While I don't think it was suicide, I also don't think it was an accidental overdose.

More people are dying from prescription than Heroin and Coke together.
Over 20,000 dead...
More than car accidents.
Does anyone think we have too many Government Regulations, too much oversight?

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 2/7/2008 7:42:25 AM | To me...this sounds like an accidental OD...just like Anna Nicole. People forget that when you take a number of drugs or start mixing them, then overdose is a constant threat. Especially if you build up a tolerance to one or more drugs.
He probably had OD'ed at least once before in the past..but had recovered on his own or had been secretly hospitalized. Since he didn't seek any assistance weaning himself off of drugs or, if he did, he was unsuccessful in doing so......this was inevitable.
This SHOULD be a lesson for some...but it probably won't be.

Rush would have been better off, no bionic ear....
Do we have too many laws, or not enough?

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 2/7/2008 10:30:50 AM | | Too many laws and not enough education Rite Aide wastes a ton of paper everyday saving lives when they give out medication they also give out a small pamplet on the side effects and what not to take with it..I read an article about his accidental overdose where he would take two Ambien instead of one I can see what happened here..One of my old girl friends who is dead now was a nurse R.N. And it was a known practice for her and her co-workers in the medical field to take two or more pills for pain one to get rid of the pain one for the kick..My medication on the label states 3 norco's aka vicoden per day, 4 Soma's aka muscle relaxers, 2 atavin, 3 valium, several depression pills etc, etc, etc..The most I have ever taken is 2 vicoden and a soma but what really works is atavin for aniexty one vicoden and a soma the medical marijuana is by far the best though..I have 20 some medications I'm prescribed to take each day but I take less than 5 if I really need it..You see the whole thing confuses me..I would think the sinus crap he used along with the downers might have done a number on his heart and killed him..READ THE LABELS The article said that many, many people die the same way Heath did everyday.."Will the good news is...I don't have that pain in my foot no more, the bad news is I don't have pain anywhere anymore cause I'm dead." | |

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," medical examiner's spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said in a news release.
The drugs are the generic names for the OxyContin painkiller, the anti-anxiety drug Valium, Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom.
Wowsers! Sounds like three seperate sets of drugs of which two were in the same catagory - a definite no no but even the tylenol in the oxycodone and hydrocodone could have been another potential doubling up/overdose risk.
Didn't his dr ever explain if you take oxy or hydro you don't take the other? Or if you take restoril you don't take unisom, too? Or if you take valium you don't take xanax too? Or is this the Hollywood way?
Almost too many direct overlaps to truly call it accidental but maybe he had been combining certain ones for a long time and added just one more or a slightly higher dose and it did him in. Or subconsciously he had a death wish.

| Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead... Posted: 2/9/2008 9:38:59 AM | | Well here we go first actors and famous people can do no wrong, nor time for their crimes, per Robert Blake and O.J. Now actors are dying of accidental overdoses..I can understand not wanting the families to suffer but there's an article in my local paper this morning about Brad Renfro's so-called accidental overdose of heroin and morphane..It reminded me of a few years ago when I was helping someone clean out a loved ones home after they passed away of an accidental overdose and I found several half gallon jugs of Jack Daniels in their cabinets....As I stood there shocked the father said "Oh No! It's not what your thinking.......She used that to cook with.." I was thinking "Yea, I'd be cooking too.." I wonder if Brittney dies are they going to call it an accidental overdose too??? I think Brittneys going to make it though..At least for a few more years..Many people get sober young and go back to it in their 40's..I would like to think Heath died of an accidental overdose that some idoit doctor or nurse told him "If one don't work take two, it's O.K. Your young, you can handle it.." Still the mixture of medications...? He might have been a great actor but he really wasn't that smart. | |
