusiasts Ride For Fun Posted: 4/5/2008 1:42:02 AM | G'day guys....was just reading your thread and it's similar to what we are doing here in Australia.
We had a ride about 6 weeks ago, and our next one is tomorrow. There's about 100 PoF people who have put their name down. Check it out here

The bike ride seems to be a great day out and there is too many women wanting to go riding for the number of single guys with a spare seat.
A mate and I are trying to organise a ride around your way, or up the Blueridge Parkway through Virginia...or both...lol
I drove from Dahlonega, up through Elijay to Dalton last year and would love to do it on a bike.
Anyway, wish us Aussies some god weather for tomorrow...With 100 people going and all sorts of riding skills involved, we want a good safe day.
If you can get yours kickstarted you'll have a great time no doubt as well.

| Georgia Motorcycle Enthusiasts Ride For Fun Posted: 4/5/2008 7:08:07 AM | Wow, I checked it out. You have many participants and yes, the women out number the men.
Sending wishes to all you Aussies for great weather, a safe ride, and lots of fun for tomorrow.
Georgia needs to make an event out of their rides. More people will know about them and more may come. JMO

| Georgia Motorcycle Enthusiasts Ride For Fun Posted: 4/5/2008 4:24:56 PM | How to organize a ride on POF
Post up a date when you want to ride, include a time, meeting place and a itinerary of stops and activities along the way, read a lot of posts about how great this sounds then sit back and wait to be disappointed when noone shows up ... Just kidding.. I am riding up to the cherahola skyway tommorow with some sportbike enthusiasts from a local Sportbike forum, I suggest finding an online community for bikers who ride your type of bike and go from there, there is not much support from this community since most are seeking a different type of ride anyway, plus I dont want to be responsible for scraping anyone off the road, or waiting at every turn all day.. Happy riding folks!

| Georgia Motorcycle Enthusiasts Ride For Fun Posted: 4/6/2008 4:10:26 AM | Well guys, the Brisbane bike ride was great. The weather was overcast with small scattered showers, but mosty dry riding.
Stopped at a pub in the mountains for lunch, then stopped again in the afternoon at another pub where there was a guy playing guitar and doing old classics....a couple of beers and we al headed home.
I wish you all the best getting one happening over there. It would be an awesome ride from the end of the 400 up through the mountains.

| Georgia Motorcycle Enthusiasts Ride For Fun Posted: 4/7/2008 12:03:55 AM | Meet at the Waffle house at the end of 400 at Noon, theres a park-n-ride lot there too, good roads and a few good restaurants in the area too,its a nice ride over to Helen, girls love that and theres beer available for those who aint skeered to knock back a couple and ride back, they have a great patio bands at a few places in Helen on Sundays.. April 20th or anyday sounds good to me, I can scare up a girl to ride with me, you others are on your own, if you want someone can make it official and post it up in the meet and greet section on POF, but it wont be me.. Will definitely get more exposure that way since it's sticky'ed at the top of all the pages and profiles that way.. Step Up!
Them dudes down under got it goin on! I rode 350 miles today, 150 of them were at a "very" brisk pace.. had a Blast with the BSB'ers!

| Georgia Motorcycle Enthusiasts Ride For Fun Posted: 4/8/2008 2:42:27 PM | What time is the thing at the Vortex? Could a time and place be set there for a ride in the following weekend. I ride a cruiser and ride almost everyday. Rode up through Ellijay and BlueRidge this past Sunday for the turnovers and a drink. This ride to Helen on April 20th sounds good but what time and at what place does everyone meet? This is Tuesday the 8th, a time to meet at the Vortex would be nice too. Then as you said the type of bikes and how people would want to ride could maybe be worked out. I have no problem with a few beers and riding as long as all riders are careful, I am. | |

| Georgia Motorcycle Enthusiasts Ride For Fun Posted: 4/8/2008 10:50:22 PM | Bike night starts when you get there... for me typically 7-730 pm. All kinds of bikes but predominantly sportbikes and adventure types..in good weather you can expect 200-300 bikes to be there, If you read back I suggested the Waffle house at the end of 400 at Noon,on any given weekend in good weather just ride to Suches and stop at Dale's Chevron or the T.W.O. resort across the street, then do the loop(60/180/129/19) and/or ride to Helen for Lunch then back home, thats enough for most hardcore enthusiasts, I rode 350 miles last Sunday doing the loop and richard russel scenic parkway to helen, 75 to 180 back to suches and back home.. Good luck finding a female who is willing to ride that far, if you do she probably has her own bike and doesnt need yours | |
