I'LL TREAT YOU LIKE A QUEEN ???

What most men don't get is that most of us ladies do NOT want to be treated like Queens; we just want to be treated like HUMAN BEINGS and EQUALS. If I had some guy who conceded to my every wish, bought me a lot of stuff and did whatever I wanted him to do, I can tell you, I'd be bored very quickly.
I like doing things for myself and don't expect any guy to bow down at my feet.

Unless I have PMS. Then he has to haul his azz to the store to get my Midol and chocolate, rub my feet and get my heating pad, dammit!!

I have a sibling, that wants, expects, and DEMANDS her man treats her like a "queen", views her as a "goddess"... He on the other hand, well he better have LOTS OF MONEY, unending amounts of time to drop every thing no matter what, to come to her beckoning call.

It is wonderful to have a guy that opens doors, will rub your back, feet, what ever when you ache from head to toe... But it is obvious "being treated like a queen" is a personally defined term.

One in which on a mans profile falls suspect to a sales pitch... Make big promises, and then be glad for the sale...

NO OFFENSE, but I would prefer to see a man want to treat me like a lady with respect, understanding, car door opening thing is really cool, and have honest and intigrity as one of the biggest qualitites that he prides himself in.

Well said nexthyme! To me, being treated like a King or a Queen carries the implication that they're "entitled" but not necessarily "worthy".

I think that everyone likes being treated well, but some ALSO like the feeling that they are being treated well out of appreciation and respect....NOT just because "there will be hell to pay" if they're not (treated well). Hence, your keyword...."DEMANDS". There's a huge difference between respecting the PERSON...and respecting the title! The "respect" shown to "royalty" is more often than not a tribute paid to the office...rather than to the individual.

I hate to say this but its prolly true. I'd walk all over him until I couldnt stand him and then dump him. I bet it wouldnt last a month.

I've seen woman treated like Queens when the guy is trying to make up for something.
Or he wants some thing . It doesn't matter what forums you read or who you talk to. Every one comes from a bad relationship. Where does it say we can't treat each other like equals. I know its hidden ones. Lets face it if we did none of us would be here. Every one would have a great relationship and no one would be Single Now you know it seems we cant have that. Wouldn't it be nice to be partners instead of property?

That line was in my boyfriend's profile when we first started corresponding. While I will admit he doesn't walk 10 steps behind me, scatter rose petals in my path or check to see if my food is poisoned, he does treat me like a queen in every other sense of the word. He's kind and respectful, loving and generous, listens when I talk and sometimes thinks I make a good point when I do talk.

I will admit -- I'm kinda liking the idea of being fanned with a peacock feather

It means with respect, caring, and understanding that goes along with you being a woman and him being a man

I think that respect, caring and understanding are basic requirements, that a relationship can't exist without. It should not be regarded as Royal treatment.
I should ask one of them "king guys" and get the info straight from the horse's mouth!

Wait, Red... you forgot "Queen Bee"!

True... In my defense, I was raised in socialist country... We got rid of our royalty back in the 40s... Even our bee hives were run by ChairBee.

To go back to the original question. I have no desire to be treated as a queen... I would prefered to be treated as an alien that I am: an awkward, quirky, unique one that finds very few of her kind around here.

But, such a "treatment" I shall receive only from another fellow alien... if I ever find one...

Do they specify WHICH Queen ?

They might be referring to Marie Antoinette, Anne Boleyn, or Catherine Howard .

Glad I'm NOT the only one who had this thought go across my mind.

having to make that statement in a profile makes me wonder what kind of women he's been associating with, or what kinds of wrongdoing he's been accused of in previous relationships.

I don't think I'd even like the idea of the Queenly perk of having someone else carrying the money and paying for stuff...sounds kinda limiting to me.

Usually men that use that line do it to lure stupid women into believing they are actually decent human beings. Most of the times it's just an act to get into your pants.

I'LL TREAT YOU LIKE A QUEEN ???

^^^^^^^^^^^^This is usually a phrase quoted by a whiney "nice guy" who has been rejected several times.

The nice guy is hoping that if he treats his date like royalty...he will get a piece of a$$.

So, if you hear this phrase....he usually has an ulterior motive

Men that claim this have no intention of ever becoming a partnership with the woman in question. It's an excuse to NOT get emotionally involved or attached.

Give her things, do things to keep her quiet so you don't have to invest anything of self to the relationship.

blech

Give me a real man that knows that the woman he loves just wants to share and have him share same with her.... None of this pedestal shit for me. I have a hard time keeping my balance on things that can be toppled easily....

Men seem to say that maybe even treat you like that when you first met them,,,,they when they have you were they want you.....Well they become king of the castle and your their servant. For me being treated like a Queen is being respected, appreciated and maybe be taken out to dinner once in a while. I dont want jewelery, mansions or money.

I really think the vast majority responding to this thread are missing the point. I have used that statement before and will use it again. Mind you, this is only my interpretation of it, so take it for what it is worth.

It's not a matter of you being a servant or me becoming a man named Matt (as in door mat to be walked on) and catering to your every whim, it's about giving the respect and courtesy that is due a woman in general and to a greater degree what is due to the woman that is the keeper of the heart I gave her, mine. My partner in life will be the queen to my king, princess to my prince, yin to my yang, the one that compliments me, not completes me.

Yes, we all have known people like this and it is sad and very selfish,

a paradox of sorts yet to love without the heart is very empty...

without feeling's of true emotions or love.

I don't now and have never wanted to be treated like a queen, a princess, or a "lady" by anyone.

I only want to be treated with respect, dignity, kindness, and compassion as an individual, like all human beings should be treated....nothing more, nothing less.

Love and peace

She even got to eat potato chips in bed!

I'll tell you this, my best friend treated his girlfriend like a queen. He even bought all of her cigerettes and beer. Then some ahole moved in next door. He was taller, had more muscles, was bald (by choice), along with a bunch of tattoos, piercings in places they shouldn't be at along with a criminal record. She started to share the gifts he bought her with the neighbor guy. She told him that he doesn't bring out the "wild child" in her so she left him for the neighbor. After a few weeks I kept catching her crying because he was beating her. Yet, she wouldn't leave him or turn him in because "she loved him." Why is it in so many men and women's head's that you're supposed to beat or get beaten by the man or woman that you love and care about? That's just fn retarded! Morale of the story, sometimes it's better not to treat a woman like a queen.

That just proves how strong the forces of attraction are.

Has nothing to do with choice, or logic!

Too bad, women, largely won't accept that!

I always wonder if it means that he will treat me like crap. I have found with many people that when they feel the need to tell you something, it is because they are or will do the opposite, particularly if the statement is unsolicited. My X made a comment one day that he thought men and women should share the housework. As soon as we were married the only time he ever did anything inside the house was if I was in bed because of a surgery.

If treating me like a queen means being thoughtful and trying to make my life easier, that would be wonderful. If treating me like a queen means that you are so effusive that I feel smothered, I will just take a pass and be happy with someone that treats me with kindness and respect and is willing to walk by my side and give me a hand now and again.

I find that these guy, only know how to "talk a good fight". They can't walk the walk or talk the talk!
I've been on this site for a long time, and everytime it looks like there is going to be a "meet", something in their DNA tells them to stop!!!! I really and truly believe that most guys just want to see if they can attract a lady. I even have this written in my profile.
I also understand that "times are rough" and a lot of people don't have much money to date. But, it doesn't have to take a lot of money
I really am considering going off of this site, and just giving up entirely. I was married for 40 yrs. and that wasn't this hard. Maybe it is in the cards, to find a single girfriend to do things with, I'm SERIOUS!!!!

i wanna be treated with respect and care... and irreverence and teasing....to be gently caressed and roughly tumbled...

not put up on a pedestal

the problems with statues on pedestals is that eventually the facade cracks and the reality of the person is revealed... there's no way i could live up to anyones' ideas of perfection and the crash as the clay idol falls would be too devastating for a relationship to survive, imo

English Lass has a good understanding of treating a gal like a queen should mean.
