| winter blahs, weight, any success stories? Posted: 1/24/2008 4:10:51 PM | I've lost a fair amount of weight logging everything I eat. By doing this, I know exactly what foods stall weight loss. I use an online site that tracks calories, fat etc.
I found weight loss requires a real commitment in the beginning to change old habits but once you've reached your first goal, you'll find it become a way of life.
My goals are clothes, I buy something I really like a size smaller, then keep trying it on till it fits, the scale is not my friend.
I consider the gym an investment in future so I can rationalize the expense, also it has become a family affair since my teenage sons now join me, it's pretty cool and the trolls (hairy guys who are always trying to pick up women at the gym) leave me alone..since my sons give the evil eye lol.

| winter blahs, weight, any success stories? Posted: 1/24/2008 6:31:08 PM | Lack of excerisce makes me gain weight like crazy!!! I feel like I have NO metabolism, and can't lose weight AT ALL -- or even keep it off, if I am inactive.
I have more than 1 cardio machine (like to mix it up!) which I can fold up and hide away. I watch movies on TV in my room while I excercise. If the show is good, I won't even notice the long time on the machine.
I have a little trouble with SADS, myself. And even more with sluggishness and excessive hunger when the temps are below freezing. I use GE Resolve full-spectrum lighting == which is an incandescent bulb -- in my house.
I work out during the times of the day when I feel the LEAST like it. By the time I am done I feel energized -- and the endorphins from the exercise cheer me up!
On the week ends, if the weather is sunny, I get out in the sunshine, and take a walk if possible. Sunlight will really make you feel good. | |
