Posted: 2/24/2008 12:24:45 PM | Hey taxman it will be good to see you again. As far as I know you are the only person going that I've previously met. You probably don't remember but we met at one of the Sarasota singles dances back in November of '06. I haven't made it back down for a dance since then but only because it's hard to find a babysitter on Sundays.
Does anyone have a pump to blow up an air mattress? I borrowed the mattress but they didn't have a pump. I figure someone there is bound to have one I can use. I can't wait til this weekend! See you all then.

Yes I remember you from the Sarasota party; it's good to hear from you again as well.
Glad to see that you signed up for Campstock. I do not have a tent, & nobody's available to share, so I will drive down there Saturday morning & stay the entire day. I am going to be leaving about 6:00 p.m. to go to the Meet N Greet event in Sarasota at Boston's that same night.
I will see you there saturday!

I may have an extra air mattress too. My friend gave me two but said one may have a hole, he wasn't sure. But I'm gonna get a patch repair kit just in case and I won't need two mattresses so someone else can use it if needed.
Taxman, too bad you can't stay for the whole weekend. I think we will have way more fun at the campground Saturday night than they will have at the meet n greet! After all, who's gonna be there when everyone will be at the campground anyway??? But I do hope you have fun there. | |

Posted: 2/25/2008 3:34:07 PM | I recommend bug spray as well. Generally, forest areas as not at all like city areas as I've never been to a park where they did a ton of spraying. There is dense vegetation and lots of water sources. If we're lucky, it'll be super cold and that will cause the bugs to kinda go into a stupor, but I doubt it. If you are allergic to bug spray, there are some great alternative s out there that work pretty well. I recommend spraying it on your clothing (long sleeves), if you want to wear short sleeves, bring wet wipes to clean up at night when you finally lock yourself into your tent. :)
Oh, the other problem - you need to worry about ticks. They transmit lyme disease and they definitely will bite. That's the other reason for bug repellent.

If i can get it fixed in time ill bring it, but if not was wondering if i could use someones.I will be bringing some coleman propane tanks for the stoves and lanterns and small grills, for exchange.

On the main page is the address to the campground. It would be best to just mapquest the driving directions from your address. I know I am not sure of the easiest way coming from the skyway, but mapquest should know.

I believe there are a few of us bringing grills, and I know I can't cook a mean steak on the grill, so I will be happy to pass it off to someone who can. I was going to stop by and fill another tank, but if you are willing to trade your services for propane, that sounds like a definite option  
I am also brining two air-mattress pumps (one battery operated and one electric)
I can't wait till friday...bring your bug spray...and Happy Camping!!!

The campground is a public place in which all are welcome.
The site we have for Campstock is preferably for POF singles.
I would prefer it to stay that way also. I don't want to feel all weirded out by couples kissing or making "cue cue eyes", at each other, and little innuendos, while I am camping along side of other single guests  
Or the opposite example, if one half of the couple starts getting jealous, flirty (or they both do with others), and create drama? It's not fare for other single guests who only want to enjoy themselves , have fun , relax , camp and meet new people
I don't know why couples would want to hang out with POF singles anyway?  Why not enjoy or look for friends who are couples?  Or If they want to go camping, then plan their own event any way "They WANT", and make arrangements for it another time. It could not be more Simple!
That being said............On with our plans!.........Lets Have a Good Time

So that might be available, I think I also have a 8 foot dome tent and a few 2-3-4 person pop-up dome tents, if ThirdTimeAround still needs one? Three of my tents are large, but fill up floor space with a few air mattresses . It could end up being a real old fashion slumber party
Sometimes people borrow things. I have to make sure I have all my stuff back....so I will go in the attic and closets tonight to do an equipment/gear inventory. I will finalize that lending list tomorrow. | |
