I'm guessing n0t, since none of the homeless in his city do.

I was completely flabberghasted when I saw on CNN about his death. 10 Things I Hate About You made me a fan of him. RIP bro. I bought the DVD. Watched it about 10 times.
Sadly, this sort of thing seems to be all too common amongst very talented post-60s young stars in the limelight.

Foxy: The thread I started was put up about 4 days before the other one. Well that thread was put up on Wednesday, so unless you put the thread up on Sunday, before Heath Ledger passed away i don't think that is possible somehow

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 1/25/2008 2:34:57 PM | He was a fine actor…I loved the accent. I am a fan of so-called chick flicks, which 10 Things I Hate About You was considered one of. Some people are uncomfortable viewing a movie such as Broke Back Mountain but I consider it just another role and he took it on with grace and feeling. I have to say that ever since I heard the sad news, I have been terribly disturbed by all the rumors swirling around about his death and the circumstances surrounding it. Nobody who is guessing and speculating actually knows what happened or what state he was in (emotionally or physically), and it is really sickening that people seem to be jumping to the most negative conclusions. The fact is is that he was a bright and talented young guy with a family and a precious little daughter and he doesn’t deserve to be talked about like this. The media, for example, has gone too far. Of course I didn’t know him, but that doesn’t stop me from being utterly horrified by this. BTW, this is my very first post on the forums and I think this is a good one to start with…something I feel strongly about. | |

Anyway...these people are sick. They just can't let the family and friend's mourn. They have to cause problems and make this time harder for them than it already is. Free speech is great and all, but this is one of those things that makes you wonder...is free speech ALWAYS worth it?

[I agree with you that he was a very sensitive person. He was very loving and giving. He worked very hard and put a lot of pressure on himself. I am sure he was devastated when the relationship went south. He is a special person. He spoke about dying before, and he didn't seem to fear it so much, not that he was seeking to embrace it.

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 1/25/2008 9:23:04 PM | | It was a great tragedy to hear the news of the death of a young and talented actor, but also tragic that he leaves behind a beautiful young child, to whom she will never grow up knowing her father, and all of his friends and family. Events like these are important because they serve as a reminder to us that not only does life pass by quickly but more truly that life is precious. Understanding and learning from others experiences may remind us how important it is to live an honest and good life, rather then worrying about if we will live a long life. I am a bit surprised how some people have responded on here, feeling they don't care. It is unfortunate because we should all care about something so tragic as this. Heath truly was a genuine person and a well liked individual by his peers, coworkers, friends and family. He was adored by many fans including his greatest fan, Matilda, his daughter. His performances on screen touched the lives of many and will continue to do so. Remembering people who have tragically left us through their good works, is the best way to honor them. We should all pray for Heath, for his family and all others affected by this tragedy. | |

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 1/27/2008 9:16:29 AM | | Don't you think it is kind of sad, that we as a society care more about some Hollywood stars then real people. I mean a year ago it was 24/7 of Anna Nicole, I have to ask what positive thing did this woman do, you would have thought she discovered a cure for Aids, come on. She was a woman that slept with an old man for his money, she never did anything positive for the world, and Brittany Spears, Lindsey Lohan, now Heath Ledger I mean besides making a few good movies tell me what has he actually done for the world ? I don't see young US military men and women getting the same treatment, or teachers, or doctors, yet we sit here and bestow kudo's to the druggies and drunks of Hollywood, no wonder our society is lost. | |

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 1/27/2008 11:19:09 AM | Heath and "A Knight's Tale," have a special place in my heart.
My children and I were at the BX at Fairchild AFB. A Knight's tale was on one of the really nice big screen tvs. One of the employees, who knew me pretty well, asked if I wanted him to start it over for me. Of course I said; "nnnnnn sure!"
I sat on one Lazy Boy, my daughter sat on my lap and my son sat in the other. We watched the entire movie. It is still the only move I have ever watched to completion at a store. My daughter, 17, was crushed when I told her. She remembers that day as fondly as I do.
Right now I don't wish I could "Change my stars," I wish I could change his. He was a great actor and a good person from everything I've ever heard about him. I will miss him as a talent and as a good person.

Posted: 1/27/2008 8:54:24 PM | | Not everybody is a movie star, if we were we would all be glorified when we died..These people have talent, they are artists it takes alot of work to be an actor..You'ld think it would be easy to make all that money but it's really hard work and HollyWood is a game of chance..You gotta be smart to make it..Anna Nicole was a genius...She invented and marketed herself into history.I once watched Andy Garcia do one part over and over again it took 9 hours of over and over again to get the part right, it was one of the wildest experiences I have ever had, watching that man work..I couldn't do that work...I haven't laughed good and hard for years till I saw the look on Michelle Williams, face in Brokeback mountain when she saw her old man lip locking with another cowboy, all the years I've been depressed for a brief moment Heath Ledger made me laugh. And that's a good thing..I'm sure he did alot of good things...I don't spend my life worshipping these people though I was starstruck when I first moved to Santa Barbara In this town walking past famous people downtown, by the beach, in a store is a regular thing..When I heard that Heath Ledger died I was shocked because Brad Renfro just died and there was an article the day before in our local paper of Brittney Spears inpending doom which was in very poor taste, it's very tragic these beautiful young people dying as it was years ago in the late 60's early 70's like history repeating itself back then I wore one of those MIA Bracelets, today I read articles of our young people dying in Iraq in the L.A. Times and I cry, some of them I clip out and hang on the fridge because I admired the soldier I couldn't do that work...These are hero's..History repeating itself.

I thought it was strange I made this thread which supposedly by then revealed the true toxicology report of her death and no one responded. Is it because of the time or what?

But also you have to realize talking about a celeb is more well known than Jim Bob down the street. Everyone instantly knows who they are talking about. That's a big reason. It's as easy and common as talking about the weather.
A knight's tale was a very good story but beyond that I wouldn't know a peep about him.

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 1/29/2008 8:47:29 AM | HEATH LEDGER'S DEATH AND WHY IT'S SO DEEPLY PERSONAL TO ME!
This loss of Heath Ledger is not only untimely but SO unecessary! I was so saddened at first because I've seen all his films and regarded him with so much respect because he took such daring roles and was wonderful at them! Makin' it as an actor is hard enough but to make it as he did and be from another country too? Very impressive.
But I became infuriated after I learned what 'prescription' drugs (if this is true) were found. You see, I'm VERY familar with the types of medications that Heath was taking for insomnia, stress and anxiety. That had 'phychaitrist'' written all over it!
These types of doctors don't care about anyone, famous or otherwise. They care about the large amounts of money they make from seeing someone for at best, 6 minutes at a time.
I too, fell victim to this. I had the exact same symptoms as Heath supposedly had and yes, took Xanax, Activan and Valium because this "doctor" told me I needed to and that it would help. I've never drank in my life, nor have I ever done illicit drugs. However, I trusted this "doctor" and took the meds he prescribed and after my few minutes were up, that was 175.00, thank you very much.
But what I was NOT told and I'm sure it's true in Heath's case, is that I was NEVER told of the dangers of any of these meds. I was never warned of drug interactions and that if mixed, your heart can stop. I was never told that I could have a SEIZURE if I stopped them abruptly. No phychiatrist said a WORD except "here this will help. Take them 4-6x a day"
I had 4 grand maul seizures in 3 years trying to get off this stuff and was still told "But its what you need to help with your anxiety and insomnia" These **stards could've 'killed' me. I was just a patient and did not know better. After all, I wasn't the one with the medical degree , right?
Of course, when you're scared to death you start to research as much as possible. I was afraid I was going to die having yet another seizure right on my living room floor.
So you bet, I did research. Pages of it. I was so scared for my life!
I'm pretty sure that Heath , if he was taking meds for the afflictions mentioned, that he too was never told anything different than I was and had no reason to think that he could be in danger.
This infuriates me. I may not be rich or famous but I'm lucky; I'm still here.
Phychiatrists such as these are what I dub as 'legalized dope dealers' because that's exactly what they are.
And from Janis Joplin, to Elvis to Anna Nicole and now Heath Ledger..the list has been getting longer every year and the more money you have, sometimes the worse the doctor.
I'm not in any way making this all about me; nor am I giving any merit to tabloid fodder.
But when I learned of Heath Ledger's death at 28, I was and am still outraged. NOBODY means to 'over-dose', for crying out loud! Nobody.
So I wanted to share this as painful and as 'close to home' for me as it was so that people who mourn his passing will be WARNED
(No I'm not into Scientology and Tom Cruise is nuts)
That's not what this is about. It's about the same medications I not only took myself, but about how over-prescibed they are. The Xanax, the Valium..all that stuff. It's so overly prescribed it's SHOCKING.
And people are dying.
Sure, when my best friend who was a member of the SWAT tactical unit was killed, he did not make national news either. But because Heath was a public figure, hopefully his death will shed some light on an uneducated public who are unaware of the dangers of these types of medications. And in NO way do I believe that he commited suicide. That's bullshit. He simply took too much and his heart stopped.
I'm just a girl. A fan of Heath Ledger's work. And someone who used to take the same medications. I'm not a drug counselor or anything of the sort. I am simply a survivor.
But I did feel the need to tell my story because I greatly relate to it even though I did not know Heath personally. But hopefully these 'doctors' will be held accountable, if this is the case. And his death will shed more & more light on how these **stards over-prescribe medications and care nothing about your health.
Heath, not only is America mourning your passing but all of Australia and the world is too. You were dedicated, talented and had everything most of us dream about.
It's a shame for us as fans and I'm so sorry for your family and beautiful daughter.
Have a safe journey Heath. and continue to Fly high!

I've taken atavin for 8 years but I take these meds only if I need them..I had a medical doctor tell me that if you drink alcohol even normally like a drink once in awhile and take atavin it could damage your heart. Alot of people in their 40's and 50's die of this.

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 1/29/2008 2:27:24 PM | This is too sad... too many young actors are dying because of the pressures they have to go through day in and day out. Before someone says "Aww poor baby, they have to spend all that money" Yeah but they put up with paparazzi every second, they put up with being put on a pedestal- I can tell you thats no fun, their jobs require hours on end and manipulating one's mind to become who they are trying to portray.. a very grueling process...
My heart goes out to his daughter, this is just too sad

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 1/29/2008 2:39:42 PM | | The role of him in the next Batman movie is going to make him legendary. In a sort of Crow/Brandon Lee way. The filming with all his parts was supposedly all done. So it's going to be a bit ghostly when they release it. From what I've seen with him in the make up though, looks like he's going to be the best Joker yet. | |

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 2/1/2008 9:42:35 PM | Even after a week I am still saddened by the loss of such a great person. Something for everyone to read...I thought this might be of interest. Wrtten in Newsweek by Director Christopher Nolan on Heath.
Memories from Christoper Nolan...
One night, as I'm standing on LaSalle Street in Chicago, trying to line up a shot for "The Dark Knight," a production assistant skateboards into my line of sight. Silently, I curse the moment that Heath first skated onto our set in full character makeup. I'd fretted about the reaction of Batman fans to a skateboarding Joker, but the actual result was a proliferation of skateboards among the younger crew members. If you'd asked those kids why they had chosen to bring their boards to work, they would have answered honestly that they didn't know. That's real charisma—as invisible and natural as gravity. That's what Heath had.
Heath was bursting with creativity. It was in his every gesture. He once told me that he liked to wait between jobs until he was creatively hungry. Until he needed it again. He brought that attitude to our set every day. There aren't many actors who can make you feel ashamed of how often you complain about doing the best job in the world. Heath was one of them.
One time he and another actor were shooting a complex scene. We had two days to shoot it, and at the end of the first day, they'd really found something and Heath was worried that he might not have it if we stopped. He wanted to carry on and finish. It's tough to ask the crew to work late when we all know there's plenty of time to finish the next day. But everyone seemed to understand that Heath had something special and that we had to capture it before it disappeared. Months later, I learned that as Heath left the set that night, he quietly thanked each crew member for working late. Quietly. Not trying to make a point, just grateful for the chance to create that they'd given him.
Those nights on the streets of Chicago were filled with stunts. These can be boring times for an actor, but Heath was fascinated, eagerly accepting our invitation to ride in the camera car as we chased vehicles through movie traffic—not just for the thrill ride, but to be a part of it. Of everything. He'd brought his laptop along in the car, and we had a high-speed screening of two of his works-in-progress: short films he'd made that were exciting and haunting. Their exuberance made me feel jaded and leaden. I've never felt as old as I did watching Heath explore his talents. That night I made him an offer—knowing he wouldn't take me up on it—that he should feel free to come by the set when he had a night off so he could see what we were up to.
When you get into the edit suite after shooting a movie, you feel a responsibility to an actor who has trusted you, and Heath gave us everything. As we started my cut, I would wonder about each take we chose, each trim we made. I would visualize the screening where we'd have to show him the finished film—sitting three or four rows behind him, watching the movements of his head for clues to what he was thinking about what we'd done with all that he'd given us. Now that screening will never be real. I see him every day in my edit suite. I study his face, his voice. And I miss him terribly.
Back on LaSalle Street, I turn to my assistant director and I tell him to clear the skateboarding kid out of my line of sight when I realize—it's Heath, woolly hat pulled low over his eyes, here on his night off to take me up on my offer. I can't help but smile.

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 2/6/2008 8:05:28 AM | Heath Ledger's death was accidental, the New York City medical examiner's office said Wednesday.
According to examiner spokeswoman Ellen Borakove, Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs that included painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication.
"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," medical examiner's spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said in a news release.
The drugs are the generic names for the OxyContin painkiller, the anti-anxiety drug Valium, Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom.
Hydrocodone is a widely used prescription painkiller.

My son took his life, he was suffering from a mental illness, diagnosed by a Medical Specialist in that field. What a cold calculating person you are, i wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Check your facts before making a sweeping statement like that. My sympathy goes out to Heath's parents.
