It means that she has trust issues with men and who ever she feels safe with has proven himself to not be all the evil things that women perceive men to be. Just because a person has a penis, they may be potentially unsafe. But of course a man is insane if he perceives women as people being guilty until proven innocent. It's a pity that political correctness is always in favor of women and it demonises men.
I think you've gone overboard with that comment ^ xeno07. You may have experienced probs with some women?, however, have you become so bitter that you can't differentiate between some - all, & what many - most women mean when they do/say something?
I'm all for freedom of speech, & I understand that you have much to say - raising awareness of mens issues, but you're obviously lacking understanding of some things from womens' POV, & just going by your own POV doesn't necessarily mean you're right; - in regard to all women.
Do you really think that in utilising your comments, along with other peoples' ?'s/comments/quotes, & using them in an inflamatory/defamatory/libelous/slanderous way against them; is considered to be ok, or an appropriate way to raise awareness, or will lead to probs experienced improving?

I for one am kinda grateful that they don't religiously follow their own policies...otherwise POF would need to change its name to Not-So-Many-Of-Fish. Everyone has had a bad spellcheck/attitude/logic day. Sometimes it's wise to let kvetchers kvetch, knowing that in their voices--words that others find reprehensible--are precious nuggets of truth, hidden amongst the angst and tragedy. Like TV shows that could be banished for the same reasons within the quotes, sometimes the best strategy is to turn away from it, or to turn it off entirely. | |

BTW, I think men need to feel this way as well, they just don't voice it. | |

It comes with having self assurance and speaking only for myself- in order for me to feel "safe"- a man has to show me that he respects me- just in the little things that he's doing. It is simple things like when we walk in a room-to have his hand on the small of my back and just lettling me know he's there behind me; and this next example is one that most women MAY not be able to relate to but - guys- you know what I'm talking about....IF we're in a biker bar-and a fight breaks out- son-I gotta know that your first priority is getting me out of there safe before the police arrives...NOT telling me - hold my cue-I'll be right back- and go join the fight! If I don't have that warm fuzzy from you that you'll cover my ass- you'll be the one sitting with your back to the door when we go out! My friend of 15 years is 5'5" and when we're out-he's got my back. (I'm 5'10") .

Posted: 2/4/2008 1:09:35 AM | It means to me that, I feel like he would do his best to protect me if need be. It can also mean that I would believe my heart is safe to love him. Like he is true and honest and feels about me like I feel about him. That no matter what happens in life I always have him to smile with , his strenght to lean on, and his love to count on.
But it can be as simple as a girl having a good friend she knows will do their best to not let anything bad happen to her on "his watch". I have had and they still are, although they are scattered around now, good guy friends like this and they are truley priceless.
There can be more versions of this. It just depends on the person perceptions. | |

I felt safe with him because I felt he would not take advantage of me. I felt he truly cared about making me feel comfortable. I felt he wanted to please me. I felt he wanted to be with me because of who I was not just to get his own rocks off. I suspect it is different for every woman. A feeling of safety comes in many forms. | |

Are the women saying that the man resemble a bodyguard while out in public?
Or are they stating that he has money and she longer have to worry about that?
I'm good at translating these sorts of things that women say.
" I feel safe with him " means that he's a good guy to hang out with until a bad boy who REALLY turns her on shows up or the bad boy she had kids with decides to show up again. The " safe guy " is a temporary guy who she can do things with, who is always there for her, listens and talks with her.
" Safe guy " and " nice guy " are often interchangeable terms but " safe guy " may end up in her bed for a while.
