It really seemed almost unreal how in a span of about 4 minutes the lead changed twice the way it did and in the magnitude that it did especially with the Giants gaining the lead in under 2 minutes left. It's moments like that that are historic in football and really any sport, and I had to admit I was happy with how things ended. | |

Who would have thought that Brady could be stopped. Not many I am sure. Well except me and a few. Maybe it was a great game to me for 4 quarters because I watched every damn thing except the commercials. That's when I did the refill thing. Oh yes I agree with the rag doll thing. My sentiments exactly. But i happen to enjoy watching good defences go to work, and that Giants defence was real good on Sunday. Once they finally started doubling up coverage on Welker, they nullified Brady's only real good threat. They seemed to have shut the running game down real early. So by the time Welker was starting to be double covered, Brady was just getting too rushed to see downfield fast enough even if there was guys open. And even as good as that defence was in the first half, they just got stronger and stronger as the game wore on. They did a job and a half keeping that Pats team to 14 points..
You could see that Brady just isn't used to being harassed like that. It was like foreign territory to him. He looked almost like the deer in the headlights. About as mobile as marino used to look back there. I doubt that ankle had much to do with it. He just didn't look like he knew which way to go with all that pressure. He'll have to work on that for the years when his O-line doesn't hold up as well as it did this season for him. Dallas did a better job of all the playoff teams the Giants faced in slowing down the pass rush from the Giants D.
I thought it was a great game to watch start to finish with the exception of the total deluge of commercials. I mean how bogus is that to let a head coach sit and chat with the refs for 3 or 4 minutes on a commercial break about how a call will be interpreted before finally deciding on throwing a challenge flag out onto the field...(12 men on the field on the Pats punting play ~ fairly critical play at the time), which meant another 5 minutes of commercials. I dunno. Maybe the NFL needs a good game turning play like that one could have been to slow up all these commercials a bit. That was my only complaint with the game. Plus I couldn't believe Pats didn't go for a 49 yarder on 4th and 13. That one was an oddity for sure.
Whoever took that bank loan out to put it down on the Giants picked up a ton of dough. Huge.
That one should go down as a classic in the history of SuperBowl games. Good football game. No complaints here on the excitement scale. It was a very hard fought contest on both sides.

You need to go back and read my statement because you never said "deal". Maybe at the time you felt quite hesitate because even you had a little doubt at the time. I had it setup for you almost like a contract agreement with tons of witnessess, but you did not fully execute the agreement. All you had to say was "deal" and you would have had your picture.
Go to New England Patriots 2007/08 thread and start at post 589. Remember the word was "deal" not anything else.
I am a man of my word, but you never followed through. Maybe we can talk about next year.....  | |
