| What makes you message someone on here?
Posted: 2/2/2008 3:53:03 PM | I've only been part of this site for a couple of days. I haven't messaged anyone first, perhaps fear of rejection, but I suppose that's my problem not theirs. I'm getting braver, I have answered all who have messaged me so far, rude not to.
I prefer to see a photo, but looks are not important to me, I'm no oil painting myself, so if I'm brave enough to have photos, then I think everyone should. It's no big deal.
Usually the profile for me would have to be something that catches my attention, a little thought going into it helps. I've had to edit mine a few times, as I was very shy at first and only put in a few words, maybe that's the case with anyone new. | |

i very rarely message any one.
i used to send out quite a few thoughtfull , humourous , serious or a combo of all 3 things in my messages but rarely got any responses so i just thought it was a waste of time and effort writing them.
seeing as very few women it seems make first contact i quite often have a very empty inbox.
from what i have seen very little appeals to me , so not much really makes me want to message any one. | |

I think you can't base a possible friendship/relationship based on looks alone and if you can't read someone's profile you're out for one thing!!! I reply to guys that are witty and a bit different from the norm but that's just me. Those guys hold my interest! | |

Posted: 2/3/2008 2:21:43 AM | I have only messaged a handful of people first and thats mostly been forum users who i think are funny and seem nice to talk to.
The only other time i have messaged someone is twice when i have seen their pic go across the topof the screen and i know them..once was ok it was great to be back in touch but the other was totally freaked out due to him being engaged to someone we went to school with lol.

ive only messaged a few poeple and not really heard much back, but it does make you smile when you recieve a message after a slog of a day at work, or during a wuiet evening | |

1 They are in my age range 50 - 59.
2 They like some of the things that I like.
3 They like scuba diving, not found any yet.
4 They are in my height range, I'm only a short thing at 5'7".
5 They live within the mileage area, I'm in Sheffield.
Things that do put me off are no pictures and ladies who can not be bothered to say anything about themselves, i.e just a couple of lines.
