Posted: 10/16/2004 11:04:00 PM | ok..I just got back from this party..I had an "okay" time...but only because I won the door prize :) there were about 10 guys for every girl there and only about 40 people showed up. Pretty discouraging, I'd say...hopefully the next one will be better..
I met admin...cool guy, wants to do about 200 cities a month in the same manner...hmmm can you say busy?? :)

Posted: 10/17/2004 11:21:42 AM | It's the day after for me and I still have a smile on my face. I brought two friends, Donald and Liz and we all had a great time. I meet almost everyone playing the games and felt really comfortable talking with the other guests. Probably because the hostess, Kristy and the others were so awesome. Alot of the people were very shy and didn't mingle much which I understand. But what I gleamed from the ladies was that they would have like it if the men had come by and spoken to them instead of huddling around the bar or hiding in the corners.
I really liked the age spread of the crowd and hope that future events will be just as divers. Maybe if it would help, there could be more of an incentive for the ladies to attend. It's hard to go to these things alone but if there are ladies out there that want to attend and have no one to show up with maybe we could work on a buddy system and try to match people up by location to share the cost of parking and driving?
This event was alot of fun despite the low turn out, but that can only be expected for the first one. Everyone who had a great time will show up again and bring friends and anyone that reads the positive response here will think about attending the next one.
I for one am looking forward to seeing you all again.

We were worried to many people would show up so we didn't send out a reminder email and stoped a bunch of friends of friends from coming. Won't be doing that again :) We will also move the event to a weeknight next time as people will be more likely to show. About 80 people showed up through out the course of the night, given another 2 or 3 events we should be up to 500 ish. For the second vancouver party, our RSVp's have trippled since the first one. | |

Posted: 10/19/2004 7:59:05 PM | very sad that i didn't get to go. it would have been good to not be working the next day early. i guess next time i will just have to pay more attention to that. i hope you don't change it to a week night tho, might have a hell of a lot harder time showing up with work and school. and i will drag a few women from this site over to the party aswell. anywho hope someone made an a** out of themselves.
