First of all, why do they always pronounce it as "nneeeeeoooossss"?
And I can't figure out what is "the big story" when what they say is "the big story" changes every three minutes.
But here's the big hmm for me - Why does KFWB have the sound of teletype machines banging away in the background of every report from the studio? What the...? Maybe they have such a small budget that they haven't aquired a computer yet. No, that's not it since there are no wire services that still use teletypes.
Hmmm...
OK, enough picking on American radio. How about that BBC? I like them but...
Why do they pronounce every word that ends with an "a" as if it ends in "r", and every word that ends with an "r" as if it ends in "a"?
Why is it so hard for them to pronounce Spanish words? The strangest one I've heard them pronounce was the Central American country of "Nick-you-ag-you-rrrr".
And here's one that is probably more a function my own shortcoming rather than theirs but still interesting anyway. I once heard a report that at first I thought was about "symmetry" - you know, proper proportion, equalness, geometric harmony. - but nooooo. It was about a place to put dead people. Oops.
OK, back to the Americans. Why is it that when I'm driving 75 MPH, there's always some bozo who wants to tailgate me till he passes me in a huff and cuts in front of me without using his turn signals then....drives slower than 75? Huh?
What's with those gang bangers who do all they can get sent to prison where they have sex with other men and then claim that they are not gay because they were the top? Weird.
And then there's our president and his bad grammar. Uh-oh, I better not get started with that guy.
I don't understand why TV weather reporters are always whining about rainy days even though we have had eight years of drought - eight years - and we will need several years of above average rainfall to recover from it.
And why does Showtime run such incredibly long commercials that I'm sick of The Tudors before it even begins...and therefore will never purposely watch it?
Oh ya, and why is it that in the movies, whenever one car hits another, it flies way up in the air as if there were a ramp...oh wait a minute...THAT's why they fly up in the air.

Why do doctors call what they do "practice" Lawyers do the same. As my late father used to say, if they keep “practicing”, they may get it right some day.
Whatever happened to preparations A through G?
How come you don't ever hear about "gruntled" employees?
Why do they sterilize needles for lethal injections?
Why do they call it the Department of Interior when they are in charge of everything outdoors? | |
