Has anyone else seen the latest self help books that have been released? They are "How to gain UK Citizenship" books and they are available in Urdu, Hindi etc for the people that refuse to learn English before moving here

I don't understand that. If I was even to go on holiday abroad I would learn to speak that country's language to a basic level. If I was moving I'd want to be able to integrate straight away.

I can't understand it, why oh why are we letting things go to rack and ruin, it isn't a matter of racism, it's just the belief that we have done enough for foreigners, can we now try and do something for ourselves?

With lousy weather people are disappearing to warmer climates.

We get 9 months of winter and 3 months of summer which is pretty depressing !

More people that leave the better in my opinon (Preferably all men to boost the ratio)

With lousy weather people are disappearing to warmer climates.

No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes. Nowt wrong with getting out surfing middle of December....
No country in the world with as much natural beauty and fewer things likely to eat, or fataly sting or bite you.

I'm seriously considering leaving England too because even in my short life time I have seen the country become steadily worse and worse.

It's gotten to the point now where we are taxed the eye balls.
20% tax taken straight from my wages as well as NI and Council tax.
Then they take 17.5% VAT off pretty much everything I buy along with the highest Fuel Duty in Europe. So I'd reckon thats between 40 and 50% of my wages going straight to the Government and what do I have to show for it?

An NHS service which once you enter a hospital there is a good chance you will leave in a body bag. A council which is constantly digging up roads over and over again because they can't organise the utilities to do work at the same time.
My state penision will probably not exist if I even live to retirement age which I will probably never be able to do because of all the tax I pay.

Don't even get me started on the single mothers who are better off than me with there council houses and benefits along with the immigrants who come to this country for the easy benefits life. The government looks after the immigrants and criminals better than they look after the hard working citizens!

I have no problem with immigrants who come to this country to become party of society but I'm tired of all these immigrants flooding in and try to turn our country into theirs. I'm fairly sure I wouldn't last long if I went to live in another country and tried to make it english?

England has gone Politicial Correctness mad, it seems like every week they are taking away another english tradition. I'm sorry but I want to display my nations flag but now its demeed offensive to immigrants? If they don't like it go back to their own country?
I dont want to call Christmas the winter holiday and I don't want to tell my children (if I can ever afford them) the nursery rhyme Bah Bah Rainbow sheep! The last time I checked there are no Rainbow coloured sheep.

The fact is England is going down the pan, at this rate the UK will be renamed to something stupid in 10yrs time just incase we offend some random immigrant.

Message 61...Valen, so the country wasn't too bad for you to come back and leech from the medical services then, why would you not just put some ice on your injury, people like you make me sick, bleating on about things being so horrible.... yet get ill.... and you're right back like a rat up a drainpipe

for your knowledge i have paid my taxes i have paid my stamp for years before i went to iceland so don't be so quick to judge!!
i would love to put ice on my THREE slipped discs and abnormal bone structure in my spine but i don't think it would do a lot of good!!!
i came back to the uk because it simply does have the best health care plan and as i have never asked for anything from the state i thought i would cash in those 15 odd years of working in the uk...is that ok with you, or should i ask the pm for permission to come back to the country i was born and raised in? when i said i do not see my future in the uk, i don't but as i am going to be out for a few years my immediate future does lie here....oh and for your infomation jackass i work part time from home...or is that not good enough for you either...so quit jumping to conclusions

& What about all the chav-scum, dole scroungers, theives etc that were born & bred here, & coninue to live here on our taxes. We need to sort that out before even considering so called "invaders".

The labour party & their thoughtless downtrodden supporters have ruined this country.... Good luck to anyone who has the abillity to leave when they can.

Who votes Labour? The great downtrodden.
Labour want people to be down trodden.
Vicious circle.

If you don't like it here you have a choice, either fook off and shut up, or just shut up because you choose to stay and live with it, but stop whinging.

I would never leave this country. ...
Grass isnt usually greener on the otherside.
I love this country. I am English and proud to be so and very proud to live here.

Speaking as an Essex lad that is just about to start his ninth year in the US, the grass is definitely not always greener. For the last couple of years, I have been back in England for a couple of weeks each year. Every time, I have been impressed with the "realness" of my people. Once you get past the reserve, which is purely a function of the limited space, it would be very hard to find a more genuine populace.

I love my country, I'm immensely proud to be English (and British).
I too used to whinge about England when I still lived there. Sometimes it takes being away from it for a few years to truly appreciate what we have there. Don't knock it guys. Often the dreams of a better land are just that.

I just want to live somewhere I can afford to live. At the moment I can't do that, so I'm stuck at my dad's house at 32 years old! I am not entitled to council housing (not even a pokey studio flat in a crap area where there are loads of flats going spare) as I am not a: a family, b: a single parent, c: an immigrant or d: on benefits. This leaves me with the option of renting privately at £550 a month (on £800 take home wage) plus council tax (£110), bills, food, travel etc. This would not be affordable, so I am stuck.

I have lived abroad for more than 20 years and really love it. However, I have lost count of the number of people I have heard, including here on this thread, saying how, "Uk is going to the dogs" , " I wish I could do it" , etc.
The truth of the matter is that only a few actually have the guts to sell the house, jack in the job, and really go for it 100%.
So lets see if any of you who run your country down are actaully serious.
Amongst other things, I have an Irish Pub and two gorgeous apartments for sale in beautiful parts of Spain. The perfect opportunity to grasp what some of you dream of.
I will keep you informed as to how many actually contact me to ask for details.

Well, well, well.
Would you Adam & Eve it. lol.
After 15 hours there are in fact NO people who have the bollocks to even look into the possibility of leaving.
How did I know? because I speak to people like this everyday. They all reckon they want to leave UK but .................................................
They wont. They never will. Not for anything. I could have said "move for free" I hope they enjoy their whinge and moan but they are all just hypocrites. Talking rubbish.

Right now, the UK is looking pretty inviting for this American. Gas is $4 a gallon. The economy is horrible. We are in an endless war and the number 1 target of all who hate the ways of the West. I have always been facinated with the UK. Call it a curiosity about my roots, because I, unlike most Americans, know that history didn't start 230 years ago. I don't know what you all are complaining about. The UK doesn't seem bad at all to me, and I live in what is supposedly "The greatest, most powerful, most totally awesome nation on Earth."

Mechanic man might well be shooting from the hip but so far as I'm concerned is talking nonsense with such a sweeping statement. That may be true of a small minority but not the majority of people. Spineless? Maybe some would say those that are happy to be constantly ripped off and accept it are the spineless ones.

I left because I was fed up with the way the British are treated by the powers that be. Constantly charged more for less, but when it comes to wage rises it's funny they never keep up with the cost of living. I was sick of paying tax for less services, it was like being under a tory government. when told we can I got sick of going out and feeling intimidating atmospheres everywhere, it began to appear that a good time meant drinking yourself senseless and then starting on a stranger for the hell of it. Fed up with constantly crappy weather (that said it's not great here at the moment either LOL).

Si1982 has hit the nail very succinctly on the head, oh and Mike in Ibiza, I know exactly what you are saying. And we're accused of being the spineless ones for leaving a fast sinking ship!

I decided I wanted to have a life not just living to work as it is becoming in the UK. And I had the spine to go out and do something about seeing my life becoming more and more wasted.

Perhaps your username should have been "Gutless Reaction" your criticism of my user name is inappropriate and childless, you obviously have nothing sensible to add to this discussion
